Hello everyone, I started a honey jar a few weeks ago and according to my rootworker, my husband is coming around to a reconciliation but I see no sign of that...usually when he approaches me he asks me when I'm gonna leave which I always state that I don't want to end our marriage but this time when he approached me he blew up at me telling me he wants me to move out.

Hello, Curious1,

Then, go to a different rootworker because maybe you're not connecting.

Also, this is NOT the thread to place this type of question.

Friendly warning..

Take care

Sorry Miss Aida,
Is there something I can add to my honey jar to give it an extra push? I have my wedding ring and his hair in it along with peaceful home oil and reconciliation.

Hello Curious1,

You could increase the frequency you burn candles on top of it. For example, if you're burning candles on it once a week, step it up to three times a week. If you're at three times a week, step it up to every day for a while. You could also try some of the other spells on this page:

Good luck to you.

Hi Everyone,
Please I need help in setting this honey jar. I am being picked on by my immediate and extended family on what they call "wrong choice in love" but for me it's what I want and I am happy. Though I can do without them, but I still will like to change all that by sweetening them so they will all eventually come around but I will not apologizing for the choice I made. The thing is, it's a very long list of people of more than 10. Do I list all names and cross them with mine?. I don't have their personal concerns but I do have all their pictures, what's the best way to go on this one. What herbs/oils can help in this situation for the honey jar and candle dressing. Hoping white candle is a good choice. I also need help with how to word my petition around their names.
Thank you all. I appreciate every advice

Hello, neonwaosy,

Why don't you take the main leaders of the family and put them and HIM in the honey jar?

Just work the ones that have the most influence on the family

Here is a list of herbs:

www.luckymojo.com/hoodooataglance.html

Also, please read all the pages on this thread for spell ideas

White candle is good.

Take care

That makes sense Ms Aida. Will use the head of the families as they will influence their kids.
Please how do I word the petition around their names......be good to me?, be sweet to me? love me again? or be at peace with?
Thank you

Hello neonwaosy,

Why not put all those things on the petition paper! Also if you really want to learn more about petition papers I would recommend Miss Cat's book Paper In My Shoe (http://www.luckymojo.com/paperinmyshoe.html).

Peace~

I worked on a reconciliation honey jar along with other work and now we are reconciliated! :D I have ordered stay with me spell and waiting for it to arrive and I would like to do a stay with me honey jar too.

Im going to bury the old honey jar and start a new one since the petition is not the same. However, since honey jar is an ongoing work and sometimes it takes time to work, IF, if we break up again while working on the stay with me jar, should I dispose it again or I could continue work on it?

Hello, luckycarol ,

There is no reason to dispose of this honey jar.

Please keep it.

You can start a new one but, store the other one away I the event that you need it.

Wishing you the best

Hello, Curious1,

That's a little strange.

But, sometimes thee jars take longer to work.

Yet, there are times that they just don't.

Yu may want to think about getting a reading on this question

Hi Folks,

Fairly new to hoodoo, been a magick worker since the early 1980s. Longer intro going into the proper thread soon.

My apologies if this has been covered. My search fu appears to have left me this morning.

Honey jar spells are to "sweeten" someone/thing towards the client. So if the client (who is the target's best friend - and stuck in the "friend zone") wants to create a romantic relationship that ultimately leads to marriage and family (general tarot based divinations look pretty favorable). Based upon your experience, which do you folks feel would have a better chance at success:

1) A single honey jar (baby food) with both pictures for the ultimate end goal

2) Multiple jars going simultaneously, all revolving around this theme:
....2a) One with just the target's picture
....2b) One with both client & target
....2c) One jar (baby food) with both pictures

3) Multiple jars going sequentially
....3a) One with just the target's picture
....3b) One with both client & target
....3c) One jar (baby food) with both pictures

Naturally the target is in a relationship (fairly new, but moving quickly - so I've been asked to do some breakup work along those lines as well). I'll post the vinegar jar questions over in the appropriate thread.

But for the sake of completeness should I do the breakup work / vinegar jars before the honey jars or simultaneously?

Thanks in advance for the help. I'll come back and edit this to add a link to the vinegar spell questions so they are reference in the same place.

Hello UrsaSonora,

If it were me doing this work, I think I would do the Break Up work first, and then once you start seeing progress from that and the target is a free agent, start the honey jar for the target and the client, or a sugar jar if you want it to work faster. Create one jar, with both of their pictures/personal concerns in it.

You can read more about honey jars here:

Good luck to you in your work.

I did a honey jar a year and a half ago. As of the moment my love has not yet returned to me fully.

I bring it close to me to give it good vibes and shake it up. In careless move I left it on my bed. I was folding some clothes on my bed and as I was gathering everything the jar fell and broke on the floor. I tried my best not to panic as I thought this is a bad omen. I cleaned it up and put it in a bag. I quickly scanned thru to see what to do but in my worrysome state may have overlooked it.

I buried the contents as best I could outside in the front of my house I had read that somewhere on the forum. I saged the area my to cleanse any negativity.

I still want to be with this man I love him. At times I had wondered if maybe I should start a new one because maybe I had done something wrong didnt use the right herbs or products. But I was proud of my jar because I had put all my good intentions in for the universe to hear my petition.

Did I do the right thing by burying it in front of my yard. Or was I suppose to do something else.

And more importantly is it advisable to do a new one. Like I said I really do love the guy and I really want to fully reconcile with him. I put so much work to have had it this happen I feel lousy. It really was an accident and I am klutzy and careless with fragile things and do tend to break things all the time. Help please!

Could it be a sign? Definitely could be

And, yes, it is just fine to start another one. Let's see what happens. If it breaks again, then you may want to consider a reading

Hello I had something very strange happened with the candle on a love honey jar and I am wondering if anyone knows what it means. I lit it late last night and went to bed. This morning I woke up to look at it and there was about 1/8 of inch of the candle with no wick visible on top of the jar. I picked it up and the wick was on the other side which means that somehow the candle flipped upside down. This candle was not touched by any other human or pet as it is in a protected area. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything where someone has had this situation. The candle was dressed in LM Fire of Love. Any ideas?

Hello, pizzahead ,

That is a form of resistance. You'll have to do another candle.

I hope that for fire safety, it was in a fire proof container, in the sink, bathtub, or has other safety measures.

I have a honey jar that I worked for awhile. However I haven't worked it since 2014. My boyfriend and I are now having problems and I want to know if I can re-open the old jar and add other personal effects and start working it again? Or do I need to dispose of the jar and start a new one?

I read a lot on this thread and in others regarding disposal of wax. However, I was wondering if people dispose of wicks/ash that gathers on top of their honey jars, and if so how? On times when my honey jar burns off all the wax from on top (side note it was a geared to love but at moment is focused more for reconciliation work) It often will have wax build up and then sometimes when the wax all melts off the top/burns up leaving it clean there is always a pile of ash/burnt wicks. I tend to just move them to the side or place my candle on a clean part of the jar top - but was wondering if i decided to dispose of them which would be best and if anyone else does that or just leaves those as well. (thank you)

Hello scooty12,

I think you could dispose of any wicks and ash in the same manner you dispose of the wax. Personally, I just leave the wicks in the holder and push them down with the new candle; they don't seem to get in the way of anything. But I'm not one to clean off my sweetening jars a lot. You can read more about disposing of spell remains here:

thanks for the response Sister Jean!
I'm not a fan of cleaning my jar either (every time I read about people shaking them - i think 'oh i wish mines an ordeal since it's been fused to a plate for almost a year - lol) Although I have been struggling with idea of opening it to add a few more herbs more inline with reconciliation as well as adding a personal concern of my target, but i'm not sure on that.

I don't use a candle holder so I just stick them t the top and the ash pile is quite big, but i think I'll stick with your advise and my gut feeling of just leave them be - they are there for a reason.

thank you for the link!

Hi Miss Aida, I found the honey jar that I mentioned. Above you said that I could work the old jar. However the honey is really sticky and crystallized. In fact a small amount has seeped out of the side. What should I do? I mentioned before that the jar has not been worked in four years, but I wanted to add a piece of underwear.

Hello, Girlbeloved,

Hmm...

Well, if it's seeping out then I would put it away and just start a new honey jar

But crystallization can be reversed by simply placing the jar in hot water

Wishing you great success with your spell

Hi... I placed the jar in hot water and it worked wonders. I managed to get it open and put underwear and added more honey to it. I am currently burning a candle dressed with "clearance" oil on top of it. Should I burn a candle dressed with "peace" oil or "road opener " oil next?

I made my honey jar about 2-3 weeks ago for this guy at work. At the time I wanted to attract him, sexually amongst other things... there was certainly a mention of that in the petition

I worked on it daily and the wax built up for a bit while we drifted apart. Then one day we had a tackle, while we didn't discuss any sort of "attraction", it did dawn on me he most likely has a gf and pretty much admitted to me then he's worried about us being seen together in public because it might give people the wrong idea
The funny thing is that night I put Van Van and Blockbuster oils on the candles I burnt and for the first time, all the wax build up melted away without any more effort on my behalf
We've been talking since, but not as close and as often as before

My intentions following that chat changed. I care about him and mainly want to have him in my life as a friend and possibly work together one day. All my other work started concentrating on that but I did keep working on the honey jar regularly (except, I changed the oils / candles / herbs I used to fit in with the new intention)

I have since then used a red skull candle on the honey jar too (since I didn't have a white one) for the intention of friendship. One of the things I asked him to do - he's told me last night he will be doing so, so that's one success :)

I know the petition inside isn't updated and still includes things I no longer want amongst those I do however I didn't want to open the jar. The energies all seem to be working. I did add an updated petition below the jar since I've used one for another candle...

A part of me is concerned that if the entire petition in the jar affects the work then it won't just be "sweetening" him but also include the sexual parts - things that could, at least as it seemed, scare him away... then again they could also draw him to me (in our industry I find it difficult to believe he's the most loyal person in the world. But it did seem he's scared to be seen with me for a reason)

Considering he's only around for 3 more weeks (and in this time my main concern is creating a channel for staying in touch once he leaves the workplace), I'm guessing creating a new jar with the current intention alone will be pointless? Especially when the current one really seems to be powerful

While lighting a white candle just now with Blockbuster, Crucible of Courage and Attraction (to give him the courage to come to me), I was given some upsetting news (I booked an appointment for him as a present which he was very happy about - turns out he didn't show up. I won't know why til we next see each other and talk... which means I might have to approach him myself)
It's hard for me to be in a good mindset.. the candle is still burning
What do I do?

Good evening everyone,

I have a question about the name writing for honey jar spells. And all spells for that matter. I legally changed my name some years back; should I write my birth name or my new name when doing for example, love drawing spells?

Thank you

I should've waited for your reply cause this morning I removed the petition paper that had my current name and replaced it with a petition paper that has my old name :(.

I have a question about movement but will ask in the proper thread.

Thanks again.

Hello,

Can I just use "Love Herb Mixture" in my reconciliation/love me Honey Jar? It has everything I need and more. How many petitions can go into a honey jar? Can I use the same jar for two or more people if the goal is the same?
Thanks.

Hello venus_babe1012,

If you're talking about a pinch of herbs that you could fold up into the petition paper and place in your honey jar, yes, the Lucky Mojo love herbs mixture would be a fantastic one to use.

And I would use a honey jar only for one "pairing." For example, you and another person, or another person paired with yet another person. NOT you, your target, another person, their target, etc. etc. Hope that's clearer!

I had a lot of leftover wax on the honey jar lately after it was all wiped clean last week. But today I felt compelled to remove the wax. I read some people scrap the wax off but I thought of a different method and for some reason it felt right... I used a purple candle with influence oil and some matches which I actually lit by the influence candle after I prayed over it)
At some point a buried wick caught fire and cleaned the top of the jar until I snuffed it out because there were stuff left over that kept burning
I then cleaned some of the remaining wicks and matches off (there wasn't much)
Now I lit a pink candle with Van Van and Attraction and put some deer's tongue on it

It does feel right but I wondered if people clean wax off this way at all? I felt I wanted to "work" the jar rather than just use it for signs but I don't know if it's something people do

Hello lalyil,

I'm not big on "cleaning" my honey jars, personally; I usually just let the wax do its thing and leave it there to "embrace" the jar. But if you felt compelled to clean yours, that's probably fine the way you did it. You can read more about working honey jars if you start from the beginning of this thread and read all the way through it (from page 1).

You can read more about disposing of spell remains here:

Take care.

Hi All,

I looking for some advice on how to push forward with a honey jar i am currently working. My ex and I separated following a heated argument in Jan this year after 8 years together(we have been friends for 25 years). After 7 days of no communication, he reached out and we have been in contact ever since. We were living together, but he moved in with parents and I got my own place. We talk daily, he tells me he loves me, he calls me his best friend, I'm the only one that gets him etc and we are still sleeping together regularly - however I cannot get him to commit to try again. He has tried "dating" other women - one rather dangerous lady involved with gangs and drugs (a vinegar jar took care of that :D ) but constantly complains to me that they are not like me and dont "get" him. None have lasted more than one meeting and he has not slept with any of them. I know he wants to get back together (he has said so on more than one occassion) and we go away for weekends together as well but pride and fear seem to be an issue, he gets close then backs away all the while telling me how lonely he is. I started my honey jar 1 week ago (burning pink/white/red candles) and have seen positive results - he turned down an invitation to a singles mixer to stay in, he is more loving less lusty and we are closer and communicating better than we have been in years. What I would like is advice on what oils/incense etc I can use to move him forward into our relationship again? I am thinking of using blue candles(?) along with the pink and white, Stay with Me/Follow Me Boy? I do live outside the US so I cannot order any spell kits that contain plant or animal matter (our customs dept. will seize it on entry) but oils etc are ok. Any thoughts on what to use or additional workings would be appreciated.

Hello phoenixrising77,

It sounds like you are having steady progress toward your goals so congratulations on that. For suggestions on other oils to add to what you are doing I would recommend Stay With Me oil (http://www.luckymojo.com/staywithme.html) and or even Marriage Oil (http://www.luckymojo.com/marriage.html). For candle colors I am not sure what your reasoning is behind using blue candles. I would recommend staying with Pink or Red candles for this.

Peace~

Nathen

Hi Nathen,

Thanks for that :-) I had considered the Blue for healing but I will stick to my original work.

When I made my honey jar a little over a month ago I put it in a frying pan for safety reasons

Now since then dozens of candles have been lit obviously. Including two skull candles which left most wax
At times they burn clean but when they don't I tend to clean the top of the jar myself with matches
Unfortunately now the entire flying pan is a huge puddle of wax with the honey jar stuck in the center

Mere hands can't seem to get it out so I was wondering if there's a tool that's strong enough to lift/break/cut out or etc for wax?
Melting the entire thing seems almost impossible

Hello lalyil,

Is there a reason for you to want to remove the honey jar from it's wax nest? Are you done working it? The only thing I can think of is if you can some how rest the pan on top of a pot of water and set that water to boiling so you can steam heat the wax enough to loosen it. You would not want the pan itself placed directly on the heat as that could crack your jar.

Peace~

Nathen

My ex boyfriend has historically responded really well and quickly to honey jar spells. Before I got fed up and broke up with him during the last rocky period, the wax kept melting into the shape of a man and a woman embracing. But I got fed up and threw it away because he made the breakup really messy and ugly where I had to call police. The dust settled and More recently, the wax burns into heart shapes, and the flame is heart shaped. Even when I put oils into my hand, it splatters into the shape of a heart. I've recently been getting a sense to start anew and stop the commanding and Saint Martha work on him. Can I use items already in the jar? Or just start fresh?

Do honey jars still follow the same rule of thumb as other root work? As in, signs appearing in three days, movement in three weeks, etc? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but just wonder since it is designed to work over time if the signs and movement follow a different time frame. Thanks for your help!

Hello, Sox1111,

yes, I would start a new honey jar but I would NOT quit working with the Saints (as it shows that you have no faith in them).

The 3-3-3 is not a rule. Sometimes spells work faster, other times much slower.

Wishing you the best

take care

Set the pan in a larger pan , into which you will pour water until it comes about halfway up the sides of the pan your work is in. Now you have an improvised double boiler. Start the water simmering until the wax starts to melt around the edges of the pan and (hopefully) around the jar. Then you should be able to lift the jar right out.

If it only melts around the edges of the pan, you can lift the whole business out, jar and wax and all, and use a hammer, or maybe a hammer and chisel, to break the wax off without touching the jar.

You'll still be left with a thin film of candle wax on the pan, which will be very difficult to remove entirely, so you probably won't want to cook with it again.

Thank you. Things got really really bad between us. He believed lies told about me by a man he already knew was badmouthing me... still he believed him

While the top of the jar was clear despite all of this - I figured maybe the wax all around it was the issue
Yesterday I put hot hot water in the pan and made cuts in the wax with a knife to help the water get in. I poured it all into a cheap plastic bowl (which is now solid wax. Can probably make a nice candle out of it hah) and eventually managed to get the honey jar out. It has a tiny bit of wax around it still and used a knife to remove what I could of it
I dried it then immediately wrote a new petition and placed it below the jar while burning an orange candle with road opener on it. It burnt almost clear. Tiny bit of wax left

We're not in contact now and I might not see him again so I just want to keep working on it a little longer to help him see sense and think of me fondly as I deserve

To make my own jar for sweet wishes (such as was the one found with hundreds of strips of paper in it), should each of the papers be written and prepared in petition form?
To all the saints and angels thanks for intercession upon my behalf

Shutter,

By "petition form", do you mean "phrased as a request"? That's one way. It could also be an affirmation or even a command. There are many, many effective ways to write petition papers. Enough -- and more -- to fill a book on the subject:

Paper in My Shoe by catherine yronwode

There's this entire board, too:

Amulets, Charms, Seals, Papers, and Jewelry in Hoodoo

Have fun :)

Hello, nino_x3

Birthday candles are not recommended.

That's fast and sloppy work

Sorry!

Hello,

I'm planning on making a love drawing honey jar, as these spells have worked well for me in the past, and I am planning to add a vanilla bean among other things, the bean I have though is larger than the jar I will use, is it OK if I cut it and use a piece of it or all of the pieces instead of the whole pod?

Hello, Morrigan,

I personally don't work with vanilla beans I these type jars but, yes, you can cut it and use a piece.

Take care
