Dragon's Blood Resin Qustions and Answers

Tonight I was inspired (maybe it was some of the Crown of Success I wore) to look through my collection of knick-knacks to see if there were any interesting connections. I came across a HUGE lump of Dragon's Blood that I had been holding on to for some time, and also some $2 bills I have been saving, and I decided that the time was right to use them. I lit a big red jar candle for luck and a big green jar candle for money, and I wrapped the Dragon's Blood in the $2 bill folding it inwards to seal it in, and then I wrapped that in baling twine enough times around to make sure it didn't come out of the bill.

I rolled the ball in the red candle wax first, and then I rolled it in green candle wax on top of that.

This is my first attempt at a homemade hoodoo charm, so tell me what you think! It's intended for money luck.

Ok first off, there is a money connection for sure because the price of Dragon's Blood has gone up a lot, so if you have a big chunk that you bought several years ago the value on it has increased quite a bit

Secondly, I am not sure what the thinking is behind your charm--how are you planning to use this? You took the $2 bill, wrapped it around the chunk of dragon's blood, and then rolled that in wax--sounds like a type of container spell or hand with the hardened wax functioning as the container--is that how you are planning to use it? Are you going to carry it on you? Leave it on your altar? Place it in a bottle spell? How will you feed/anoint it?

My plan is to embed it into a statue I've made for the purpose and treat that statue as a money fetish. He's dressed as a king, outfitted in green and dollar bills, and is made to sit over a space and make sure the luck is good. He's going to be painted with paint mixed with Money Drawing and Lodestone oils.

I'll put up a picture of him when I'm done... it's looking REALLY impressive!

He's sort of floppy so I have to decide whether or not to make him a marionette, which could be pretty cool to have him hanging over my collection/altar like a lord.

A marionette ... which you could then manipulate into making magical gestures or acting out doing whatever you'd like to do to make your living ...

No idea if that's traditional, but it sure sounds powerful. And, yeah, the whole hovering-over-the-altar-like-a-guardian-angel thing, too.

or does it work with any type of work?
cat's book relates it to love and money work, so...
and adding to that, i've learned that a good idea in hoodoo is to work with an odd number of ingredients
would dragon's blood count like an extra one?

also, does anybody know if oak galls is another herb like dragon's blood, in that it can be used for any type of work?
and helps in adding an extra punch?
though, it seems lucky m doesn't carry oak galls
the book talks about it in being used in incense, toby or tea. so, i am not sure if this excludes mixing it with other
herbs for candle work

Dragon's Blood resin definitely has a purpose and is mostly used to rid evil and bring luck. It can be used for writing, as you suggested, but can also be burned on charcoal. You can purchase it for $5.50 and I highly recommend it as an incense during love drawing spells.

I am confused about Dragon's Blood resin.

I have read Dragon's blood is a bright red resin that is obtained from different species of a number of distinct plant genera: Croton, Dracaena, Daemonorops, Calamus rotang and Pterocarpus. Some people say Dragon's Blood resin coming from Dracaena species, is the "true" dragon's blood. If this is true how would I recognize this? or Dragon's Blood resin coming from any plant genera will be powerful? Please Help!!

If a person only intends to add small amount of the dragon blood resins to other incense packs..money drawing etc..is this fine? or its only good with charcoal?

If you want to add a tiny bit to another incense, grind it to a fine powder and it should work fine. If you have anything resembling a lump however, you'll require charcoal to get it to smoke.

Thanks as always aura. I ordered some incense, will be my first time using such a thing ever actually..I read that adding a little more saltpeter makes the corresponding incense even more effective but then I read about the oomph Dragon blood adds to things so I figured I'd get that instead. I'm so excited to try everything.

Btw since I'm a complete novice to incense..do people smoke things in it while I flame is showing on the cone or do you wait til flame is gone and its mostly the smoke that's left

Could you please explain the difference between Dragon's Blood Resin and Dragon's Blood Reed (also known as Herb Robert)?

Dragon's Blood Reed is not Herb Robert, for sarters.

Herb Robert is a wild geranium, Geranium robertianum. It has a neat aroma, kinda bitter-sweet.

Dragon's Blood is the dried sap of the Dragon Palm, a type of palm tree. The sap may be collected and formed into many shapes, just as maple syrup, another tree sap, is made into several forms of candies. Different cultures have differing traditions regarding these shapes. In China, the resin is formed into balls. In Yemen it is allowed to harden in bread pans. In times past, it was considered a very classy way to form it by laying it in a palm leaf or bambooo and making a reed-like stick of it. Each small reed was then individually wrapped and tied in palm fronds. This was sold as Dragon's Blood Reed for many, many decades. It is no longer made, as the areas where it came from are simply overwhelmed with wars, overpopulation, industrialization, and inhumane lack of artistry.
