beautiful

Seems that you're overthinking your work. If you live in Sacramento, I'm sure there are many crossroads that aren't so far away. I mean, c'mon, it's where two roads intersect. I recommend reading this entire thread.

questions-about-crossroads-t8808.html#p49699

There's no rule about the depth of digging spell remains. Someone finding the spell remains after you move away really is a non-issue - you did the work and laid the trick. If this concern is holding you back from performing a spell, then dispose of the remains at the crossroads.

"Crossroads disposal is also used for throwing out the remains of candle wax, ashes from burned out incense, and remnant powders left over from any spell that was negative in intent or did not involve you personally. It is the safely neutral alternative to disposing of such items in your home yard or in a graveyard." http://www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html

Good luck!

Gotta agree with flamethrower. You're over thinking a bit too much and worrying about things that haven't happened yet.

1). A crossroads is basically a four way stop or four way intersection in modern terms. There is at least one located in every city and town, you just have to look. Yes, it is acceptable to drive to a crossroads. Not everyone lives a hop, skip and a jump away from a crossroads so using modern transportation is perfectly acceptable.

2). If you're worried about someone digging up your spell remains, try to find a secluded location (ie an unlikely place for a garden) in your yard to bury them. Believe it or not, candle wax, ashes and even cloth break down in the earth fairly quickly so if anyone does dig up what you've buried, odds are good they'll have no idea what they found. If by chance someone does find your spell remains, simply redo the spell if you're worried about its manifestation.

3). About a foot down should do it. Use common sense.

Is it possible to use the same crossroads again? or not? or if we can, do we wait a month or so, before going back to re-use it? I don't have access to very many crossroads because I live in a small cornfield town, and we all have common roads!

Thank you in advance:)

There's no reason why you'd need more than one crossroads.

If we were unable to use the same crossroads then conjurers wouldn't be able to live in one spot for very long ;-)

i was under the impression, if we throw the bathwater once, and never look back, we could never walk past it or goto that area again. so if i do crown of success one day, throw the bathwater over the crossroad, and then do a fast luck spell the following wk, and throw that bathwater at the same crossroad, I can do that?

If you were to never visit those crossroads then you'd have to find new ways of getting around your town. You aren't suppose to look back to the spell you dispose and walk away with faith, but that doesn't mean you can't go back to that crossroads.

Can I go and wait at the crossroads in my car, or do I have to actually be there out in the open. I fear for my life regarding perverts or other bad people who might harm me.

Faithfully, if you live your life in so much fear of encountering "perverts or other bad people" that you cannot get out of your car at a street intersection or country crossroads, then i seriously doubt that you will ever be an effective practitioner of rootwork.

As practitioners, our goals may be varied, but we do have one thing in common: Conjure by its very nature is strong work and it requires a sure and steady mind, an optimistic outlook, and a sense of spiritual affirmation and trust in the Divine that you evidently lack.

There are a lot of folks using this forum who are inexperienced with the tradition of rootwork, conjure or hoodoo, and somehow they are picking up a lot of funky, false, and downright dippy information on the internet about the role of the crossroads in rootwork.

This post is designed to be quoted or pointed to by anyone who wishes to set straight anyone on the forum who is confused about crossroads work:

1) Read about the Crossroads here in "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice" by cat yronwode:
http://luckymojo.com/crossroads.html

2) Read about the Crossroads at the "Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers" site:
http://readersandrootworkers.org/index. ... Crossroads

3) Read about how to dispose of or deploy ritual elements and hoodoo tricks at a crossroads in this page from "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice" by cat yronwode:
http://luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html#crossroads

4) When using a crossroads for disposal or dispersal of spell work, you do not need to make "an offering to the crossroads," in hoodoo, though that is certainly done by some folks who have been influenced by West African religions.

5) In all my many years as a worker, i have never heard that you need to avoid returning to a "used" crossroads or that you should only use a crossroads you won't pass by again. Just go to your local crossroads and do your work, but when you leave it, don't look back. (Maybe folks have confused the idea of "don't LOOK back" with "don't GO back" ? ? ? If so, get over it.)

I was told by an AIRR worker that you need to bring whiskey or tobacco to give as an offering and that just showing up is not good enough.
How come I haven't heard anyone mention this before?

Different people work the crossroads differently for different purposes. There's no One Way to work at the crossroads.

Are you just disposing of remains?

Are you doing the Crossroads rite to gain a skill from the Dark Man?

Are you working at the crossroads to open your paths?

Each working will be different. Not all require offerings. In fact, most do not.

I am doing it to gain a skill. Is there anything specific I need to bring or do besides just showing up and bringing what I would like to master?
I was just wondering because I don't want to do it the wrong way or miss a step....
Thank you for the help.

If you had previously spoken to an AIRR worker about the matter, then I suggest getting an consultation with them to get their advice on how best to proceed for your situation. However you can always look up the crossroads page on LM for more info.

If you've spoken to a member of AIRR consider hiring them for a magical coaching session so they can walk you through the work step by step.

Remember that we are working with a tradition here so people may vary their practices slightly according to how they were raised and taught to do the work. Momma Starr once said, "Put ten rootworkers in a room together and you'll get ten different ways of doing the same thing" XD.

Howdy all! Sorry if this has been asked.... i tried searching but didnt get my specific answer.

I just got in some spell kits from LM. My question is that one of the kits requires me to take some bathwater and throw them at crossroads. I understand that part no biggie there. My question is, do i have to pick a crossroads i will never cross or go by anymore? If im getting rid of jinxed conditions (with the LM uncrossing spell kit) if i pass through that crossroad will i get the jinx / bad luck back?

Thanks in advance

I live a rural area and was wondering if i can just dispose of the water in my yard or can i drive to a crossroad and dispose of the water in that way.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello all.

Ive been playing guitar for the past 6 years, religiously practicing everyday for 4-5 hours. thats not the problem. I was planning on doing the Crossroads ritual, from all sources i read, a black man will come and talk to you. I live in Singapore. Is there any problem with me doing it in Singapore? There is hardly any opportunity for musicians here

You can do the ritual in Singapore,
also you might consider getting the BLUES BOY SPECIAL MOJO HAND found on this page:

http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatmojo.html

Another good thing to work to get noticed more and be more successful would be the Crown of Success spell kit

THIS IS AMAZING! :) THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Im really excited! :) going to do it TMR! YESS!! So i just play my guitar and sing till 1230am with the intention of meeting someone and leave? will do so!
Thank you all! :)

Triple threat: i've never worked with saints before. I would though.. Saint Cecilia and Saint Gregory would help. But how do i go about doing this?

Im going to go ALL out on this! :) im really kinda sick of my music being only known locally :( its soooo hard getting a name out there especially when there are sooo many other musicians. Worst is when i see a person who really cant do anything rise up to fame because of $$$$$ power! Unfair much! :D

Cant wait !!! :D :D :D

Your enthusiasm is going to take you places. Keep up the positive attitude! :) Love it!

Here are some pages that will be very helpful to you and links to products, information, and a recommendation below:

http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodoohistory.html

http://www.luckymojo.com/deityluck.html read this page, too.

Here is a page in the Lucky Mojo Catalogue, where you can find Holy Cards.

http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatholycards.html#catitaly

I do also suggest setting lights when working with them. Create an alter for them and your work, and really a member of AIRR would be much better in telling you how to do this. Contact a member of AIRR, also not just for a reading, but they can best explain to you in much greater depth and knowledge. Many of them do readings by email. (helpful and cost effective, because you are posting from Singapore) Members of AIRR help people all over the world, and not all Members of AIRR are in the US. They work with people all over the world, and are very skilled and highly professional and are extremely knowledgable.

http://www.readersandrootworkers.org

In my opinion, You will know, without a shadow of a doubt, as the relationship is being built when working with The Saints. There is a "physical and spiritual" feeling that I receive when working with them. That's the best way I can explain it.

http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatoils.html scroll down to all Saints Oil and Archangel Gabriel oil.

If you do not have Hoodoo in Herb and Root Magic, you need to include this in your order:

http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodooherbmagic.html

Best of luck in all of your creative endeavors, again!

Post says it all........I have been vocalizing privately and I miss the operatic countertenor I used to be able to sing. I can still roll that high F at the top of the treble staff, but I want more. Listening to Shanice, I want to whistle vocally. I don't know where to begin magickally. I mean, I practice in the car and everything, but well, I need help.....Any ideas?

Work with Crown of Success products to help your efforts to get your voice back into shape be successful.

You could also look into the patron saints of singers: St. Cecilia, St. Andrew the Apostle, and St. Gregory the Great.

Then...practice, practice, practice!

Very hard to tell without doing a reading, as you might guess. Especially since we do not know anything about how your frend went about this except that he sat there. Did he sit in the morning or evening? Did he bring payment? What was he expecting and what did he percieve?
And most importantly, has he noticed any changes in his ability to play his instrument?

The crossroads rite is a petition to call the spirit of the crossroads. That spirit does not have to show. It might not find your request favorable, or for a variety of reasons simple not come around. The rite is aimed at going to gain its favor. Get a divination to find out what happened and what the spirit might be trying to tell you by not coming.

That said, this spirit doesn't always appear in a physical "black man" form--that is one of its manifestations.

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is posted in the right place, but I have a sort of general question....

I am wondering what counts as a crossroad? For example, would a road that dead ends into another road count as a crossroad? Like, a road that looks like a T ?

Thank you so much in advance,

Thank you for your response!

Can a road that dead ends into another be considered a cross road? A road that looks like the letter T?

According to this on the Crossroad page....

The crossroads -- a place where two roads cross at or about at right angles, otherwise known as "the forks of the road"

I would consider that to be a crossroads considering it is where two roads cross. One is going one direction and the other is going the other way. In addition, it does make 90 degree aka right angles.

Maybe I am wrong but seems like a crossroads to me. Perhaps someone else can further clarify.

I was taught that a crossroads has to be two roads that not only meet, but cross. That means X or +. That's just what I was taught.

I had to ask someone else about this as Ive always done it at the +,and I had to look at various hoodoo sources. It doesnt say anything about the T or Y kind, and uses the + constantly as an example. So Id go with the + kind as it seems that is more the consensus.

1) If anyone does not know what a CROSS is, go to church. You will find one on the wall.

2) If anyone does not know what a cross-ROADS is, it is what, if you were flying over it in a helicopter, would look like a CROSS made out of two ROADS.

2) If anyone still does not know what a CROSS is, go back to church again.

I have deleted a lot of fascinating information that was posted about the Y intersection sacred to Hecate in ancient classical European magic because it's nice for the Europeans, but it misses the point. In the CONGO, which is where much hoodoo theory and practice developed, the sacred symbol was an X or + -- not a Y.

We are working conjure here, folks, and i am sure that the connection between the ancient X or + of African Congo symbology found a ready translation in the CROSS of Christianity, and that is why we perform so many rites at a crossroads -- but not at a Y or a T.

We are not playing around with Jungian universalism or one-world-paganism. We are simply practicing African American folk magic.

Yes, some people in hoodoo DO use a Y. But before going down those paths, consider that many more practitioners, if they can't find a place where two paved roads cross, will choose a railroad crossing (where a railroad crosses an auto road) before they would choose a Y -- or they will choose a bridge over a river, even. Why? because those are CROSSES and they replicate the sacred African symbol of the X or +.

Did you know that Congo money used to be made in the form of an X cast in pure copper?

Have you ever heard me say, "like a 5-spot on dice"? -- that's a cross or X too.

Have you ever seen the label for Lucky Mojo Crossing Oil? That's an X-cross.

Have you ever seen the label for Lucky Mojo Uncrossing Oil? Another X-cross.

Have you ever heard me on the radio show or in a reading describe an uncrossing bath by saying, "You put your left hand on your right shoulder and your right hand on your left shoulder, so that your arms make an X and cross across your chest..."? That's an X-cross again.

Have you ever bought a copy of one of my books or read the Lucky Mojo monthly newsletter and seen my signature? That's a cross in there -- a + cross in a circle.

Did you read my "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice" web page on "Laying Tricks and Disposing of Ritual Remains"? There's a picture of the "quincunx" there, the X-cross in a rectangle or square.

Have you ever been to the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers (AIRR) and seen the logo for AIRR? That's an X-cross in there.

Read these pages and you will have the picture:

and

http://www.readersandrootworkers.org/wi ... Crossroads

Also, i am changing the title of this thread. It was "What counts as a crossroad?," as if this were a game and certain things counted and others did not. The new title -- "What is a crossroads?" is more accurate, because that is the real question, to which the answer is -- a place where two roads cross."

After that, i am merging it into the vast pile of posts about Crossroads and Crossroads rituals.

Enjoy!

Find two paths that cross in a park - you should be able to dig more easily there.

Hello everyone. My question is requarding doing my UNCROSSING ritual out of town....[as seen on the directions]

I reside in LAS VEGAS, now my question revolves around my free way of a few cities. N. LAS VEGAS, SUMMERLIN, HENDERSON, SPRING VALLEY and etc.

Being that I have to bury all of my uncrossing supplies out of town, the only town I can think of is near out of state torwards the boarder. [in which is Mesquite, NV] it's an HOUR and 30 minutes away from my residency.

Is it appropriate to bury it there at a crossroads I don't know, or may I choose one of the cities I listed above....I'm thinking I may have to get a fulltank a gas for a ROAD TRIP.

PLEEASE gimmie advice...Thanks.

[P.S. yes, it's the CLOSEST beyond Barstow or another city beyond Arizona or Idaho.]
Thank You SO Much St.Jude

Regarding the idea of sacrifice, in one of her either books/radio shows, Momma Starr mentioned that she didn't sacrifice a chicken but threw money into the crossroad.

I am adding this informationally.

@rojer_w - generally speaking you want to find a quiet out-of-the-way crossroads for the ritual that you are referring to. That way you can sit, undisturbed, in a focused way throughout the night over several nights. A busy crossroads with lots of traffic doesn't lend itself particularly well to this rite...and you certainly don't want to look suspicious and have the cops called on you!

Also, the Black Man of the Crossroads doesn't always appear in physical form. Sometimes he does, many times it is more subtle. He is a spirit after all. So getting caught up on the idea of the physical meeting with the Black Man may not be helpful to you.

I would suggest that you do a bit more research on the history and development of this rite, as well as look at how it is generally practiced - that way you'll have a better idea of what to do and what to expect.

Joan Lee sacrifice to the spirit of the crossroads is not always necessary. Some do choose to leave offerings of whiskey (or rum depending on the region) cigars, and even coins. It is best to let spirit lead you in such matters.
