Hello! I saw a post on here earlier but I cannot find it now. I was wondering if we had to sign up for this event or do we just show up for the dates. I remember from the news letter that there is more information to come. But I don't want to miss important dates say, sign up before the end of March etc. any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

News about the May 2012 Workshops has been posted in the December 2011, January 2012, February 2012, and March 2012 Lucky Mojo monthly newsletters, which you can read online if you don't subscribe via email

http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs00 ... 70289.html

Also, here is a link to the upcoming 20012 Workshops on the web, where all the latest news and updates are posted:

http://missionaryindependent.org/workshops.html

This is going to be a great Workshop series, with five events per day over the course of two days. In addition to the conjure workshops, readings will be offered in the open tents, and there will be a free Santeria Road Opening ceremony, a large Santisiama Muerte altar for all to participate in, and free potluck meals both days.

If you have ever wanted to visit Lucky Mojo, May 5 and 6, 2012 is the time of year to do so!

Stay in touch with the web page or subscribe to the newsletter. It was our intention to have the signup function in place and announced with the March 2012 newsletter, but it took us too long to write and work up pages for the FOUR NEW LABEL lines we also introduced at the same time, so rather than delay the newsletter any more, we outsourced the sign-up function to our good friend Oran Davis (the man who built the Crystal Silence League web site for us). He will have it together within a few days, he says, and i have every reason to trust him on that.

Announcements to follow!

Okay -- the pre-registrations forms for the May 5-6, 2012 Hoodoo Workshops are ONLINE!

You can now go to this web page:

http://missionaryindependent.org/workshops.html

and sign up for each of the 2012 workshops you wish to take. Your Paypal payment will go directly to he workshop presenter (the Church does not take a cut), and you will be assured of a spot in the class!

Yay! Hooray! And thanks to Oran Davis (who also programmed the Crystal Silence League website for the Church -- and who asks that any glitches, blinks, or irregularities with this new system be reported here).

Thanks.

See you at the 2012 Workshops!

Hi Cat!
I preregistered for several classes yesterday. Can't wait to get out there! One question though...I signed up for your bone throwing class. I was wondering if I should bring my own bones if I already have the LM starter kit?
Thanks for your time and I'm excited to meet everybody!

Jim, i look forward to seeing you.

Yes, bring your own bone set, because if you already have the Lucky Mojo starter set, you will be given the equivalent monetary value in store credit to purchase other bones or amuletic bits for your bone set.

Sara and I pre-registered up for the majority of classes we wanted to take. So exciting. Last year was a real highlight for us. We still want to help out though. I am going to talk to Robin and offer our services between classes. This is going to be such a good Workshop Weekend. I love the fact that the classes will be all paid up before the days that they are scheduled for. This will be a help to the instructors as well as us students!

Looking forward to May! See you all there...

Links to the PRE-REGISTRATION forms for signing up for May 5-6, 2012 Hoodoo Training Workshops in Forestville, California re included in the April 2012 Lucky Mojo Newsletter!

Read the newsletter here:

http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs00 ... 57354.html

If you like what you see, and want to sontinue to receive news about our shop, our new products, plus free spells, descriptions of folk-magical amulets from around the world, and DISCOUNT COUPS, then just click the "join our mailing list" button on that archived copy of the newsletter and each month a copy will be sent to you via email.

And, by the way, sign-ups for the workshops are working great with the new pre-registration system, so, if you are planning to attend, PLEASE pre-register now, because we will NOT be having folks collecting cash at the opening of each workshop. This will give us all MORE WORHOP TIME, as we don;t need to waste time collecting money, but in order for the new system to work smoothly, everyone will have to register ONLINE.

Do it.

Thanks!

I am currently typsetting the 16-page cook book which will be the give-away for the Hoodoo Foods! Workshop this year! Almost done, too! Everything is so tasty -- and sooooooo magical! I want to thank all who have contributed recipes!

This book is FREE to workshop attendees, and will be on sale in Mid-May for $4.00, and is well worth it.

Yummy conjuring!

I believe that, for special occasions especially, the across the street neighbors are okay with parking in front, but definitely call the shop and find out if this is true first. They have always been nice and waved at me. Though we almost always park down a side street or in front of either church on Covey Road. Never had a problem before! :)

NO, NO, NO. The across-the-street neighbors are NOT okay with parking on their PRIVATE land. The area in front of their house is not public parking -- it is their (admittedly gravel) front yard! Please do NOT park there. DO NOT PARK THERE!!!!!!!!! There are side streets all around -- Center Street is fine. On Sunday, please do NOT park in the church parking lots. They need the space for their parishioners.

I must have caught them on a very good day then! Yikes. I made sure to point to the car and waited for them to shake their head yes and wave. I was just running in though! Thank you for clearing that up, I could not remember if it was okay to do so last year because of the Workshops! DON'T park there folks, okay!

Also, yes, on Sunday there is no way to park in front of those churches, they need the room for parishioners and are usually taken up already anyway, so we keep them clear. As I said before we ALWAYS find good parking down a side street with no problem.

Hi all:

I am so grateful that I had a chance to go to the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Workshops this past weekend. I learned so much just from talking to people, observing and of course from the workshops themselves.

I got to meet: Papa Newt, CM Ali, Miss Tammie Lee, Lou Florez, Dr. E., Khi Armand, Sister Robin (the shop manager), cat and nagasiva, Jackie (thanks for letting me room with you!), Deacon Millett, and so many others. I had so much fun it should have been illegal :)

Miss cat, thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

We loved having both of you here, Mary Bee and Aura -- and the folks you mentioned above, plus Ms Robin, Marin Graves, Miss Michaele, Auntie Sindy Todo, Susan Diamond (all of AIRR). Tricia, Joseph Magnuson, Mister Kurtis, Kast Excelsior (who gave me a bone reading), Courtney Kolb (ditto), Vanessa S., Joan Cox, Noelle W. (Joan's daughter), Alan Scott, and many, many more....

Greetings!

I spoke with s wonderful woman that was taking shots of the hoodoo weekend that had just past ans she told me she put the links to to flickr account online here and at the HR Grads group. I have not seen them.

Anyone has the link to all the photos?

The picture of Miss Michaele with the reversed Tower card makes me incredibly happy.

Merry Meet My Fellow Students:

Welcome to all newcomers! Congrats to those recently graduated.

I wanted to add my comments regarding the Hoodoo Workshop and to all those
who attended...it all looked really, really fantastic, and had I been
living in the USA, I would have jumped on a plane not to miss out. I'm a
bit too far away (Vienna, Austria) to make a weekend out of it, but I'm
sure the vibes had everyone floating on air (perhaps literally.) By the
way, I did leave some comments on some of the amazing photos posted on
Flickr.

Many Blessings,
Rev. Deborah Joy

Hahaha! Thank you so much! Yes, that captures my personality and reading style pretty concisely.

I can't imagine how I thought that flannel shirt went with that outfit, though. I won't do that again. :)

Adding another 'Yay, Thanks for the great weekend' to the mix!
It was a delight to meet so many of you, and learn so much so quickly.

Lots of people showed interest in the blog post Sara and I were writing about the Workshop Weekend 2012. We started working on it at 11am and, as of 6:30pm, are just finishing it up. There will be a link soon with the flickr account full of about 200+ more pictures, but for now, if I may share:

Joseph and Sara:
Thank you for the great post and review of the weekend!
There are a few tidbits in there that had already slipped my mind.

And... Your blog is terrific in general, some great reading there.

Love Potion No9:
Thank you for all the pictures you have posted too. It is quite a thorough visual documentation of the weekend!

My mind is still reeling from that weekend! It was my first time out to LM and it did NOT disappoint! Thanks for the recap Joseph and Sarah! I'm not the most active on-line participant, but i graduated from the course, read the forum daily and listen to the radio show every week, so it was great to finally put faces with the names that have become so familiar. I already can't wait for next year.
Thank you to all of the presenters, the LM staff (who were sooo helpful and endlessly entertaining) and especially to Miss Cat for providing us with such an amazing experience! You have to let me do a bone reading for you next year!
Be well,
Jim

2012: May 5-6 MISC Hoodoo Heritage Festival Workshops

Unread post by MissMichaele » Sat Aug 04, 2012 3:53 pm

I've always loved the MISC Workshops, and this year was just about the best. We were all right in the groove and the power was there for the asking. It was a pleasure bunking with TammieLee, Ida and Emika. Wonderful company, wonderful teaching, and fine down-home cooking too.

Most transformative workshops this year were the Sangoma Bone Reading (taught by Dr. JohnMichael Hilford) and the revival of the Crystal Silence League (as conducted our beloved Rev. Miss Cat).

And speaking of the Crystal Silence League, my amazing daughter is feeling led to start educating and developing her spiritual gifts. I'm pointing her in that direction for a start.

Nostalgic and gleefully expectant,

Miss Michaele
