I have recently gone to my front door, lifeted the door mat to find 4 pennies face down in a row. There was another near by face up . Should I be concerned?

Four is an unlucky number among those who speak Chinese. Four face-down pennies may be set there to cause your money to run out if you have a Chinese enemy.
Contrariwise, four is a sacred number among many Native Americans, and if the coins have eagles on the tail side, as some do, then four eagles would be lucky and protective.
Likewise, some Black Indians, such as Afro-Cherokees, place four Indian Head Cents (or Indian Nickels) face up under the mat to function as "scouts" or "lookouts" and to keep away the law.

I happen to know because I looked into it on a whim when I was contemplating the sustainability of non-natural materia in hoodoo. I mean, we're burying and flushing and leaving in crossroads all sorts of things!
The Mercury Head Dime was minted from 1916-1945, with two or three mintmarks a year, so there were millions put into circulation. Unless you're interested in perfect specimens or rare mistakes, the silver dime is widely available for not much money. Lucky Mojo sells them for a few bucks, as would most coin shops.

True, and for the Mercury dime, leap years would be 1916, 1920, 1924, 1928, 1932, 1936, 1940, and 1944.

Hello All.
I was reading about Mercury dimes on The "Lucky W" Amulet Archive and have a couple questions about the use and condition of the dimes.
Usually, I can figure/interpret these things myself, but these practices have me temporarily stumped! Thank you.

I was reading about Mercury dimes on The "Lucky W" Amulet Archive and have a couple questions about the use and condition of the dimes.
Why filings from the milled edge of the dime --is the reason simply because that is the easiest or most logical place on the dime to obtain the tiny shavings? --or are there other reasons?Dimes are also used to counteract a curse in hoodoo practice. Typical recipes involve boiling a dime or the filings from its milled edges in water or milk and drinking the liquid to "kill" the effects of occult poisons such as graveyard dirt, goofer dust, rattlesnake eggs, or snake-shed dust.
Why, specifically, a filed-edge dime in a Nation Sack? What is the significance/advantage of a filed-edge Mercury dime over a non-worked milled edged Mercury dime?9 DIMES IN NATION SACK: PROTECTION AND TRADE: 13008. {Get} nine silver dimes, file them, {and} wear in {a} nation sack with lodestone for protection and trade. [For the well-known nation sack, private bag worn by women, see interview, THE "NATION SACK" WOMAN, pp. 1449-1459, especially p. 1458, vol. 2] [Memphis, Tenn., (967), 1564:7]

Greetings everyone,
I just got news yesterday that a very close friend of mine is up and having to move away in a couple of weeks, and I wanted to make a Safe Travel Mojo Hand http://www.luckymojo.com/safetravel.html for him. I've got nearly everything on hand except a "scout cent" and was wondering if a Sacagawea dollar could be used as a replacement.
These forums have been a wonderful treasure chest of information. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Hi!
I was just reading through the forums and thought I would point out that no dimes were minted in 1932-33. this thing called the Depression and all. None were minted.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
does anyone know if silver dimes are used for protection? Reason I ask is because from my reading it stated that they are usually used as signs of become crossed/Jinxed/etc. If not can Indian head pennies be used for protection against layed messes/tricks? If dimes can be used I was looking for the mercury silver dime anklet but I am unable to locate it on LM.
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
i know they can be used for counteracting jinxes/crossed conditions/curses if you ingest a specially prepared drink made by the use of silver dimes. But what about putting them in your shoes or as a bracelet? As I stated earlier that the impression I got from my readings is that they are typically used for as a warning sign that you have been crossed, etc.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
But that, in and of itself, is a form of protection. Alarm systems on cars and houses alert you to the presence of intruders so that you can defend yourself - they don't actually attack the robbers in any way. Being aware when someone has started to work against you is a very good life of defense, and hence a form of protection.
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
do you know if they can actually, "prevent" you from being crossed? As I was contemplating of dressing the dimes with FNTWOE. What about the indian head pennies? Can they be dressed and put into your shoes for actual protection in the "stopping" the jinx sense?

I saw on the AIRR website that Prof. Porterfield makes silver dime charms. There is a picture on his page.
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Thanks for this thread -- I came here intending to ask if we really have to throw these dimes away after a job. But of course it makes sense to get rid of them (unless there is some way to cleanse them?) and, if millions were made, I don't feel so bad about it.
Thanks,
Zagone

Well what do you mean by a job? There is a lot you can do with them, if its say on an anklet and it turns black or falls off no you do not have to throw it away, clean it, polish it, pray over it and set it back to work.zagone wrote:Thanks for this thread -- I came here intending to ask if we really have to throw these dimes away after a job. Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Stupid question, does the silver mercury dime contain mercury? If so, it would be toxic to shave it and ingest it on a frequent basis. I am going to purchase one, but I dont want to do it a lot if it actually contains mercury.
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
There is no mercury in mercury dimes. They are called mercury dimes because the depiction of lady liberty on the dimes looks like the god Mercury. And that's not a stupid question at all, the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
HailDiscordia -- Yup, what do I mean by job? I was thinking at the time of money attraction spells...
The better way for me to phrase this question then might be: Under what circumstances can spell components be reused? Under what circumstances must they be discarded? I'm thinking mainly of the dimes, but this may be a general question.
Thanks,
Michael

From what I read in LM and after speaking to a few hoodoo doers, and this is for the herbs and roots aspect of hoodoo, as long as the herbs are not rotten or decrepid in any way, still have their natural color and smell, do not smell spoiled then you can use them as long as you like. The general rule of thumb however is year for roots and herbs.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Silver filing from dimes are simple to explain, once you have a silver dime in your hand, and a metal file.
The dime is made with tiny ridges all around the edge. This is called "reeding."
Take the file and carefully scrape off the ridges until the dime has a more or less smooth edge, like a nickle or a penny.
These silver filings (and they must be from a silver dime, not a modern non-silver sime) can be used in a variety of spells. See my book HHRM for a number of silver dime spells, including freeing oneself of evil spirits by drinking milk in which you have boiled the silver filings.

To zagone and Haildiscordia -- in hoodoo, casting a spell is often called doing a job, and the spell is called a trick or a job or even a job of work.
Good luck.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Hi,
I bought a spell kit from LM which I need to use ''7 silver dime'' and someone told me to use ''Mercury Silver Dime of 1916 - 1945''. I've been searching the web for so long but can''t find ''Mercury Silver Dime of 1916 - 1945'' and get it shipped to The Netherlands.
Did anyone have them or know how I can get them? Thanks for your help.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
I don't suppose you can specify a year when you buy a 2 dollar bill from lucky mojo? how important is it to have your birth year on in a mojo bag?
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
birth year is for nation sacks otherwise the specific year is related to luck a leap year is used... the $2.00 bill is for luck as well...I have not seen a year specified for the bill

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a lucky mojo bag which I have yet to recieve. From reading here I will need a dime from my birth year. I have looked through all my change and went to the bank and got 2 rolls of dimes - no luck. If anyone out there has a 1963 dime, I would be willing to trade. I have dimes from the following years:
1965
1967
1969
1974
1975
1984
Hope you can help.
Warm and kind regards

Thank you so much. I have one 1965 Dime. If you want it to hold onto for future use. I will be happy to trade if you have a 1963 dime. Thank you for the quick reply. Kind regards.

It would be quicker and easier to go to a coin shop and buy the dime you need.

I wondered about that too. I didn't know if 1963 would be old enough for a coin shop to decide hold onto.

Make a friend who works as a cashier at a convenience store, and have them put you on speed dial. I wound up with a pile of 2 dollar bills, Mercury dimes, Indian Head pennies and Susan B. Anthonies this way that I put into my projects. I live along I-5 near the Canadian border... all you have to do is wait for the night before the 10th or the 25th (usual paycheck schedule) for the drunks and cigarette smokers to come in and cash their change bowls. You'll always come out with at least a few peculiar coins with this method.

A great idea! I have customers come into my work and spend old silver certificates, $2 bills, Eisenhower dollar pieces, 'mercury' dimes, buffalo nickels...you name it!

M e too, i want a silver coin
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
I purchased a triple strength money drawing mojo bag. The instruction say to get a dime and a $2 bill in the year of my birthyear. My birthyear is 1986.
I found a dime in my coin jar with the year 1986. I cannot find any $2 bill with the year 1986. What I found for $2 bills in the internet mostly are 2003 and 1976. The only 1986 $2 bill I found was a Canadian currency.
I know that on the Lucky Mojo online store, it have mercury dimes and $2 US bills.
Does it matter if use the silver dime I got or do I have to get a mercury dime? It did not specific which metal I should use on the instruction I got.
If I order a $2 bill from the Lucky Mojo online store, can I specify that I need a 1986 $2 bill? Or it doesn't matter what year it is as long as it is from Lucky Mojo?

Follow the instructions, check with LM for the year on the $2.00 bill.
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Thanks jwmcclin, but for the dime, it does not specify which metal on the instruction. So any dime works as long as it is a 10 cent dime with the year 1986 on it?

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Today I popped in on my favorite change hoarding convenience store clerk, and he had 5 Mercury Dimes for me, ALL of them in leap years. My eyes popped out of their sockets.
Any fun suggestions as to what to do with this obviously lucky handful of change?

I have no clue, I'd probably hug the clerk and then stash the dimes for future use, but that's just me. :lol And congrats on such a great find!
Thanks and Praise to Dr. Hernandez, St. Jude and St. Anthony for all you have done, and continue to do on my behalf. My eternal thanks to you for your many blessings!

I'm smoking them in Fast Luck at the moment, since my original plan was to build a money altar, and this basically amps up that goal into hyperdrive.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
I have searched around and cannot find a $2 with the year 1986 on it.
I can find $2 bills, but they have the years 1976, 1995, and 2003.
I called LuckyMojo and the lady who answered just told me that they do have $2 bills, but cannot tell me or check for me if it have the specific year on it and for me to just go to a hobby store.
The only $2 bill I found that have the year 1986 on it is a Canadian $2 bill.
Can I use the Canadian $2 bill since that it have the year I'm looking for which is 1986 or does it have to be a US $2 bill?

Are you sure the instructions say that the $2 bill has to be a particular year? I remember doing a money mojo bag and it was only the dime that had to be my birth year.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
From Wikipedia:
Supplies of the Series 1976 $2 bill were allowed to dwindle until August 1996 when another series finally began to be printed; this series, however, was only printed for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Once again, in October 2003, the $2 bill was printed for only the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis after supplies dwindled . A Series 2003A was also issued starting in 2006, in larger quantity and for multiple Federal Reserve Banks, because of an increase in demand for supplies of the note.
It appears from that that $2 bills have not been printed every year. I'd call LM and ask what year should be substituted if this is indeed the case.

Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
Most large cities have at least one coin shop, and the procedure inside is fairly straightforward: They give you a pile of what you ask for and you're allowed to fish around in it until you find what you're looking for. It's likely going to require some homework and lateral thinking if that's not a solution for you.
Re: US Cent, Dime, Dollar, Two Dollar Bill Questions and Answers
The instruction read, "Get a crisp two dollar bill and a dime from your birth year".
Ruth, thank you for responding. I went to a forum for coin and paper money collection and post a question. They respond to me that the 1986 $2 US currency don't exist. So if you did do your money mojo with any $2 bill and the dime is the one with your birthyear, then I will do that also. The instruction did confuse me because I thought it is 2 dollar bill and dime both from my birth year.
Thank you so much all.
