Spells For Anxiety Panic PTSD OCD Hair Pulling Nail Biting

Unread post by Editrix » Wed Feb 11, 2009 7:29 pm

I would really appreciate any input anyone might have on this subject. My husband may have to spend a week or so in an inpatient program for chronic headache. He is extremely claustrophobic and terrified of hospitals; he has pretty severe PTSD from having spent quite a while in the ICU a little over a year ago.

I am already working on some healing aids for him, but I would like to make a mojo bag that he can take with him to the program for help in easing his extreme anxiety. I have made some relaxing baths for him as well, but I'm looking for something small that he can just tuck away and keep close to him, as we are traveling out of state. Also, candles and incense are out, as he won't be allowed to bring them with him. Again, I would greatly welcome any suggestions.

I make one up in a white bag with some of these in it: Frankincense, Balm of Gilead, Lavender, Chamomile and High John for strength. Add blessing, and healing powder and feed the bag with blessing oil and/or healing oil. And don't forget that you get someone else to burn candles for you. Not to sound like a commercial for them but they do good work and there candles are strong so you may want to look into that. Best of luck to the both of you and may your husband be healed.

I like the following herbs for dispelling anxiety/mental disruption and brining in peace or good fortune, you may want to consider adding them to your mojo.

Marjoram
Hops
Allspice
Rosemary
Benzoin

Good luck,

As you will be traveling, I'd suggest adding some comfrey root (for both safe travel and feeling at home wherever one happens to be) to the mojo hand, as well.
Peace be with you,

Thank you all very much for your suggestions and support. I had not considered a remote candle service, but that's a great idea. I also really like the inclusion of rosemary; it is an ingredient that resonates powerfully with both of us. Also, I did not know that comfrey root helped with feeling at home in unfamiliar surroundings, but that will certainly be a help, as leaving his familiar surroundings is part of my husband's great fear surrounding the whole experience.

I appreciate this guidance more than I can express in a few typed sentences.

I suggest making a matched pair of mojo bags to keep the two of you attuned while you are apart. Enfold the anti-anxiety ingredients into an underlaying form of faithful reunion Lodestone mojo bag such as the one that i described here:

Thanks, Cat, for the great suggestion. I like the idea of using lodestones to strengthen our connection during this time. I will be able to see him during visiting hours, but I know he will have a tough time being alone at night; I'm not even sure they get to make phone calls, since they are supposed to be resting.

I have a further question on that matter. When we return home, and I remove the lodestones from the bags to reunite them, I know he will want to keep using his mojo bag, as anxiety is something with which he struggles daily -- just not as acutely as he does in hospital situations. Would it be advisable to add something else after removing the lodestone in order to maintain an odd number of ingredients? If so, would you recommend an additional antianxiety component or something for love, as it will be taking the place of a love/fidelity ingredient?

Thanks again.

If you both wish to keep your bags upon being reunited (he for easing his anxiety, you for helping him with same), then take the Lodestones out, let them kiss or rest together overnight, and return them to their bags to keep on working. Let the bags (or the stones themselves) touch every once in a while -- weekly, monthly, or yearly, as feels right to you. No need then to remove or bury them! Keep 'em working!

I would make a healing mojo in a white bag with the following herbs:

Althea
Self-heal
Solomon Root
Yarrow
Mugwort
Five-finger grass
Sumac Berries

I would bless it with some Return to Me oil and insert a petition paper for his healing.

Also, I would burn white candles on him while he is sleeping. I would focus on him and speak to him while he is dreaming. Tell him he will be alright and not to worry. I would do this deep in the night, about 1 to 3 am. I found this to be quite affective for people with anxiety.

Good luck!

Before you try all the healing stuff it is advisable to "clean the wound and put on a good bandage".
So going for house cleansing once a week with Chinese Wash and a dash of Buffalo Ammonia followed by
the use of Protection or Fiery Wall of Protection products along with some Camphor in a glass of water besides
you when you sleep usually makes all healing work way better.

Depression can easily be fueled by Evil Eyes or other negative influenses which will be eliminated by the above.

Good Luck,

Hi Sister

sorry to hear of your husbands problems, im no expert but i guess im just using common sense, maybe u should also do a possible uncroosing 13th herb bath for him too just to cover him so he may not be suffering from magic or spirits etc,, i dont kno its just an idea.. ''

Hope u both find peace and happiness

This is really great information! I also deal with anxiety and I was thinking of making a mojo to help me calm down and relax. I use lavender oil for aromatherapy when I'm anxious, so I would use that in my own personal anti-anxiety mojo.

Snake,
My husband is also very fond of lavender. I've made lavender baths, and he finds them quite soothing. Lucky Mojo sells lavender bath crystals, or you could purchase their unscented ones in a color that you find comforting (blue works well for us) and scent them yourself. The combination of the aroma and the relaxing soak works wonders.

Editrix,
Great idea! I think I remember reading somewhere about psalms that recommended that you read a particular psalm and use lavender oil for anxiety. I don't know how traditional hoodoo it might be, but the lavender sure helps me! I was also looking at the Tranquility products and was wondering if those might be good for my anxiety.

it sounds like you would be best to
  1. get some sleep
  2. consult a doctor about your anxiety and sleep loss if it persists
  3. find ways to diversify your support base so that you're not dependent upon any specific outlet
  4. develop a regimen of prayer or meditation to ground and calm your nerves
  5. use Blessing Oil, Mojo, Bath, etc.
  6. use John the Conqueror Oil (particularly for males)
  7. use Tranquility Oil
I find sitting quietly in a field of grass or flowers is helpful for such calming.
or indeed a time in a forest.

I have that problem or concern too...I think the best way is to distract yourself; immerse yourself in another activity that takes your mind of the obsession. I don't necessarily think it is a bad thing to think about the spellwork, but obsession, not so good.
Some things to distract yourself (IMHO)
1) go to a good gripping movie
2) or if you are a reader, get a good book that will not let you put it down until the very end
3) go out with friends, they will distract you; even go out with other dates for fun
4) learn something new. Learning a hobby or skill takes concentration and as you learn it, it becomes gratifying and you will want to devote more of your mental efforts toward that. Obviously if you pick an activity you hate, its not going to work; but there are so many things from sports, to gaming, to learning an instrument, a hobby skill like woodworking, etc the list is endless, and I believe there are many resources for any interest on the internet which could offer you interactive group experience.
5) go out dancing. For some reason that combination of physical activity, auditory stimulation of the music, perhaps something to drink gets your mind in a different place

One thing I've learnt from my (about 2 years) experience of working, and from reading different forums is that spells always manifest results in some ways. More than a few fellow posters on this forum have written about how their targets didn't seem to respond to the love spells at first, but one day the targets suddenly grew very keen, or they turned cold and cut off ties. I've had guys calling me much later than I thought they would, and by then I'd seen how having a relationship with them wouldn't be a good idea. Which is to say, your works will show you the truth or the crux of the situation at one point. Your efforts will pay off.

I try to bear this in mind when I'm doing love works, because it's so easy to want to obsess over it and burn candles and pray all the time. Whenever I get that way I'd think, look, I'm doing this spell and I focus on it 15 minutes a day, and that's the time slot I'll dedicate to working on the this guy. Any other time I may miss him, but I'll leave it up to the spirit to see what happens. And, if I'm done with the spell already, I try to have absolute conviction in what I've done: 'of course it'd work...' and wait. This belief brings me so peace of mind actually - if so much time passes and nothing happens, I'll have seen the truth too.

Give yourself a time limit, say three months, when you wait and see. If it doesn't work out you change your plans or move on.

To stop obsessing...you can write down all your concerns down on a black candle from (wick to base), and perform this ritual doing the waning moon. Also, put some banishing oil on it, or herbs such as black pepper or asafoetida (really stinky).

Also, you can write down all your concerns, and then burn them in a firm proof container. You need to get rid of the remains far away from you.

In college, I had a professor tell us "You don't write things down to remember, you write them down so you don't have to remember." If you're a journal/diary type, you may want to start one. If you're not one to leave evidence, write it on a piece of paper then shred it or burn it. I've learned barbecues work really well for this.
So be it

Unread post by starsinthesky7 » Mon Jul 06, 2009 3:42 am

I posted this is another threat...but I thought it was relevant to this thread for those that might not look in other categories besides this one.

The solution to stop obsessing through non spellwork means: Would be to find something else to do, and keep yourself busy.

I agree sometimes you must have blind faith, and I think the most misleading thing is to believe that ONE single candle is going to make all your trouble go away. Also, Ive noticed some people are expecting immediate results like within a few days or even a week or two. Personally, I think looking for signs is obsessing as well. Like you shouldnt have to look for signs. They will come to you, and if you dont see them in 3 days does not necessarily mean that the spell failed. Perhaps you didnt even notice a sign when it came into your view.

Also, when something has failed or not yield the results you wanted. It is time to reevaluate, and think about WHY the spell did not manifest.

Burning one candle, for something like reconciliation, and assuming ONE candle is going to do the job especially if it was a BAD breakup is misleading. Spell work is WORK. For a difficult situation, more than likely it is going to take more than one candle, or spell. These situations tend to be difficult, and require more work. It is going to take discipline, some creativity, and risks just like anything when people want something really bad. Also, goals are more attainable when you break them down in small goals. If you were trying to lose weight, you wouldnt think about losing 100 pounds all in in one month, but you would think okay this month I am going to lose 10 pounds this month. Thinking about a goal that is soo huge, can be discouraging, but if you break it down then and start doing results for every little goal...its going to help you get to the bigger goal.

Also, burning the same type of candle or doing the same spell with no results does not mean you need something more stronger.Or you may need to hit the situation from a different angel, or you are not addressing the problem directly through the correct spell. I can burn a little free standing candle, with 3 ingredients on it, and it can be just as powerful. Yes some ingredients make things more potent, but the power is you. Yes the universe can tell you No, but I would say most of the battle is overcoming your faith and discipline.

Another negative thing is...discussing your spell before the outcome has manifested or for sure you know its a total failure...with someone else. Telling a lot of people about exactly what you did is going to affect the outcome. These people come with their own negativity, and may overthink your own spell for you even if you are not. And yes this includes this board. Its okay to speak in the vagueness of terms, or with a person who is doing your spell work for you, but try to limit down the random people you tell.

Not obsessing, or not overthinking your work is the the hardest thing to overcome. But it is necessary to make your work more effective. It is going to take some work, and sheer willpower on your part. Something people could do whenever you think about the situation or have negative thoughts. Write them down because that helps get it out of your mind. If you are feeling negative, burn the thoughts in a fire. Engage in activities with others or yourself that require you to think about the task at hand.

Constant worrying, and watching for results is like watching a pot of boiling water...does not help your work. Trust me its a losing battle, and you will be so upset because you will keep spending money, time, and energy on something you are already setting yourself up for failure through your own negativity.

Another thing about reading/divination and spellwork. Readings/divination is like a snap shot of what is going to happen at that point in time given the circumstances, and the spellwork that has been done or not been done that time. When I do a reading for others or even when I get a reading, I just dont like timeframes. If someone says, you can expect contact on July 6 at any time, then that can be discouraging. I dont think I have ever met a reader that has been dead on with time. A great reader will say within the next month or so. If a reader says so and so should contact you by the end of July, and the end of July passes, but the target contacts you at the beginning of August. Then hey you got what you wanted. Basically, stop focusing on the EXACT when of things. Who cares about how..when...why of things. As long as it HAPPENS..is all that is important. Also, I would limit the amount of readings when doing spellwork. Getting a reading every week...is similar to obsessing. You are just having someone else constantly checking in if things are manifesting. I would get divination done once a month to see how things are taking.

Also, myspace, facebook, twitter, driving endlessly by the targets house, checking phone bills, email, calling, and hanging up,harrassing the target, and any other means that causes you to obesess , and look ridiculous where you are constantly checking up on the target just really really sets you back. Trust me I know. I did it, and it really messed me up. It is okay to check up on them every now and then because it can be a great tool to check up on how things. But otherwise stay away from the myspace, and all those other things. It will just have you thinking negative thoughts that might not necessarily be the case. Also, just because you cant SEE it does not mean its not working.

Hope this all makes sense.

I dont really get this question. St Michael protects you, and I have heard as long as the candle is burning, or you are saying prayer to him consistently that he will protect you. Now remember protection does not mean that you are cleansed. I would recommend cleansing yourself, and still keeping up on that St. Michael candle. He will definitely protect you.

Divination would need to be done to see if you lost the spiritual battle or if they reversed it on to you. But chances are you should do a unjiinxing/uncrossing bath while keep up on your protection.

If you suffer from OCD, Panic Attacks, or Anxiety Disorder, you may be feeling physical results of your disorder that are not related to your petition to Saint Michael. A spiritual reading -- and a medical exam -- would settle the question.

I too occasionally have odd emotional reactions, but in my case it occurs only after having spiritual cleansing done. I don't otherwise have these reactions and I can recognize them for what they are because it's always immediately after a cleansing. I admit I still do not understand these reactions, but they definitely indicate the spell had strong energy. In terms of the reactions to the spiritual cleansings, I was told by the gal who did them, someone who had my trust implicitly, that it was just my physical body adjusting to the new, lighter vibration afterwards. My reaction to a really thorough cleansing usually kicks in about a day later and lasts a few days: slight nausea, some physical uncoordination, and a feeling of -lightness- that thankfully persists once the odd physical symtoms subside.

I mention this because you mention St. Michael, who's usually invoked for protection. You didn't mention the circumstances of your spell, so this is pure conjecture, but I wonder if it is possible you are having the same kind of reaction to an archangel's presence that I do to spiritual cleansing work.

Hello all,
Its great to be here !
I have been lurking around reading posts and trying to get a hang of things..
I want to try my very first spell, and my target is my husband! He is a really nice person, but has one very irritating habit of going on and on at the kids and being an over demanding/perfectionist type. I really think kids are suffering because of it as they are scared to an inch of their lives in trying to behave perfectly, and too frightened to express themselves..over the last few years I am beginning to see their personalities change
Thing is, he is not a bad person at all, I just want him to stop going on and on and on about the small stuff so much as its ruining the peace of our home, and hurting the kids... I have tried talking to him , but it does not seem to have any impact ...is there anything to make him shut up somewhat in a safe, gentle but effective way?
Weird request i know, but there it is!!
thanks
Gandhi

Sounds like Hubby needs to chill out. Start a honey jar on him, you have access to all of his personal concerns so it should start to work rather quickly. I'd dress the candle with either Influence or Essence of Bend Over oil so he starts paying attention and following your advice with the kids and also add some Healing powder to the candle after you dress it with oil as he may have some emotional problems that cause him to act in such a controlling manner. In addition, spiritual cleanse your home and dress it with Peaceful Home oil, and use Peaceful Home incense regularly.

Have you looked at the peaceful home products? You may also consider a cleansing as well prior to employment. Look at LMs cleansing and peaceful home products. Since this is your first spell you may consider the spell kits.

Peaceful home http://www.luckymojo.com/spell-peaceful-home.html

A cleansing could be as simple as a three ingredient bath, and use that bath water to wash down your home look at the various herbs used for cleansing

Rosemary has the wonderful effect of allowing the woman to gently and lovingly dominate the home; you can incorporate it into your spells and feed it to the family as well. Try these easy and yummy recipes:

Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
Heat oven to 350 F
Peel and cut potatoes into 1/8th's
Toss potatoes with olive oil
Season with sea salt, pepper and rosemary
Bake until tender and browned on edges a bit, turning gently once during cooking
Cooking time will depend upon type of potato used, but estimated time is 25-40 minutes.

Rosemary Butter
Finely mince rosemary and added to melted, salted butter
Serve with bread

Good luck,
Michelle

You could try a more gentle version of the freezer spell - using the fridge to "chill him out". Use peaceful/tranquility herbs and some sweetener (honey, etc) with it with the intent that he lighten up, act sweeter and more peaceful, and cill out.

I agree with everyone's ideas. In addition, you can use some cast off evil products to help get rid of some bad habits, but the honey jar sounds wonderful too.

Thank you all so much!
This is so perfect..and it feels like good stuff, not much of an element of compulsion.
@ Mother mystic: it was very insightful of you to add the note on the need for him to heal hiself as well...i think that is large part of the problem..i will start with the cleansing tomorrow

@ copperfox: i like the rosemary idea, i just bought some wonderful artisan bread the other day and will make up this butter to go with it..is it ok to add rosemary to garlic butter?

@Devi Spring: for the fridge spell, do i put the honey jar in the fridge with the intent to chill out?..i can certainly do it , but just wanted to clarify what it entailed...and then on the appropriate days, would i take it out and light a candle on it? i would really appreciate it if you could explain it to me.

Excited to begin!!! Tomorrow is also my birthday, so i feel good starting the cleansing process and praying for peace in my little family.
thanks all..will keep you posted!

Sure, add it to whatever you like -- mashed potatoes are good, too. (What man doesn't like mashed potatoes?) You can also include rosemary in your fridge "chill out" spell and compound dried, ground rosemary in with your regular incence.

I'm not 100% sure what Devi had in mind, perhaps she'll clarify, but I don't believe she actually meant to create a honey jar and place it in the fridge. A honey jar would be a separate option for you to consider. A freezer spell is ususally crafted in a freezer safe container -- the simplest versions are just a name paper & personal concerns frozen in the jar. To give it a more "honey jar" feel, you could take your container, fill it with sugar water, name paper, personal concerns and then add in some of the herbs appropriate to your situation. Some you may have ready access to would include: rosemary, basil, lavender. Any of the love/happy home herbs would be great. So as not to actually freeze your fella, but just "chill him out" place this in the fridge, someplace it won't be disturbed. On Monday, Wednesday & Friday (or as you feel moved to do so) you could dress a small candle, pray your intention over it and burn it and some of your incense.

Don't forget to keep yourself and the home well-cleansed to prevent the build-up of negative energy. Something as simple as diluting some Chinese wash, Florida water, a few drops of appropriate condition oil (your choice) plus a bit of salt in a spray bottle of water can be lightly spray around the room to clear up the "imminent thunderstorm" feel a house gets right before it hits the fan. My husband is a great, easy-going guy, but works a lot and sometimes brings home his frustrations. A great (FUN!) way to dissipate that is to offer to help him wash in the shower -- pick up some of the sandalwood based spiritual soap or the like -- I've used the Parrot Botanicals #333 (clove & citronella, lovely!)and soaps with rosemary. Men don't get a lot of that sort of pampering and I can tell he really enjoys and appreciates this, plus it has the added cleansing effect I'm after.

Good luck & Happy Birthday!

You got it Michelle - I did not intend for you to make and put a honey jar in the fridge. The way Michelle describes it is certainly one very good way to work it.

An even more simple version would be to take his picture and personal concerns (at least get some hair), write your petition out, then smear a nice amount of honey all on it and add any herbs in the middle. Fold it up. Then make a nice thick wad of paper towels and wet them, placing the petition packet in the center of them. Then place that inside a plastic fridge container and put it in the fridge.

I guess it's really the same amount of work as using the sugar water - so it's up to you what you do.

Thank you for clarifying!
I was wondering how a honey jar would be alternately chilled and then 'heated' up by a candle. Will do this tomorrow when i am all alone in the morning!
Thanks for all your advice and the time you take to teach others...it is really amazing! God bless you all!
thank you also for the birthday wishes..I am determined to move some serious energy this year and get things rolling! :-)

I'm suffering badly from PTSD, in particular the depression and emotional flatlining. I'm worried, obsessive, and miserable all of the time, and It's hard for me to feel any emotion. Some days are better than others, but most of them are bad, and on my bad days my partner of two years who I love very much cries nearly every time he talks to me because it's like talking to a robot, I'm just not here. Medication and things like that is helping a little, but not very much. Is there any kind of conjure (or series of conjures, probably) I could work to help me let go of everything, find closure, and be tranquil, peaceful, and clean inside? Especially, I just wish I could feel love for my boyfriend fully again. I still can, but it's very dim, like a five-foot-thick wall of steel is separating me from my emotions. It hurts me a lot. I was thinking of lighting (or having lit) a Chuparrosa candle just for that, but I think it would work better if I had a way to tackle the core problem in addition to that. I'm terrified of losing my feelings completely, like on the days when I'm not here, if I stay away for too long I won't be able to come back. It would be good if I could stop worrying about this. It's killing me to to obsess over this all of the time, and even when I am here or mostly here I'm always second-guessing whether I'm really feeling anything or feeling enough. It's difficult to live. Any advice would be really helpful, thanks.

I am sorry to heart about how you feel. I know that this can be a difficult thing to work through, but I am glad that you have a lover that is willing to stick through your side through the depression and PTSD.

First, I think you need to do a cleansing. So I would recommend taking a 13 herb bath, along with a tranquility bath. If you feel comfortable you might want to work with St. Dymphna. She helps with mental issues, and depression. She is a great help to those that suffer from this just like you, and I have definitely seen her work

Lastly, I know you said that medication is not of a lot of help for you. The well-being of a person that suffers from depression and trauma is not all solved by medication...it should be coupled with counseling. I recommend that you seek some counseling, and perhaps you might need a medication adjustment from a psychiatrist. Medication can help manage some symptoms, but psychotherapy can help you would through other issues, and help you learn how to cope. Conjure will not take the place of actual real medical or therapuetic advice.

Thank you. I'll definitely look through the threads and try working with St. Dymphna.

(As for psychotherapy, I've been trying to make arrangements these past couple of months, but it's difficult for me because I have no work and up until a couple weeks ago when they put me on state I didn't have any insurance, either. Trying to get access to the state mental health services is a job for Sisyphus. I'm doing my best to get help, though.)

Im not sure what state you live in. However, there should be some private resources that can help you. Most places with offer services on a sliding scale (based on your income) or even for free.

I need help getting someone out of my head. My partners' exes come before my mind and often these are women I have never met! This has happened to me on several ocassions, especially during visualizations. On several occasions, it has been an intuition that they were around and in communication... other times it meant nothing.

My question is how do I banish these thoughts from coming up when I do magickal work or visualization? It's like some weird default in my brain.

Thanks for any help on this one. It's getting to me

Hello there

Reading this and your other thread - I imagine you're 'obsessing' in general, not just when you sit down to do work. There's a good suggestion by Dr Johannes about an egg cleansing to clear repetitive thoughts in your head here:

cut-and-clear-t5253.html#p30160

I'd also start with good cleansing baths too, since you're about to do spellwork anyway.

Good luck!

Thank you . I read his post and it is very helpful. Have always used eggs to get of of negativity, but not quite in the Dr.'s
prescribed manner.
Hopefully someday in the near future I will be able to post without sounding totally insane! :D

A cleansing bath can also go a long way to clear yourself of obsessive thoughts. Simple salt can be prayed over, or another traditional spiritual bath.

Couple this with regular egg cleansings to keep your mind clear and focused.

You can also work with Clarity products to help with mental matters and help clear the "fog" of these stray thoughts.

Before any major working if you take the corresponding bath you'll find yourself in a space better suited for your spellworking, it helps you focus, and really enter the mood for spellcasting.

Hello everyone.

I have panic attacks fairly often. Usually they are pretty minor, just a feeling of anxiety but sometimes it can get bad  . I am working with my doctor and it has helped but I would like to address it spiritually as well. Through readings I've ruled out spiritual attracts, I keep up content protections and follow a spiritual cleaning regiment anyways, so that narrows everything down a bit. I guess I'm just way to close to this problem, cause I can't think of much to help myself, lol.

So any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I also suffer from anxiety and I am not sure what spiritual things you could use but lavender oil always helps me, a drop on a tissue inside my pillow at night helps and also meditating over a white candle dressed with a calming oil (like crucible of courage of king solomon) helps calm me.

True lavender is an anti-manic, and from a strictly medical point of it use can be effective in calming racing thoughts.

My grandmother would take 3-5 four-holed shell buttons, put a cross stitch in each and then stitch them together ( using thick white cotton thread). She would put a few drops of scented oil on the threads and give them to people to carry as pocket worry pieces.

She once told me "Children loose their marbles, adults lose their buttons."

I still carry the set she made me every day, I've had to restitch it a few times over the years.

A soothing and tranquil mojo hand that combines elements of healing may help further the process of overcoming the anxiety attacks. Althea to sooth and Angelica to guard may be a good addition to the mojo hand.

I've seen such mojo hands for such cases and people actually use them sort of like worry dolls. They speak to the spirit of the mojo hand when they are troubled or feel a panic attack coming on and it helps them keep things under control.

You an also include Clarity and Healing products to help you get to the core of why you are having the attacks and how to heal.

From a slighly different perspective there is a belief that panic attacks that have no immediate cause are a result of entities that exist on a subtle plane. They don't actually attack the individual, but them passing near by or latching on will cause such symptoms in the individual. It might be worth looking into.

good luck.
