hello I'm new

Unread post by Nixiac-Pharie » Mon Jul 21, 2014 3:04 am

Hello,

I joined these forums a little while ago. Took me a little while to learn how to use them & I'm still learning. I recently posted asking for help in getting rid of my troublesome, mentally ill neighbour but was advised that I may have posted it in the wrong part of the forums. Please see my post under spells for dealing with a crazy, violent or annoying neighbour.
About me. I am a traditional witch. I am a heathen traditional witch. Let me clarify what this means. A traditional witch is not a wiccan or a British traditional witch. BTW British traditional witchcraft, traditional wicca, wicca & non wiccan witchcraft or all very different to traditional witchcraft. Real traditional witchcraft deals with the beliefs of the pre Celtic indigenous people's of the British ilses. You cannot learn it by reading about it or asking me questions or posting questions about it on forums like Traditional Witchcraft Forum's. You cannot learn it from spiritual guides, ancestors etc either. To have the tradition you absolutely MUST receive it in person. There is no way around this. If you do not receive it in person then you do not have it. You can read books about certain branches of traditional witchcraft like those by Nigel Jackson or Michael Howard. However the problem with those is that they are specific to only one branch of traditional witchcraft. Same with mine. My tradition is specific to Germanic or heathen traditional witchcraft specifically pre Celtic Germanic practices. So that's a bit about me.

Now I am new to these forum's but have read Cat's Hoodoo Herb & Root Magic & loved it. I have her other two books now as well. I am interested in learning more about hoodoo & so here I am

Thanks

Nixi

Hello, Nixi,
Welcome to the forum and to the Lucky Mojo family!!
There are many eclectic practitioners here. And even Wiccans. So, you're amongst your own.
However, we do ask that we only address Hoodoo on this forum.
I am posting the most popular threads and forum rules for you to browse.
If you have any questions, we are always here for you
Hoping that you'll enjoy Hoodoo!!

These are links to general information on Hoodoo and to give you a jumping off point.

Hoodoo History:

Oils:

Baths:

Herbs:

Conditions and how we can address them:

Here is some info on how the forums are set up. It is divided into four parts:

1) News and Announcements about the Lucky Mojo Curio Company and this site.

2) Lucky Mojo Spiritual Supplies and how to use them, listed in threads by product type and product title.

3) Life Conditions and Situations, with recommended Lucky Mojo products, spells, and advice.

4) The Online Hoodoo Community, including sites, events, and outreach sponsored by Lucky Mojo.

When you post, it helps your moderators, who are recompensed volunteers, if you post in the area of the board that is best suited to the archival of your question or comment. That way moderators will not have to move your post or merge it into ongoing threads.

If you can't find a post you made, it may have been moved or merged. Go to your profile by clicking on your name and "search recent posts" -- you will find it.

Within each board section there are STICKY threads -- ones that always stay "stuck" to the top. These are popular discussion-threads that you can read and add to if your questions or comments fall into one of these oft-broached topics. If you don't see a "sticky" that relates to your question, feel free to start a new thread in the relevant section.

We do have a few "thou shalt not" rules here, and they can be found in the Forum Rules link at the top of each page. Most important for newbies are these four common errors to avoid:

1) Please do not come here asking for our formulas for conjure oils or for instructions on how to use spiritual supplies that you bought at a grocery store or at a competitor of ours; this is the Lucky Mojo Forum and is financially supported by the Lucky Mojo Curio Co.

2) Please do not spam the moderators by sending multiple duplicated private messages asking for personal help outside the board; many of our moderators do perform readings and rootwork spell-casting for clients, but they are professionals and you should approach them as you would any other professional.

3) Please do not post illegal copies of material from other web sites or from books.

4) Please do not post put-downs of any group of people based on their religion, race, or national origin, including derogatory comments about religions to which you may have previously been an adherent or comments in which you seek to falsely conflate any religion with the practice of evil sorcery.

Hello again Miss Aida,

Thank you again for your replies. I am going to browse through the links you have kindly provided later when I have more time & try to familiarize myself with the forums better. I already have some of the lucky mojo curio companies pages bookmarked for research. May I ask where I would post questions about alum & it's properties? Ie is it used for cleansings or protection? Would the life circumstances, conditions & situations with recommended spells etc be a better place to ask questions about removing my awful neighbour?

I never post or say anything derogatory about anyone based on skin colour, race, religion, etc. I base my opinions about people on how they are & the way that they act. So if your a prick I'll base my judgement on you personally & not on your religion, race, etc etc. I am not anti wicca or Christian or any other religion. I simply don't follow those religions but I'm not opposed to them. I am not religious in the sense that it is commonly understood which is to bind oneself to their god or gods. I have a close working relationship to my gods but I do not place them on a pedestal & worship them. I respect them yes but I don't offer obseciances to them. I am not opposed to eclectics, eclecticism or fluffies. We all start somewhere.

So I am looking forward to learning more about hoodoo & conjure workings now. I have read Cat's book Hoodoo Herb & Root Magic, I have her other two books which I am reading now, I have read some of The Lucky Mojo Curio Company website pages, I've bookmarked some of those for further study. So far my study of herbalism has been from a Germanic & Anglo Saxon background I have also studied aromatherapy & herbalism for medicinal home use. This last qualification doesn't qualify me to treat others just myself. I have lots of dried herbs at home, I grow some of my own herbs & plants. This is one of my areas of interest. I am looking forward to learning more

Pleased to meet you

Nixi
