That is a pretty blatant rip-off. That's too bad.

Yes, according to the writer, Jeff Steinbrunner, his editor at cracked.com, David Wong, clipped the Lucky Mojo trademark and copyright notice off my label
David Wong did this to make himself look like an artist
As if David Wong had crafted Lucky Mojo art, which he did not
Google notices how often David Wong's name appears on this page
I expect that David Wong's future employers will search for his name
And learn that David Wong is a known copyright thief and if he steals from me
David Wong's friends have been stolen from too.
Because David Wong is a plagiarist and an thief and
David Wong did this intentionally, cutting the TM and (c) notices off my art, so
David Wong's plagiarism is demonstrable and
David Wong has been outed as a crook.
David Wong is supposedly a humour editor.
Copyright violation is not funny, except to David Wong.
If being a blatant rip-off is a joke to un-funny so-called comical editor David Wong,
then David Wong will see that it is not funny to those he steals from.
My copyright and trademark protect my livelihood from thieves like David Wong,
And i feel strongly that David Wong is stealing from me.
David Wong could have asked permission, but he defaced my art and stole from me
David Wong could have given me a link-back and a credit, but he's a thief
And thieves like the failed editor David Wong are sociopathic in their egotism
David Wong felt he had to have my art, so he deliberately stole it
And David Wong tried to disguise the theft by cutting off my TM and (c) marks
How funny is David Wongr's brand of comedy? As funny as 5 years in jail.
Any normal person would have asked permission
and i'd have gladly given it for a line of credit and a link
Society is built on courtesies like this
Unknown to David Wong.

May he apologize for what he has done.
May he send a personal apology and promise never to cheat, lie, or steal again to miss cat.
May he remove all artwork and information that he ILLEGALLY obtained from all his websites immediately.
May he STOP plagiarizing and stealing from those who work hard and diligently to provide information to others.
May he be ashamed and may all of the communities that he is a part of banish and revile him until he mends his ways.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Since Cat doesn't seem to check her e-mail I figured this might get a faster response. Below is the email I sent to Mrs. Yronwode. I'm confident everything will now be handled accordingly.

Hey Cat,
This is Jeff Steinbrunner, the person your forum is accusing of plagiarism. Let me begin by saying I only wrote the words in the articles for Cracked.com and was never responsible for photos or page layout. I'm a writer, that is all I did when I worked freelance for Cracked over 2 years ago. Nevertheless, please accept my apology. You are clearly very upset over the use of your art without your permission and rightfully so. As a comedian I have had work stolen as well, but I know it's important to have all the facts before making wild accusations. I would have preferred you going about this in a different way, perhaps by contacting the website for more information or spending a few minutes to find my address and contacting me directly, instead of just resorting to defamation of my character. But now that you have the facts I hope you do the right thing and remove the thread started in libel and go about correcting the situation like an adult.

If you wish to have your photo removed from the article please contact the editor in chief of Cracked.com, David Wong, at dwong187@gmail.com. I'm sure it was merely an oversight on his part during publishing and he would be happy to make the situation right with you.

Thank you for your time and sorry again for any frustration this has caused. I hope things are now clear, please write me back to confirm that the thread has been deleted from your lovely website.

Thanks, Jeff. It could hardly be an oversight to take an image into phtoshop and lop off the copyright and trademark notices printed right on the picture, but if you were just the writer, then i am glad to point the finger to the editor who never asked my permission (which i would have gladly given) but just pirated my art. I have changed the previous posts accordingly. Google will now find the name of David Wong as the plagiarist. Google is fun, and i hope that David Wong enjoys his hours in the light of the sun.

Good Morning -

I just did a Google search for David Wong and this thread does not appear within the first three pages. Honestly I don't think anyone would look past the first three Google pages for David Wong. IF you type in David Wong copywrite THEN you are top of the first page. Is this the result you wanted or were you wanting a better one? We might get a better hit if we say David Wong Editor in Chief of Cracked.com copywrite thief. It will narrow down who it is amoung the David Wong (s) of the world. Please let me know if there is something I can do to help.
Thank you Saint Anthony, you're a prince!
Thank you Catherine!

Lucky, you highlight the basic flaw with google -- infrequent words are easier to get hits on than frequent words! The last name of the writer is rare enough that i got to page one at google almost immediately, with his name in the coveted David Wong position.

If one is using a rare name, one can easily get to page one on google with a mere 30 or so repetitions -- but David Wong, man, that's tough, because there are many people, as you noted, with the name David Wong, including David Wong the editor of cracked.com, which i presume is an outgrowth of the old Cracked Magazine, although it may be a different use of the name Cracked, with David Wong as editor. I sure wish that David Wong had a less common name, but, as one of -- who knows? a thousand men named David Wong? -- he may be the only editor David Wong, and he is probably the only editor of cracked.com named David Wong. Thanks for suggesting that we think more about David Wong, discuss his name, David Wong, and note his job as David Wong, editor of cracked.com.

I used to love reading issues of Cracked when I was in middle school. It's too bad that David Wong and the new direction of the website that Cracked.com has become has kinda soured the memory...just a bit! Thanks to David Wong editor of cracked.com.

That stinks...I loved reading MAD and Cracked when I was younger! My first (unknown to me at the time) exposure to Daniel Clowes was The Uggly Family pages he did for Cracked. Too bad the entire "name" of Cracked has kinda gone "fast food"...
