Question...I was burning my honey jar earlier this afternoon, something came up and I had to go out. Of course, I didn't want to leave the candle burning by itself. So, I didn't want to "blow" out the candle, I just moved it around and it went out. After I got home, I lit the candle again. I hate to think that the work got effected. Does this mean I have to start over?

Hi IceMachine,

You want to pinch or snuff out a candle, to signify to spirit that the work is not done and you will be back to complete it. I would start another candle.

Good luck.

The honey inside the honey jar im working has solidified. Does this mean anything in particular? Should I start over?

Hi lucky7clover,

That happens. You could warm the jar in hot water to get it flowing again.

Good luck.

I've decided to work on my original target again. I have the jar, it's a little dirty from wax etc. I also noticed there's a petition under it, unfolded, I can't quite remember what it's for, also kinda confused as I'm sure I had put my petition in the jar itself, along with a pic of the target. I also had a pic of us together stuck on it, that's somehow under the jar and stuck to the petition also. I can't get another picture since I have no ink and my printer ink is extremely expensive. My worker is unreachable at the moment, she said don't start again, just cleanse it with salt water.

I'm thinking, do I just put in the sink with some salt water and wash it off?

Also, what do I do with the random petition and picture that seems to be stuck to it? Is it less effective without the picture? At one I thought it could be a petition from the 2nd girl I had worked on and maybe someone put it under it, but I'm sure I wrote that petition on the back of her picture. This is a plain white piece of paper.

I'm mostly confused about the cleansing, since I can't get into contact with my worker.

I have never purchased a Honey Jar Spell Kit before. How large are the honey jars, because I want to put multiple names in the jar. Actually, I want to put wallet size pictures of the intended targets in the jar with their names on the other side of the pictures. How many names can I realistically put in one jar? If not enough, then I will have to order multiple spell kits.

Hi maduro01,

The jars are large enough for a couple of petitions, but if you have many people to sweeten, you may need several kits. It would be best for you to contact the shop and they will advise you.

Good luck.

I now have a honey jar large enough to hold a pull-out vigil candle. I am going to go ahead and use a 7-day vigil candle as a part of my honey jar spell.

I'm not sure if this goes here, but I have a situation:

My sister desperately wants to have a child and start a family with her boyfriend/fiance. Right now they are living with his parents so it is not ideal for having a child, but she's trying to get him motivated to move out.

The main problem is her boyfriend was married once before and had a child with the ex, and then they both agreed that he should get a vasectomy. My sister had a talk with him and he is on the fence about having a kid because he's afraid to get the vasectomy reversed.

So my sister wants me to find something to help him see her point of view because she's never had the chance to start a family and she really wants to. My question is, would a honey jar to sweeten him to her be the thing to do? What should I do?

My wife and I are having a very challenging time with my 16-year-old stepson. He's into some bad stuff and his attitude has been terrible. I figure a good first step is to get to work on a honey jar to sweeten up that bad attitude.
It's my understanding that if my focus is sweetening him and his attitude (because if his attitude improves then much else has the potential to be better), then I only need to write his name alone (three times?) on the name paper and I need only include his personal concerns. Is this accurate?

Guys you have to go to work right? You cant be leaving the candle burning all day? Do you leave it in candle holder or something?
If so how do you explain to your friends/ relatives?

If I use pictures of the target in the honey jar, do I still need to use name paper? If I can use both, do I put the herbs and oils on the picture, name paper or both? Also, can I put my sexual fluids on the name paper or pictures?

Best,

Maduro

Hi Deep Woods Matt,

Your honey jar is a good idea. I would use a photo of him and write his name and birthdate on the reverse side. You can include his personal concerns in the photo (fold it around them).

If his attitude is due to the influence of other people, you could hotfoot them or put them in a vinegar jar.

Good luck.

Hi dppagc,

Do not leave candles unattended if you can avoid it. If you can't, then glass-enclosed ones are best, and make sure they are on a fireproof dish. I put them in the bathtub and close the door so my dogs do not nose around in there.

Good luck.

Hi maduro01,

You can use a picture in place of a name paper. Just do as I mentioned above, write your target's name and birthdate on the back of it. You can wrap personal concerns and herbs in it.

If this is for love, I would suggest a photo of the two of you, fold it in half so you face each other and use your sexual fluids on your target's face to bind you together.

Good luck.

Hello
I searched the forum already but i couldnt find too much info about my questions.
I want to make a honey jar for myself to be sweet and nice, more calm and patient with my mother and especially with my bf (because i give him a hard time, this is just how i am but i want to change this behaviour). I have a good feeling it will work because is about me and i put all my will in it so it is easier than to influence other person.
I checked the book "Hoodoo herb and Root magic"
And i was thinking to use Lavender, basil, marjoram, sage, rosemary.
Pine to remove negativity
Yarrow to overcome my fears and suspicions?
And on petition paper to write my name and on it to write " Be more calm, be nice, be sweet, have patience, stop to fight " and the same on a circle.
Would this be the right way to do?

I want to order for Tranquility oil to dress the candles (which i think white is the most suitable colour) for honey jar and to anoint myself when i need. However i didnt find too much info about tranquility on the order page/description page but i read something on the forum.
Please, i would like to hear your opinions.

To whom it may concern:
I bought two honey jars for reconciliation and love and I have been working them pretty regularly. I put them in larger honey jars that I liked, but it turns out that they don't seal well and it is starting to solidify. I read in Deacon Millets book that is fine, but I would like to put them in a better sealed container as these tend to leak sometimes when the candles burn down. I was going to heat it up and once liquid just change them over because I have jars that I know will stay sealed and keep the honey fresh longer. Any suggestions?

Hello, Isd ,

You've got a good plan there!

Also, here is a quick guide to the herbs (and other products) http://www.luckyojo.com/hoodooataglance.html

I have noticed from your past posts that you really have great ideas and seem to really know what to do. I think you would be a great professional rootworker. Have you considered taking Miss cat's course?

Anyway, good luck. I'm sure you'll be successful with your spells

Hello, Combat18 ,

Since this will be bigger (and have more volume), I would add fresh petition papers and any other personal concerns and more herbs.

Good luck

I am loving this honey jar, because of the variety of candles (image, genitalia, vigil, taper, lovers, etc.) that can be used to influence its work.

I think I just may have ruined my honey jar... I have been working on my Love Me honey jar for about three weeks now and have had a lot of success with lots of movement. To give you a little background, my ex and I broke up last year due his desire of wanting to be in an open relationship. When we first started dating, he wanted to be exclusive and even spoke of marriage with me but somewhere something changed and things ended. (I am not interested in an open relationship).

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to obtain some of his semen and without reading back through the forum I added it into my honey jar. :o Now reading through, I see that it was to be dry. Have I completely ruined my spell work? I really haven't noticed any changes as this just happened yesterday. What should I expect or look for? Any insight would greatly help, thank you all!

Hello desertflower,

I would not worry over this. I do not think it is an absolute requirement for the semen to be dry. You are putting it something that has moisture to it any way. Just keep working it. I believe it will work just fine. Glad you were able to acquire some! That is defiantly movement in the right direction!

Peace~

This might be a silly question, but when we make the small packet which consists of the name paper with personal concerns and appropriate herbs folded into it, do we seal the name paper shut with tape or string or anything like that? I haven't done mine yet (waiting to read miss cat's new book on name papers and petition papers), but I keep imagining that the paper will unfold itself over time and disperse its contents into the honey if it isn't sealed shut somehow.

Hello, just a quick question about honey jars. Is it advisable or necessary to make new honey jars after a certain period of time? Do they "go bad" in any way? I've been working the same one for several years.

Regarding my question above about how to keep the herbs, personal effects, etc. from falling out of the petition paper - never mind. I just got miss cat's new book, "Paper in my Shoe," and it answers that question. miss cat shares a method of folding the petition paper which makes a small packet or envelope which keeps the contents from dispersing. I'm hungrily devouring the book - it's excellent!

Hi roguedeer,

Honey jars can last years so you don't need to remake them unless something happens to the jar. They won't "go bad" on their own.

Good luck.

I've been working my honey jar now for several months and have had great success with it. The man I made it for is back in my life and we are building a great relationship. I've never been happier! But I have a question about my jar. Wax has dripped down the sides and at times when I move the jar in order to light the candle, little pieces of wax will break off. What should I do with these pieces? Also, the wax seems to have dripped all around the lid of the jar, and it looks as if its formed a seal around the jar between the lid and the jar. Is that a good thing or it doesn't mean anything? Even if I wanted to open the jar to add something I don't think I could. I would hate to break the seal that the wax seems to have formed. Oh and one more question, I've run out of my taper candles and am waiting for more to arrive from LM. If I burn tea lights on the jar is better to take them out of the tin they come in and let the wax melt and run all over or keep it i the tin? Thanks!

I've a few questions about honey jars.
I have a honey jar that's about 3 1/2 years old. I worked it hard initially then dialed back to burning candles every other week on it. It NEVER caught fire. Every once in a while it did become crystalized and I would warm it up in some hot water, or sometimes a sunny window.
Over the winter it wound up in the basement of our new house, which is heated.
Long story short out of the blue my boyfriend of 4 years says 'we're done'.
Ooook.
What happened here? It's entirely possible my own carelessness caused issues, yes. But the other honey jars down there weren't solid. This one's old and strong too. Is it possible this was caused by a curse?
As soon as the man said done, I said OK, and within 3 days we were both in full backpedal. Not breaking up but still on shaky ground. That was the first time either of us consider parting ways and we're both still a bit in shock that for a brief time we did, with no hesitation.

I went through the basement and found the honey jar. It was SOLID. Not crystalized but everything inside was rock solid, like looking into amber
After that I boiled some water and warmed the jar, it took some work but I did the contents to start to move and work around again. It's taken some work but it seems the jar is going strong again.
Or is it? Is it possible it's causing some of the anxiety - like now working against us?
Do I dispose of it and make a new one?
*scratching head* Seriously - the thing was solid, like it was frozen solid. I added whiskey and corn syrup to the mix (because he likes soda a lot). Not sure, but those don't usually freeze. Not in a 50 degree basement.
Need some advice on this.

lilaputin,

Best advise I can give is to get a reading to see if something else is at play. IE is someone working to break you up and steal your man? Is he cheating on you and another lover? Is the carelessness of the work causing it? These can all be answered from a reader. Also what work to do here on out. However some helpful advise till then is first cleanse the home you and him ( if you can get him to or sneak it into body wash, soap etc. Then replace the energy now with love energy so wash down the house with a bath of love herbs like rose, cat nip etc. Honey jars dont curse you, people curse you, hoeny jars dont cause anxiety other factors do. Now honey does crystalise which is a normal process, problem is when it does things become stuck, not moving , etc so yes you need to hear it up shake it up and work it to get it going and moving again which should show improvement in your relationship. The items are not frozen they are crystalizing. I also dont mix fluids in a jar like that unless its personal concerns. Try shaking and loving the jar a bit and warming it up keeping it warm and melting the crystals. then burn a run of candles on it. Stick with a once a week working the jar. I also like to add candles or items next to my jar to help with that. So in your case I would add a blue candle with clarity, white with healing and reconcilation on a pink candle. I would put balm of gilead buds and magnets around it. Change it up as your relationship needs change. Best of luck!

Hi, I hope someone can help me... Any suggestions would be helpful. I did a honey Jar spell 3 months ago for reconciliation. I buried it in my back yard. I live in an apartment complex so the back yard is a good size. My friend was helping me wash and discovered the bottle laying in the dirt. I acted as if I didn't know who it belonged to but my friend just picked it up and threw it in the grass. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks in advance to anyone that response:)

So up until a few hours ago, I thought my honey jar was working extremely well. I had seen signs of movement from my ex that looked promising. Well this evening, he decided to share that he slept with another woman and wanted to tell me because we had been intimate and he wanted to be honest with me. Mind you, he has verbalized no interest of a relationship which is the reason I started my honey jar in hopes of encouraging him my way again. Well, I had also done a freezing spell to keep other women away from him and it seems to have little effect. Nonetheless, I am devastated. So my question is should I continue with my spell, start over, is there something more I should be doing? Are setbacks like this common? I've only been working my jar for 20 days now so am I expecting too much too soon?

Hi Moonbeam38,

Congratulations on getting your man back into your life! That is wonderful!

Your jar is working for you, so don't stress about not being able to add anything to it. If the wax has sealed the lid, it's best to not tamper with it.

Any wax that breaks off should be buried in your back yard to keep those loving feelings close to you.

You can use tea lights in their little tins or take them out, it's up to you. Different people work those differently so it's just a matter of preference.

Good luck, I hope things stay sweet in your relationship!

Hi lilaputin,

If it were me, I would put that old honey jar under my bed and start a new one. Include Balm of Gilead to smooth over your past hurts together.

As for whether someone might be cursing your relationship, I agree that a reading would be in order.

Good luck, I hope your relationship gets back to being a happy one soon!

Hi desertflower,

It may be too soon to start rethinking work you're doing. Sometimes situations get worse before they get better.

Your best bet is to get a reading from Hoodoo Psychics or AIRR. They can find out what is behind the current dynamics in your relationship, and can advise on any other work you could be doing.

Sweet jars are pretty straightforward and great when working for me, but how do the dynamics change if I want another person to be sweetened? That is to say, how do I fix it so my mother will like/be nicer to my girlfriend?

Hi Naexis,

You would start another jar for the two of them. This is why sugar jars are so useful, too -- you can use the sugar to feed them cookies or something you have made from the sugar that was in the bowl that holds both of their names. See many examples of this kind of work here, in Deacon Millett's books:

Did you try Come To Me oil? I mean, the other oils are all good & well, but the issue seems to be getting him to come to you. So do Come To Me w/ a white candle on Monday, pink on Wednesday, then red on Friday.

Hi Polipoli,

Honey jars are notoriously slow to act. Give it time, but also think about adding to your menu of work such as laying tricks for him when you see him: rub some love oils on your hands and give him a big hug, lay powders in his home, dress food with your menstrual blood, carry a mojo to attract him to you, etc. You have many options, so layer your approach to maximize your chance of success.

Good luck!

Miss Athena, thank you so much for answering my question. I've been saving all those little pieces of wax and I will bury them. But do I need to put them in something? Wrap them in something or put them in a little box or can I just bury them in the ground as is?

I just received my bride and groom candle in the mail and was originally going to burn it as a separate intention towards my guy. But I was wondering, in place of a ritual candle, can I burn this on the honey jar instead? Or is it better to burn it seperately? Thanks!

Hello, Moonbeam38 ,

It's best to wrap them up and bury them

And, yes, of course you can burn that bride and groom on the honey jar

Wishing you great success

take care

Hello! I'm preparing to do a honey jar spell, the purpose of which is to attract someone back (distance, both physical and emotional, is involved - though there was no fight or disagreement) to a small organization. On the petition paper, would it be wise to cross his name with the name of the organization, or should I use my name? Also, what LM oils would be best to dress the candle in this situation? I was thinking Come To Me, Attraction, maybe even Follow Me Boy? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding wax on top of the honey jars. I made my honey jar, everything went smoothly. I used the smaller, 4 inch tall and 1/2 inch wide candles on top, melted it a little so it would stick on the lid and it stayed in place. So far, so good, right?

Well, after the candle finished burning, there was a pile of wax left on top. I figured that the next candle would melt that remaining wax and let it drip over the side. Nope. So, although it's only been two days, and thus two candles, there is a pile of wax on top. Does this mean anything? Or will it just make my life difficult in trying to attach more candles to an uneven surface?

Thanks so much!

Hello all,

I began a honey jar on my ex this week along with some moving candle work that I was pleasantly surprised by.

I know honey jars are slow to begin working and this is my first one so I'm just wondering if anyone has any feedback on what I included: I was able to get hairs from his razor (he has a shaved head) when I lucked into being able to come up to his apt to use the restroom. (managed to find his new partner's hair on the tub and took that with me too for some work to split them up but that's for a different post. ;) ) I also managed to wipe some attraction oils from my hands onto a sweatshirt I dropped off with him. In my jar I included his hair and my own in my petition paper (not tied together. His are too short), lavender to commit him to me, cloves to strengthen the bond of friendship between us, ginger and cumin for his love to burn true for me, his business card, a photo of us with our names and birth dates written in red on the back and my name in red on his forehead, and a clipping of the phrase "I love you" in his handwriting from a Valentine's Day card he gave me. The first red candle I burned on it burned clean and left no wax. The second burned and dripped down one side and out quite a bit onto the altar.

Any thoughts?

I decided to start a new honey jar on a new target. I met him 3 months ago, he gave me his business card. Is it ok to just use a business card that he personally gave me?

Hello roguedeer,

If you are doing the work on behalf of the organization, to bring this individual back to the group, then cross his name with that of the organization.

In addition to your Attraction oil, I would use Return to Me since he walked away and you want him to turn around and walk back.

Good luck.

Hi panickedmoose,

First a rogue deer and now a panicked moose...LOL!

If the wax remains are little candle stumps that didn't burn at the end, they would suggest there is more work to be done to achieve your goals. If it is just a mess of melted wax, then look and see if you can spot any symbols or signs. Candles speak to us all the time, not just while they're burning. You can read more on divination here:

http://www.luckymojo.com/candlemagicdivination.html

If the wax is making it difficult to set another candle on top of your jar, just scrape it off to clear the lid. Keep those remains, wrap them up and bury them in your front yard if you are trying to draw your target to you or in your back yard if you are trying to keep your target with you.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Hi LoverFish,

You did a great job collecting personal concerns and laying tricks in his apartment. Congratulations!

Your jar sounds good. Don't be too concerned about wax dripping or puddling, just pay attention to any signs or symbols in those remains. As I said in my response above, candles will communicate with us if we only pay attention. You might learn something important. Did the wax that dripped out onto the altar appear to be heading in a particular direction or reaching for something specific on your altar? These are things we pay attention to, and perhaps learn something useful in the process.

Now it's time to put that rival's hair to work for you!

Good luck!
