Howdy from Texas

Hi. I'm Brandi. I've been a lurker for a while and have already made one posting here (beetles appearing in my home after making a commitment to formally study magic) and felt I should probably introduce myself formally before getting further involved. I find the forum here a wonderful resource and the people most helpful, and hope to be a long participating member.

I am widely but shallowly versed in many magical systems, native american magic, Santeria, wicca and it's many derisions mostly, and tantra/sacred sexuality, on top of various knowledge, some hoodoo, gleaned from my southern elders and childhood. My family is from Louisiana, South and West Texas (mostly west), and New Mexico; and very conservative Christian, having purged the family lore of most of our magical roots in the generation just before mine. I am also an empath and claircognisent.

My life until now has been mostly focused on my single motherhood from the early age of 15, often not allowing for much in depth magical study or practice due to various circumstances- financial, time constraints. Ultimately simply not being ready and knowing that. I have been operating a vintage store for the last year, but have also been a freelance web designer for about 7 years. Before that I worked as a sex worker in various forms, stripper, phone sex, escort. I connected with my magical, empathic, and healing abilities through this work, which many will not understand or appreciate, but which is an experience I value very much. I intend to continue my studies in these paths in addition to my work with hoodoo.

I am drawn to hoodoo for many reasons. It's practical approach..there is nothing standing between me and practicing except for knowledge- I am empowered to use my own abilities and draw on the powers of the ingredients, spirits, and actions to enhance that. It's Christian base, which resonates with my spiritual education and ancestry. The way it blends all of the cultural influences I, as a Southerner, have grown up around. So much more, I could go on and on!

Finally, my praises to LM's products: I had purchased other oils before finding LM and I have to say that the difference in quality is markedly noticeable. My order arrived very quickly and the free prayer paper included in my order made me feel (even if everyone gets one and they are just randomly grabbed and put in the box) like I got a special little bit of unexpected good wishes from LM meant just for me.

And to the Lucky Mojo set of websites: an amazing and special resource. I look forward to my hour or four each evening reading through the new knowledge, and appreciate cat's mission to personally empower me and others to have the knowledge to learn to practice for myself.

I'd love to know if anyone is from the Central Texas area, it's nice to have fellow hoodooers to chat with in addition to the resources here. I look forward to getting to know others here better and participating as I learn more.
Thank you Saint Martha for hearing my petition and for your ongoing good works for myself and others.
