Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
READ THIS IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE POSTING TO THE FORUM
If you find that you are having trouble posting, read through these basic instructions and see if there is anything here that will help you. Then post to this thread with any questions that aren't covered here or in our FAQ (see below).
If you're reading this, you're using a browser. Open another browser window to refer to these instructions or copy them out into another file for reference.
Point your browser to http://forum.luckymojo.com at the top level of the forum.
If you aren't logged in yet, then in the "Username" field type your login name.
In the "Password" field type your password, then click "Login".
Wait a moment to be taken back to the Board index page (the top level of the forum, a good place for a bookmark!).
Scan down the Board index page and become familiar with its various subforums for future reference.
In the third section down on that page you'll see the "HOODOO, ROOTWORK, AND CONJURE COMMUNITY" subforum, composed of a number of threads.
The first one there is "Introductions and Greetings"; click on that.
Click on "2013 Introductions" subforum and begin to examine the threads within it.
You'll see a variety of posts initiating threads there that are introductory.
You should also see a red "NEW TOPIC" button that you can click to start your own introductory thread.
Once you've clicked that button you'll see a breadcrumb trail indicating where you are in the board under the green Lucky Mojo logo banner. It should read:
"Board index < Hoodoo, Rootwork, and Conjure Community < Introductions and Greetings < 2013 Introductions"
Under that you'll see the "User Control Panel" button, where you can adjust all your profile details including signature, login name, and password.
Having clicked the "NEW TOPIC" button, you'll now also see, below the Sister-Site banner ad, "2013 Introductions" and "POST A NEW TOPIC", ready with fields for "Subject" (such as "Introduction", or "Hello From Jersey!", or whatever suits your style), and in the larger white field, your message of introduction.
When you've completed your introductory post, then click "Preview", below the text field ,and see what it looks like.
Immediately above the text field, the output from your intro post should appear. You can then make any changes to it that you like and preview them numerous times before clicking "Submit" to send it to moderators. The first *3* posts all new members make will require a moderator approval, and you'll be notified when it is approved via the forum message system. That's all there is to posting!
To find more information about how to use the Lucky Mojo forum, please log in, go to the Board Index, and at the top of the page near where it says "Logout", between "Lucky Mojo Forum Rules" and "Members" you'll see a "FAQ" link. Click that and you'll be taken to much rudimentary information instructing you as to how to use PHP Bulletin Boards.
If you have additional problems posting, post them to this thread and we'll try to field them as they come up. good luck!

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
Hello. Just as a heads up, a few times now when I go to post a reply I get a page that says "No post mode specified" I can hit the back button and hit the submit button again and it works, but it is a bit annoying so I thought I'd put it out there in case forum support wants to take a look at it.

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
Hi Cat,
I tried to post to the HRCC Yahoo Group, as I am a student (#1504), but my letter won't post.
All e-mails I try to send via the L.M. website or the HRCC group website get bounced back.
So, I am trying here as a last resort. I also tried to see you at the shop, but you were not there on Friday....and then it was the new year's holiday.
As a student, I am listed as inactive. I thought that the listing wasn't to be made as "inactive status" until after Jan. 1, 2011, but it showed that way in December. So I am trying to fix that.
The HRCC group list does show me as a member, and has my current e-mail address.
The student listing by # does not have my current e-mail or address or city/zip code.
I turned in homework on Friday, Dec. 31 -- #'s 1, 2, and 3, when I visited the shop.
Also a letter and a gift.
Just wanted to make sure you got them.
I also left my new address and phone # with the shop.
Please let me know if you need anything else from me.
I'd like to be on active status again.
Thank you and sorry for a posting this in this forum.
Best wishes to you in the new year, as well as nagasiva and sophie.

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
That's because you are listed as an inactive student.I tried to post to the HRCC Yahoo Group, as I am a student (#1504), but my letter won't post.
The best way to reach the shop is at the regular ordering email (order@luckymojo.com) and if you have questions about your homework status, just email nagasiva (homework@luckymojo.com) -- neither of those will bounce. But ... anyway, you got me here! All e-mails I try to send via the L.M. website or the HRCC group website get bounced back. So, I am trying here as a last resort.
Nagasiva and i were out of town for our wedding anniversary. I'm sorry we missed you.I also tried to see you at the shop, but you were not there on Friday....and then it was the new year's holiday.
Nagasiva made the change a bit early this year, as we were going to be out of town on January 1st. You got caught right in the midst of that, it seems. As a student, I am listed as inactive. I thought that the listing wasn't to be made as "inactive status" until after Jan. 1, 2011, but it showed that way in December. So I am trying to fix that.
It looks to me like it does -- at least, it is the same as the one in our database. The HRCC group list does show me as a member, and has my current e-mail address, but the student listing by # does not have my current e-mail or address or city/zip code.
I got the gift -- it is absolutely delightful. Thank you so much! You know my taste well!I turned in homework on Friday, Dec. 31 -- #'s 1, 2, and 3, when I visited the shop. Also a letter and a gift. Just wanted to make sure you got them.
I presume that the homework is in nagasiva's pile and i will keep an eye out for it on Friday, January 7th, when we have our next homework party.
As i noted above, i see no change in the database indicating a new address was recently changed (the database keeps a record of all changes).I also left my new address and phone # with the shop.
I am sure you will be listed as Active when your homework is graded this Friday. Please let me know if you need anything else from me. I'd like to be on active status again.
No problem! Thank you for staying in touch -- and thanks again for the wonderful Holiday gift.Thank you and sorry for a posting this in this forum.
And the same to you and to yours in return.Best wishes to you in the new year, as well as nagasiva and sophie.

Thanks Cat! Glad you got it.
Happy anniversary to you both too.
Just in case....my homework was in a red folder.
I am sure it'll be fine.
Thank you again for your reply.

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
Yes, i just banned everyone from the forum, including myself -- and then i couldn't get back in to unban myself. nagasiva was the only person left unbanned, because he has founders' privileges, and founders cannot be banned. So he unbanned me, and then i unbanned everyone else.
How did i do this?
Well, i was trying to ban an Asian porn site spammer and clicked the wrong dealie-bobbber.
Sorry for the inconvenience. It was a bit scary there for a moment, but all is back to normal, i hope. (Fingers crossed)

Ah now it makes sense to me.. I was wondering what terrible thing I had done to be permanently banned from this site
Congratulations on sorting things out, it must have been frustrating not being able to go online yourself either...

Laugh at the little bumps! Breathe a good strong sigh of relief!
(I realize I can only say this because I did not notice the ban myself...I'm sure I would have been a little shaken!)
Yays for Nagasiva...great to see everything righted again!

Yes I was also wondering what horrible deed I did, but decided to go check out the Lucky Mojo Facebook page, where my fears were eventually put to rest. Felt like I had lost a wonderful place in my life for a good while there. Very good that you both have founder status!

Good thing I checked the FB page only today, cause I usually open the forum page first. The whole situation of you banning yourself from your own forum gave me a good laugh Ms Cat,but I wouldn't find it that funny if I'd checked the forum page too and found myself banned! Good thing you have Founder status now and congrats to Nagasiva for saving the day

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
Hi, since around 2-3 days ago, I cannot post in certain topics? I can post in some, and I went into the Books, Pamplets & Tarot Card index and cannot post. In fact, it says New topic, and when I sign it, it actually disappears. So, I signed out and then went to New Topic, and then, it asked me of course to sign in. Then after I did it said "you cannot post in the forum". I don't know what other ones, either, I believe the newer ones, also it won't let me, the ones about the Hoodoo Radio show. I know Nagasiva was working on updating the forum, so maybe that is it?
Thanks A lot

Hi, I was about to report a copyright violation when I noticed that I'm actually unable to post in that forum.
Since it is an issue of board settings, I decided to place this here- is that forum no longer intended for reports?

Hum, it's not giving me the option to post in that thread either. In the thread I linked to in the first post: I'm not sure if there's any violation from page 1, however I know for sure that there's information directly copy and pasted from both the informative pages, and some even directly from the shop pages (on one such occasion the person forgot to delete a price tag and SKU).
Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
I would like to make a report in that forum, but I don't seem to have a "new topic" button to start a thread. I found a site with at least 3 exact copies of spells and they all seem to have been plagiarized by the same person. http://www.spells4free.com/myarticles/I ... rticles/56

Does this forum not allow one to post a reply on older post,I think that may be the reason why I wasn't able to post on the forum, thanks in advance for answering my post whom ever you may be....

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
Hi,
I too have tried to contact the Board Administrator regarding problems with changing my email address. I keep getting my email coming back to me saying unable to send.
When I try and change my email address it say the address is already in use and keeps retaining my former email address. If someone could advise or help me out with this matter as am a little of a techno phobe.
Many thanks

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
When you've completed your introductory post, then click "Preview" and see what it looks like.

Hi Tessa42,
Your posts are there, they have not disappeared, they just need to go through moderation prior to being released on the forum since you are new and thus are not released immediately for public view. Please be patient, we are a limited number of moderators to read a very vast number of posts for approval. Both your initial post and response to Miss Aida have been approved and are in the thread on honey jars.
If you can't find where your posts are on the forum, since sometimes we merge them with existing threads where applicable, go to your profile by clicking on your name and "search recent posts" -- you will find it.

Hi everyone,
I posted a reply in a forum earlier today and I am waiting for it to be approved. I understand the moderators are limited but roughly how long does it take for a post to appear ? I done it about 5 hours ago now.
Thank you all in advance.
Sarah

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
The approval process depends on how many moderators are on-line and how many posts are in the queue. The time it takes to approve can be minutes or days - there is no specific time-limit.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: Trouble Posting, Cannot Post
Lovemagic,
New members are on moderation for the first few posts. This is how we keep out spammers, by inspecting EVERYBODY'S initial posts. That means there's a delay until your first few posts are approved.
And the PM system is a little weird; messages are still labeled as being in your Outbox until the recipient has seen them, so it looks like they haven't gone anywhere even though they're "out there."
Hope this helps,
Miss Michaele

I posted an introductory greeting, but i can't post on the forums and i really needed advice.

So i was finally able to post on the ammonia jar thread, but i still can not post on the honey jar thread. I keep getting that same error and i'm really getting upset and discouraged. I've been trying to post for 3 days
I really need advice on my situation.

Hello, FB30 ,
Sometimes this just happens.
In fact, it has happened to me a couple of times just tonight! LOL. I've even been kicked off the forum!!
I just sign out and then log back in
Technology is sometimes frustrating.
