Hello dragon_bear,

For the lamp oil red would be a great color. You could also use a light purple color to. I don't know that the light purple color is straight up old hoodoo but I have found it to be good for same sex attraction. For herbs there are lots that you can use. Ginger and cinnamon are both good to gently heat up relationships. Rose petals or the little rose buds are great for love. Lavender is good for same sex attraction. You could also get some Follow Me Boy oil (http://www.luckymojo.com/followmeboy.html) and Lavender Love Drops oil (http://www.luckymojo.com/lavenderlove.html) and drop some of that into the oil reservoir. I would also recommend purchasing a copy of the Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic (http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodooherbmagic.html). It will give you all kinds of help!

Peace~

Oil Lamps - Thank you!

Unread post by lexibusch » Thu Jun 25, 2015 8:08 am

Wow - this is really amazing. I was listening to the last show on Oil Lamps and thought I would check out the boards. Everyone is so wonderful. I made the jar one from the book - still experimenting with what oils to use - my wick did not go well but I am going to go to a dollar store or a big discount store and look for different bandages. The one I used burned too quickly - or maybe it was the oil. Just a note - I am thinking Canola is not good to use... Maybe it was the oil.

But - I digress. I wanted to thank you - everyone here that contributes - the people at LM. I just love you guys. I am taking a break from school, so I am back deep into the radio shows and reading. In a month or so I hope to sign up for the course.

This is truly amazing. Thank you so much!

I love the idea of a combination candle/container spell. I ordered an oil lamp a few days ago to make a love/reconciliation lamp. I'm planning on putting ginger, cinnamon sticks, catnip, damiana, cubeb berries, rose buds and balm of gilead in the oil well....and some love oils from LM.

I was thinking of putting a matched pair of red lodestones as well...however i was reading that lodestones need to be fed. I'm not sure how I would be able to feed them when they're submerged in oil. Should I do a 7 day love drawing spell listed in HHRM (which requires feeding with magnetic sand and putting away after the spell) before placing them in the oil well, or would lodestones be okay to put in the well together as is?

Hi Merienda,

I would do the love drawing spell first and then put them in the oil lamp. You should be OK if you do it in that order.

Good luck.

I'm going to start a love oil lamp but I'm still waiting for a few herbs and oils I wanted to add. Would it be okay for me to start it anyway and put out the flame later and open the lamp to add more things to it?

Hi!

Are oil lamps usually just used for a limited number of things - love, money etc, or could you make a more generalised one?

The reason I'm asking is that I have an Attraction Spell Kit on order, which I'm planning to use for seven different wishes - some love, some money, some other things (that seems to be an appropriate way to use it, from what I've seen?). From what I've read of the spell, once it's finished after seven days, you place the trained lodestone under your bed for love, or in your office for money, and so on, but this one won't be aimed solely at either.

I was thinking, maybe, I could add the trained lodestone to an oil lamp, along with herbs and curios that suit the various wishes I've made, and some Attraction Oil, and probably just use clear lamp oil, and turn it into a sort of 'wishing' lamp that I could keep burning perpetually to keep on attracting those things towards me. Would that work as an idea? Or would it end up damaging the original attraction spell because I hadn't put the lodestone under my bed/in my office?

Hi terracotta,

Rather than overload one spell with a multitude of goals, it would be best to work them individually. You would then deploy the lodestone as indicated for each "wish" you're making. That's what I would do.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, Miss Athena. Did I misunderstand the spell instructions about being able to use the candle for seven different wishes?

Hello terracotta,

I have not doen much work with oil laps but my understanding is that they usually have a general purpose such as blessing or Love or Wealth/money. So typically with an oil lamp you would not have one doing Love work and Money work. You are right in that you use seven knob candles for seven different wishes. They could be all related, wishing for different qualities in a new lover or different things leading to wealthier lifestyle.(new car, new house, new job). I think that helps keep the work focused but there is nothing wrong with having seven different wishes that are unrelated.

You are right though in that Attraction products can used to attract pretty much whatever. Typically love, money or both. So I believe it would be possible to make an oil lamp that works the same way. Most people tend to use it to attract one or the other. I however use my lodestone to attract whatever it is I am trying to attract. He is a big fella and I have had him for several years so there is a long relationship there.

If it was me and I was trying to work to attract multiple different types of things, I would use the spell kit to train the lodestone and if you are not using the lodestone for a specific thing, such as money or love, keep it on your altar in front of the attraction oil lamp you are making so you can continue to feed and work with it. You may find that the lodestone has an affinity for one kind of thing and not for something else. My big one will work on whatever task I set it to but I have a littler one that is really only interested in money.

Peace~

Hi natstein,

Thank you for the answer! That's given me some ideas to think about. I've not worked with lodestones yet, so I shall see how this one feels once I've trained it using the spell.

Hi and Happy New Year to all. I will apologize in advance for this being so long. Last year kicked my butt. There is a lot I need to do and I request guidance in getting it done.

I want to use different color lamps to address different conditions. I’m working on setting up an altar. I'm requesting guidance on how to do things before I buy or do anything. I’ve tried in the past without guidance and it was ALL WRONG.

I'm going to start with a cleansing bath as was suggested. I have already purchased it.

After that, some work Road Opening work.

1) I would like to set an oil lamp for ongoing protection and health. I have 2 health issues. One cannot be changed and the other can. Can I have one oil lamp for both protection and health? If so, what color?

2) If one oil lamp will not do for both protection and health, what color oil lamp should I use for protection?

3) After that’s set up, I plan to address money with an oil lamp. The issues I’ve had in the last year make me believe I need spiritual help in all the areas because I have had setbacks in all of these areas. I put in an order for oil and incense to do work to attract money. I had money last year, I need to make sure my lifelong knack for attracting money/good paying jobs continues. Casinos make me physically ill so I don’t gamble. It’s crazy. I have no interest. I am blessed differently.

For example, one time, I couldn't find a job in my field. I took a job to tide me over for substationaly less money. I’m not going to make any money sitting at home crying because I’m not making any money. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing. Then…. I was offered a job seemingly out of nowhere. It was in my field, great money, in a state I had wanted to move to for three years before that. They also paid for my move. Things like that have happened many times over the years. That’s how I’m blessed. Thank you, God. I need to make sure that continues to be in place.

My money problem has always been the staying with me part.. I want to set up a “Money Stay With Me” lamp so there is an ongoing spell I can back up with spells here and there. Are these correct ways to do this?

4) I want to set up a love lamp, last. The problems I have listed are more important right now, but I also seek help on the love lamp.

I thank you for your help and I apologize for the long post.

Hello, Ginger29,

I will answer each question after the question:

1) I would like to set an oil lamp for ongoing protection and health. I have 2 health issues. One cannot be changed and the other can. Can I have one oil lamp for both protection and health? If so, what color?

I wouldn't personally use just one.

2) If one oil lamp will not do for both protection and health, what color oil lamp should I use for protection?

Blue for healing. Purple for protection

3) My money problem has always been the staying with me part. I want to set up a “Money Stay With Me” lamp so there is an ongoing spell I can back up with spells here and there. Are these correct ways to do this?

Look at this page that Miss cat wrote: http://www.luckymojo.com/moneystaywithme.html

4) I want to set up a love lamp, last. The problems I have listed are more important right now, but I also seek help on the love lamp.

Try this page also: http://www.luckymojo.com/lovespells.html

Just use the ingredients into the lamp.

Good luck to you!

Good morning everyone,
I love working with lamps so I decided to make a money lamp because my finances took a turn for the worst I'm behind in all my bills and my money goes out as fast as I get it. The lamp keeps going out and when I do light it the fire is low. Can this be because someone is working on my money or has my money tied or something? Along with the lamp I'm burning a St. Michael candle for protection & St. Expedius candle for fast luck. Can anyone help me out here? I also would like to know if there is a book that I can use to learn more about spiritual lamps or does Dr. Porter field have a book on lamps? Thank you

This is a list of LM products I used

Road opener - to open the way
Van Van - to remove all obstacles
Sandlewood - to protect my money
Money drawing sachet powder - to draw money to me
Patchouli - to draw money
Cinnamon - for more luck and money
Salt Peter - for luck
Success oil - for success in all that I do

Hello, Destiny ,

I wouldn't use the sachet powder, salt peter, with the oil. The powders are probably clogging the lamp.

I would stick to:

Road opener OIL - to open the way
Van Van OIL- to remove all obstacles
Patchouli - to draw money
Cinnamon - for more luck and money
Success oil - for success in all that I do

These books can help: www.luckymojo.com/candlemagic.html

AS well as the 5 pages on this subforum

Wishing you the very best

Thank you Miss Aida,

I have been trying to change my situation around by taking baths, burning candles, & doing a money lamp. It seems like it works for just a moment but then I'm right back where I started from. I need help fast as my bills are over whelming I' m putting a little money here a little there and seems like nothing is getting paid. I just got paid and don't have a dime left just enough to get back and fourth to work if that. I have a lot of LM products to use.

This is the second time I made a money lamp and it won't stay lit and when it is lit the fire is very very low. All of the candles are burning good & contiuously. I don't know whether it's negative energy around me or if it's someone trying to trouble my money.

1) Can I take some reversing oil and rub it on a mirror and sit my money lamp on top of the mirror and put crab shell powder around the lamp in a counter clock direction to prevent any interruptions in my spell?

2) I am also thinking about making a money jar and burn green candles on top with money drawing oils. But do I still need to add the sweeteners as well or just the herbs and oils?

3) I used a large Lucky Mojolodestone and I added magnetic sand to it but I put it in front of the lamp on the outside. Could I have fed the lodestone and added the lodestone inside the lamp with the coins, oils, & herbs instead?

4) I was also wondering if I can take a regular black candle cut off the tip turn it over to make a new wick & rub reversing oil on it away from me of course to reverse this black cloud or bad energy away from me and what words would I carve on the candle.

5) Is there anything else I can do to help my situation?

I know I need a reading but I just can't afford one right now. I would appreciate all and any advice to help me over come this problem. Thank you

Hello, Destiny,

Like I had said, you might have clogged the lamp.

I'll answer each question after the question:

1) Can I take some reversing oil and rub it on a mirror and sit my money lamp on top of the mirror and put crab shell powder around the lamp in a counter clock direction to prevent any interruptions in my spell? _ No. I would put protection herbs around it: www.luckymojo.com/hoodooataglance.html

2) I am also thinking about making a money jar and burn green candles on top with money drawing oils. But do I still need to add the sweeteners as well or just the herbs and oils? -Herbs and oils are great.

3) I used a large Lucky Mojo lodestone and I added magnetic sand to it but I put it in front of the lamp on the outside. Could I have fed the lodestone and added the lodestone inside the lamp with the coins, oils, & herbs instead? -Yes. Just don't use too much sand or else you can clog the lamp again

4) I was also wondering if I can take a regular black candle cut off the tip turn it over to make a new wick & rub reversing oil on it away from me of course to reverse this black cloud or bad energy away from me and what words would I carve on the candle.-I would use a black and green double action candle instead:
www.luckymojo.com/candle-double-action- ... black.html

5) Is there anything else I can do to help my situation? -Yes:. Check out this page: www.luckymojo.com/moneyspells.html

I made a rustic oil lamp for money

Unread post by Ms Annette » Tue Mar 22, 2016 11:05 am

The Black Folder arrived in my last shipment and WOW! What a palooza of information. From this book, I made a rustic oil lamp to use for money/ prosperity. Since my next order from LM is still in the planning stage, there are no special LM oils on hand to include; just using what is on hand and the guidelines from Miss Cat's (and other contributors) book.

The oil is olive and inside I placed a penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and gold dollar (will have to see if the bank has any 50 cent pieces) along with a cinnamon stick, whole nutmeg and allspice. Since Pyrite is common here, I may try to find a piece in the wild and if not, will order from LM. The wick is a piece of rolled guaze, not the Kling kind, and I cut the lid per the books instructions. It lit like a charm and re-lit the next day without pulling the wick through.

After the initial lighting I realized that, though prayed over, I'd made no official request of the lamp. *sigh* I am composing that request today and will drop into the oil.

I'd upload a picture of this wonderous object...cannot figure out how to on this board. ;) Anyway, had to share this minor victory with my friends (that's you all). :D

rustic oil lamp for money

Unread post by Ms Annette » Wed Mar 23, 2016 5:47 am

Just an update: my lamp self extinquished in the night, so pulling the wick through is important. Wick maintenance for this type of lamp is certainly more work/mess than a traditional oil lamp. In 'light' (no pun intended) of my findings, while a rustic lamp works well, my schedule is too full and does not leave much room for fiddling with wicks; the current lamp contents will go to the crossroads and I am employing a traditional oil lamp, like the one LM sells, for my money lamp.

For this one, I will include my petition paper. =) Tips/hints are always welcomed. Tonight is the full moon so I will not light this until after the new moon, thus giving me time to collect/order some additional goodies.

Thanks!

Oh Miss Aida,

I love the KIS method: Keep It Simple. =) Thank you so much for that petition; that is what I will use. Do you have a coordinating verse?

Have you used the money hunting spell before? using $$cc$$ glyph, your full name, and the oil? Are there identity concerns related to the name thing?

Many thanks!

I've recently started a lamp on my altar; I didn't like the smell of the kerosene so I added a vanilla bean, cinnamon, and wintergreen oils. It's dyed red with alkanet, and contains five finger grass, red clover, cinnamon sticks (per the "black folder"), pyrite, orange peel, and allspice berries. I think that's it. Even though oil lamps are long time work as opposed to candles, does this sound strong for a "fast luck" kind of altar piece?

I have finally made it back on to the forum. Fire and flame have been an element I have been very close to for my whole life. Reading this forum has given me much inspiration. I have worked with candles for a long time but would like to venture into the realm of oil lamps. Thanks to everyone who posted on here. It is really inspiring and educational.

I'm planning on making a "Law Keep Away" oil lamp to work with. I found an antique blue oil lamp that I just loved, and I ordered Law Keep Away oil and a few herbs from LM to put in it, but I also already have some from before I found out about LM, plus an Indian head penny to put in it as well. I may put a petition paper in it with the words "Law Keep Away" written 9 times, with my name crossing over it 9 times. Does that sound like a good idea? The herbs I plan on including are tansy, celandine, poppy seeds, elder flowers, cascarilla powder (a very small pinch), fennel seeds, and oregano.
Also, what Psalm(s) would be appropriate for this type of lamp? (I don't know if this specific question is appropriate for this topic, but I figure I'd at least ask)

Hi joshwilburn1017,

That sounds good to me, especially the use of fennel seeds.

For psalms, you can read through this page which lists the purposes associated with each psalm. Find one that speaks to you and use it if you want to include this kind of recitation in your work.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Hello everybody, I'm looking for suggestions on starting an oil lamp for social justice. I know that LM sells oil lamps, but I think it's only for protection, money, and court cases. I specifically want to focus equity and justice for marginalized people. Also, is there an alternative to kerosene? I know that it has strong fumes and want something a little less strong and more discreet since I share living space with others at the moment.

So that link talked generally about hoodoo and community service work, but didn't go into details about what type of rootwork is done for people in need. I realize that of course rootwork will have to be done on an individual level to fully address is person's concern but it still didn't give me a feel for how to go about it. I'm thinking that maybe a good place to start would be to look oil lamps set for court cases and go from there.

Healing Hoodoo Lamps

Unread post by Abayomie » Mon Dec 26, 2016 11:24 am

Greetings,

I made a 4 oz healing lamp for a family member, however the lamp wont stay lit over 3 mins.

Before I assume thatsomething metaphysically is stopping it, I want to seek your advice on the steps I took to create the lamp.

Here is the list of ingredients:

Oils: Olive Oil carrier and Oud / Agarwood Essential Oil for scent

Herbs: powered cinnamon, lavendar, bay leaf, nettle, rose petals, high john, allspice

Crystals: Clear Quartz;

Extra: one peppermint candy.

Thank you for your advice.

Abayomie --

I wish i could answer your question definitely, but there are too many variables here.

Olive oil makes a good carrier oil for any essential oil, such as Agarwood or any of our Lucky Mojo Curio Co. sented blends. However, Olive Oil requires a certain type of loose-woven wick. It will not run up the type of braided wick used for kerosene, for instance. Also, it must have an open top, unlike kerosene, in which the reservoir is tightly closed and the flame is above the reservoir in the burner area, under a draft-producing chimney. Furthermore, if you add too much essential oil to any kind of an oil lamp, it will change the consistency and capilarity of the carrier oil and may result in a non-drawing wick.

The herbs are fine, as long as they do not completely fill the reservoir and thus limit the amount of oil you have to burn.

The crystal is fine.

The pepermint candy is only okay if it is at the bottom of the reservoir, because if it dissolves or comes apart in the oil -- and it mght -- then it will cause the oil to become stocky and sugary, and the wick will char and no onger conduct oil by capilary action.

I would make the exact same jar with pure olive oil. If your wick and reservoir are correct for that oil, it will burn well. Then add to the reservoir, one item at a time.

Good luck.

Hi all!

I have two questions actually-

1. I would like to do a success/career lamp. Do I just add oils like Crown of Success and Look Me Over, or are there herbs I should add too?

2. Could I make an oil lamp myself out of a wick and a mason jar? Is that a reasonable substitute?

Thank you guys!!

Hello AJxoxo,

You can find natural curios you could add to the lamp here:

http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodooataglance.html

Yes you could make a lamp out of a Mason jar and a wick, and if you buy a copy of the Black Folder (linked in the post above yours), it teaches you how to make other simple oil lamps.

Take care.

Hello stillsosola,

For reconciliation, you can add Balm of Gilead buds to the lamp, as well as a pair of lodestones. And if the label on the lamp oil says it's carcinogenic, just make sure you don't go overboard with the burning and make sure you have good ventilation.

Take care.

Wooohooo!

Okay, done reading the forum on this.

There is something I really love about the idea of an oil lamp. I am getting pretty excited. It looks like I am getting ready to place another big order in.

I want to make sure I have this straight:

I have in my cart on the LM site the 12 inch oil lamp.

I plan on using super clean burning paraffin oil instead of kerosene. BUT i insist the oil be green, so I hope I can have my way with non kerosene oil being

green.

I NEED to make sure that the "Pyrite Chunk" will fit into the 12 inch Oil Lamp sold by LM.

I plan on putting in the Pyrite chunk, the 1" x 1" smallest Lodestone (and I'm assuming this will fit as well?), Lodestone gravel pea sized pieces, all

Lodestone matter will be dressed with magnetic sand, small gravel pea sized Pyrite, new Dimes, some of the Money Herb blend sold by LM, the lamp oil

will be infused with drops of Magnet/Attraction oil combo, and a combo blend of ALL the money oils LM sells.

Does the LM 12 inch lamp come with wicks?

Am I solid?

Thanks ALL,

Hiding

Hello HidingInSight,

Instead of going with the pyrite chunk, I'd go with the pyrite grit (and lodestone grit for that matter) just to make sure that it will fit into the lamp. You can find it here:

http://www.herbmagic.com/pyrite-grit.html

I'm not sure if the lamp comes with wicks, might want to call the shop and ask.

Take care.

Sister Jean,

I did not think of doing that. That would save me about ten bucks too!

Good thinking!!

Sometimes I get very tunnel visioned and can't see the trees from the forest, thanks for your guidance!!!

Hmmmm....

I just realized that for dimes it says SILVER dimes. Those are super expensive to get any number of them. And doing one of each denomination is no joke either since silver dollars are kind of pricey too.

It says one can use regular change "you took in during your first cash sales", I don't own a business so I don't have that but would it then be okay since I don't own a business to acquire regular change by going to the bank and to buy a couple dollars worth of new dimes?

""A money lamp is a regular glass-reservoir kerosene lamp (or one with green glass) which you have prepared by placing a Money Drawing mineral -- either a chunk of Pyrite or a Lodestone dressed with Magnetic Sands -- and a bunch of coins in the reservoir where they can be seen. The coins can either all be silver dimes, or the change you took in during your first cash sales, or an assortment of one penny, one nickel, one dime, one quarter, one fifty-cent piece, and one silver dollar -- that is, one each of every denomination of coin.""

Thanks for your help! I really want to get this lamp going.

I’m considering getting the money oil lamp. Where can I find it on the shop website? How do you construct it? Does it come with instructions or already fixed? I had a oil lamp 5 years ago but it was for Christian prayers and I don’t recall how I used it. Any info is good. Thanks

http://www.luckymojo.com/moneydrawing.html

http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocattools.html Lamp is a few inches down the screen.

Also, I would get Cat's Black Folder talks about how to do it in there as well. I got mine through her which she sells on Amazon for 9 bucks. And I am a prime member so I got it the next day. One of the best compilations on Hoodoo that exists. Worth way way way more than 9 bucks.

I have ordered supplies and have added extra roots and herbs by reading their herb and roots section on what each root and herb does.

I have that book. Can I use olive oil as oil in the lamp? If I purchase the lamp can I add more things to it? Where do we get the wick when it burns down?

I believe I remember Cat saying you can’t use olive oil as it doesn’t pull up the wick well. You get replacement wicks at any hardware store. Yes you add roots and herbs and conditions oils to it and pray over them like you would a candle.

I use a paraffin / kerosene smokeless odorless oil lamp oil. I would contact the company for toxin details or just keep from bathing in it or drinking it. I kid I kid!

Hope this helps.
