I’m going to use a seven day glass candle to work with Saint Expedite. If my petition is granted before the candle is done burning, do I give him his pound cake and flowers before the candle is done or wait until it’s done burning?

You can give him offerings when your petition is granted, but do allow the candle to finish its burn so that you can recycle the glass.

Now, on to your question. Yes, it preferred if you have a vigil candle that you let it burn straight through if you can. It usually will not last the full 7 days, more like 4-5. Fire safety is very important so I place the candles in a sink, bathtub, shower, on a cookie sheet placed on a table. You want to make sure there is nothing around it that will set fire and no pets will knock it over. I have had several and never had an issue.

In addition to Terra_Rising's excellent advice, if you ever find that you have to turn off a candle for a period of time before resuming the work, make sure you pinch it out with your fingers or use a candle snuffer. Never blow out a candle unless you want the spell to end completely.

Since Saint Expedite is usually pictured holding a cross that says "HODIE" (or "Today," in Latin), and stomping on a crow who is saying "CRAS," (a little word play which sounds like a "CAW," but means "Tomorrow" in Latin), I'd say go for it when the need is urgent, rather than waiting! Doing things now instead of putting them off is basically Saint Expedite's motto.

I say go for it, and see what happens! He should be more than amenable to a request made with speed in mind.

I had a strange experience when I was about to lit a candle for St. Expedite.

I lit the candle to do an offering to the saint when the imagen printed I had for him fell, and it burnt itself into the candle; I could faded the tiny fire but I discovered that St. Expedite's head wasn't, it burnt. Just the head, the whole imagen was complete except for the head.

For a strange reason, I ask him for forgiveness. Have never had a similar experience with a saint. Maybe it was an accident, or, could it be something else?.

I'm so worried.

I want to publicly thank expedite. I work with him often with great success and would like to tell other people how I personally do it.

I usually ask him to support a spell that I have already done. He has helped expedite spells for me in my romantic relationship, healing loved ones who are ill, and finding employment for a loved one.

I set up a red vigil candle, water, and fresh flowers with a petition paper below the candle. I bless the candle with St. Expedite oil. I then pray the following over the candle until the wish is granted:

St. Expedite, you lay in rest. I come to you and ask that this wish be granted ____________. Please expedite now what I ask of you, what I want of you, this very second. Don't waste another day Grant me what I ask for, please. I know you because of your work, I know your power, I know you can help me. Do this for me and I will spread your name with love and honor so that it will be evoked again and again. Expedite this wish with speed, love, honor, and goodness. Glory to you St. Expedite!

I pray over the candle and light it for some time once a day until the wish is granted. Then I put it out with a candle snuffer and do it again each day. Once the wish is granted I offer him a glass of wine, pound cake with a coin, and once a few days have passed. I pour the wine into the earth, the poundcake for the birds, and the money for the poor.

You have to tell at least one other person about what St. Expedite has done for you, or legend says he will take it back and not work with you again.

@ Mabel - for St. Expedite, since he's a trickster you grant him pound cake and/or Rose's or whatever you promised AFTER. There's no time compared to ours but I would petition him again and not worry about it. The moment you doubt it if hes working on it can erase his efforts. So light red candle, dress it with fast luck oil, I add ellegua oil to mine to help remove obstacles, but when he comes through give him some pound cake and water and stay positive. If it works out it works out, if not he didnt grant but overall stay positive . Sometimes it's a test and any negative thinking or doubts, you can fail the test.

I have some doubts about St Expedite.
1. you have to light a candle BEFORE the goal is attained?
2.Candle has to be lighted and burning during 7 days or you can light it only a few minutes each day while you pray the Saint?
3.Candle has to be always red?(Have you seen a type of white candle which is placed and lighted inside a red plastic sheath? Can this candle be considered a red candle?)-

1. Yes, the candle is a part of your petition to the saint.

2. I have seen either way done. If you are going to light/snuff out each day, I would let it burn at least 15 mins.

3. It's best to follow the spell as closely as possible. Variations and substitutions can cause unpredictable outcomes.

No, I haven't tried it but I would go ahead and use it. Maybe you could use something red like on the altar you are burning it on. Like a red scarf. You could also purchase red pillar/chime candles to use in a triangle with the candle you have.

-What do you think about this: if you want to start on Wednesday but are in a hurry and you have had not time to prepare propoerly the altar, could you simply, on wednesday, stablish the first contact with St Expedite, burn for some hours a red candle in front of his picture, invoke him and tell your petition, letting him know that within one ot two days the altar will ne ready with the picture, the glass of water and the candle, for 7 days, and the ritual will start then?

- I have read different versions of the altar arrangement. Sometimes, the picture is at the back of the altar, and in front of it, at the right the glass of water, and at the left the candle; sometimes, candle was back and in front of it, the picture at the left, and the glass of water at the right. Are all of them good?
(by the way, when it is said at the right or at the left, does it mean at your right and your left from your perspective if you are in front of the altar looking at it, or it is from the perspective of Saint Expedite, who is in the altar looking at you? Thanks

I will try to answer all of your questions here.

First, it is rarely a good idea to approach a saint when you are "in a hurry" and can't show them the respect they are due before you start asking for their help. You would not approach a person here on earth and ask for their help in a haphazard way and expect them to cooperate, so please treat your spiritual court with respect and reverence.

If this were me, I would prepare the altar in full before requesting St Expedite's help and not do a drive-by petition before then.

You can approach St Expedite on any day that his help may be needed, however Wednesday or Thursday are traditional.

Don't overthink the order of placement of items on his altar. Work with the space you have and find the placement that works best for your altar. Right or left refers to the perspective of St Expedite's photo or icon.

"You lay in rest" refers to resting in peace for the deceased.

It matters that you left the pound cake as an offering to St. Expedite, so I would not worry about what others did to it afterwards. However, it would be a better idea to leave your offerings on your altar while they remain fresh, then send them out to nature to feed wildlife (presuming they are still edible, if a little stale).
