Would like some petition writing help on a couple of things.

I will be having a Saint Anthony candle done. It is for a missed connection type situation, I have the person's name and picture. I simply would like help finding a way to run into them again. How is " *my name here * will find and cross paths with ____ again" for a petition?

Also would like to do a Clarity candle, for the purposes of finding information on how to cross paths with them. Any petition help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello chrsvor25,

Your first petition should read "I will cross paths with ____" and your Clarity petition should read "I will learn information that will lead me to cross paths with ___".

That's what I would do.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

I need help writing my petitions. How would you properly petition Saint Martha and Saint Expedite? I am petitioning Saint Martha with help to get approved for a vehicle with no down payment and petitioning Saint Expedite with help getting a raise at work.

Crunch-N-munch --

Catholic petitions to saints are what are called intercessory prayers. You ask the saint to intercede for you before God, who grants prayers.

You address the saint by name: "Saint Martha, ..."

Then some people add an identifying phrase, especially if more than one saint has the same name, but sometimes just because they like the poetry of it: "... beloved friend of the Lord, sister to Mary and Lazarus, who took a servant's role in life, and whose faith n Jesus never wavered..."

Next you announce yourself: "...i, your humble supplicant [Name], come before you to ask that [state your wish] be granted unto me..."

Optionally, you add a vow: ".. in token of which i vow that if my request is fulfilled, i will [state your vow]..." ) and in the case of Martha, the servant, you might offer to always tip waitresses 20% or you might offer her coffee and flowers, or offer to dedicate a Mass on her feast day in the church, or to donate money to a women's shelter.) "...and praise your name all the days of my life..."

Finally, it is common, but not required, to close with an appeal to an authority higher than the saint: "... and i ask this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Amen." (And most folks, when they ask in the three highest names, make a cross sign in the air with the hand at each name.)

There are many other ways to state or write such a petition, both short and long, and with or without the optional parts.

I hope this helps.

Oh my goodness so much info and I’m so thankful, thank so so much Cathrine for all of this! I believe I was petitioning them incorrectly then, so because only 200 characters can fit in the petition box, how would I make all that fit plus my name & birthdate?

Crunch-N-munch --

200 characters -- let me see that i can do!

Here you go, in 181 characters, leaving you room to specify your name, birthdate, wish and vow:

Saint Martha, friend of Jesus, i [Name born XX/XX/XXXX], ask for [state your wish], and i will [state your vow] and praise you, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Amen.

I will be doing some work to help attract my dream home to the market. (My dream home is an older house with many original features)

I also want to include in the petition something to the effect of wanting to know it is the right house when I see it. Any advice on how to phrase that?

chrsvor25 --

When we make a petition (as opposed to a command), we generally begin with "may i," which is a way of saying "please" to the spirits, deity, or Universe.

"May my dream home, an older home [be specific -- a Queen Anne Cottage, an Craftsman Bungalow, a Tudor Castle] with [name the features -- a Jennair Range, a Fenced Dog Run, a Tornado Cellar] come on the market soon, and may i know and claim it as mine when i see it, [add any prayer to a spirit, such as, "in Jesus' name or "in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" or "as Hashem wills it" or "with the help of Our Lady of Loreto" or "with the aid of my ancestors" or "by the Divine Favour of the Universe" -- "Amen."

I have a question...my now ex has court in one week for fraud. He said the prosecutor told him he owes the government $16,000 for collecting unemployment benefits when he wasn’t supposed to. I want him to lose the case. He knows he’ll have to pay it back but wants to avoid jail time. Can I do a court candle to be on the MISC alter for him to lose the case and go to jail? If so, how should I write the petition?

newwitch2018,

I moved your post to this thread since you are talking about a MISC petition for a Court Case candle. You were posting on the Court Case Mojo thread.

You may write the petition as "May so-and-so birthday mm/dd/yyyy be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. May he receive the maximum punishment for his crimes"

I hope this helps!

Hello Crunch-N-munch,

Petitions of this sort are personal prayers for your protection against malevolent energies or the snares of your enemies. Write from your heart.

You could also lift passages from the psalms if you work with them. Psalm 91 is a powerful choice. You can find other psalms here, including their corresponding conditions, for more inspiration:
http://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/C ... _of_Psalms

I hope this helps. Good luck.
