HOODOO BIBLE MAGIC:
SACRED SECRETS OF SCRIPTURAL SORCERY
by Miss Michaele and Professor Charles Porterfield

It has been said that we are created in God's own image. There are those who know and understand this to mean that IN EACH OF US IS A SPARK OF THE DIVINE -- a spark which can aid us to attain wisdom, riches, love, joy, health, and success through the power of God's Holy Word.

THIS IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT!

Practical, honest, and straightforward, this book teaches the history and unlocks the mystery of Christian Conjuration with the Holy Scriptures. Learn ancient traditional spells of Psalmic Magic from forgotten books of Jewish wisdom preserved by African American elders, open the Bible's treasure-house of Secret Charms and Sacred Amulets, and prepare yourself for revelations and wonders. The Bible is a magic book! THIS book tells you just how to use it!

Questions the Whole World Has Asked Are Now Answered!

Miss Michaele is a spirit-guided and spirit-led reader and conjure worker, the proprietor of Hoodoo Foundry, and pastor of the Caroline Dye Memorial Chapel candle ministry. She divines with tarot cards and figured crystals, and is a skilled bibliomancer. She and her husband reside in Northern California.

Professor Charles Porterfield is an Old Testament, old-school reader and root worker, and a proud member of Missionary Independent Spiritual Church. A natural man, he specializes in men's issues and the Biblical aspects of hoodoo. Texas born and raised, he lives with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

To answer queries about Amazon sales:

"Hoodoo Bible Magic" is a publication of Missionary Independent Spiritual Church.

It is currently available through the Lucky Mojo Curio Company. It is also available, both at sub-wholesale case prices and at standard wholesale cost, to all book stores, online metaphysical vendors, and occult distributors, should they choose to carry it for profitable retail sales.

I am sure that Amazon, never one to miss a chance at profitable retail sales, will be carrying it shortly. Until then, you may order it from the sponsor of this Forum, the Lucky Mojo Curio Co., which has purchased a case for retail sales and will continue to keep it in stock! Thanks.

I've gone ahead and placed my order. I've been awaiting this book for a while, I am so excited to get to read it since I was not going to be able to attend this year's festival.

Hope it gets here soon!

I read through this entire book & found it very useful. I have a question about the working to get someone to do as you say (p.72). Would this be more effective if you 5 spotted the paper with some Do As I Say oil?

Yes you could dress the paper and put it in your shoe and work it that was, that is an adaptation that perfectly makes sense and would work. More effective maybe but it was a quote from a worker and what they do and to them that was the effective work. But to you dressing the paper and wearing it in the shoe in the same way may work better. there are variations with work but still follow the same constructs and principles. Hope it helps and best of luck!

Thank you. It will probably work better for me this way because I feel naked if I don't use an oil with my workings, since I've discovere conjure oils. Lol.

Is it possible to substitute Bible with Koran, or any other book for that matter?

Spider47,

then its not hoodoo, that would be like going to a traditional form of Islamic prayer and asking is it ok to use the bible or any other book, rather insulting. Hoodoo is predominantly christian and rooted deep in that culture. If you want to use "any other book", then you maybe more interested in another form of folk magic.

I can read the bible, its just that reading as a college student is a prioritized effort. And I only have enough time to read so much.

Spider47,

Well, then Hoodoo Bible Magic is a great handbook for the busy brain worker. Chock full of spells, and many of the scriptures used are quoted right there in the book.

Secrets of the Psalms, too, contains the whole book of Psalms plus instructions for the magical use of each one.

And there's a link to order Hoodoo Bible Magic at the beginning of this thread.

Good luck,

Ok. I have been doing a ton of reading: Gods, Demons and Symbols of Ancient Mesopotamia, Demon Lovers, Hebrew Godesses, Moses 6/7, History of the Devil, Jewish Magic and Superstition, Ritual Medieval Lore of Sephardic Women, The Evil Eye, Jewish Superstitions, Power of the Psalms, Shimmush Tehillim -- and I gotta say: Hoodoo Bible Magic is FANTASTIC. So well written. It is simply fascinating. I have so many ideas and am learning so much. I really want to write a companion piece or sister book...

On page 28 of Hoodoo Bible Magic, I see the reference to the text of the Mezuzah being from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (nine) when I think it might be Deuteronomy 6:4-19 (nineteen). See Trachtenberg page 146. Anyone know the correct answer?

In a halachically correct mezuzah the klaf (scroll) contains the handwritten first two sections of the Shema, beginning with “Hear o Israel, the L‑rd is our G‑d, the L‑rd is One.” from Devarim - Deuteronomy 6:4-9:

"4 Hear, O Israel: The L-rd is our G-d; the L-rd is one.
5 And you shall love the L-rd, your G-d, with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your means.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be upon your heart.
7 And you shall teach them to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk on the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.
8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for ornaments between your eyes.
9 And you shall inscribe them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates.
"

as well as Devarim - Deuteronomy 11:13-21:

"13 And it will be, if you hearken to My commandments that I command you this day to love the L-rd, your G-d, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14 I will give the rain of your land at its time, the early rain and the latter rain, and you will gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil.
15 And I will give grass in your field for your livestock, and you will eat and be sated.
16 Beware, lest your heart be misled, and you turn away and worship strange gods and prostrate yourselves before them.
17 And the wrath of the L-rd will be kindled against you, and He will close off the heavens, and there will be no rain, and the ground will not give its produce, and you will perish quickly from upon the good land that the L-rd gives you.
18 And you shall set these words of Mine upon your heart and upon your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand and they shall be for ornaments between your eyes.
19 And you shall teach them to your sons to speak with them, when you sit in your house and when you walk on the way and when you lie down and when you rise.
20 And you shall inscribe them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates,
21 in order that your days may increase and the days of your children, on the land which the L-rd swore to your forefathers to give them, as the days of heaven above the earth.
"

Both of these selections both contain the instructions to affix the mezuzah: “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

However, no such instructions in regards to the mezuzah appear in Devarim - Deuteronomy 6:10-19:

"10 And it will be, when the L-rd, your G-d, brings you to the land He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and good cities that you did not build,
11 and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and hewn cisterns that you did not hew, vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant, and you will eat and be satisfied.
12 Beware, lest you forget the L-rd, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
13 You shall fear the L-rd, your G-d, worship Him, and swear by His name.
14 Do not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are around you.
15 For the L-rd, your G-d, is a zealous G-d among you, lest the wrath of the L-rd, your G-d, be kindled against you, and destroy you off the face of the earth.
16 You shall not try the L-rd, your G-d, as you tried Him in Massah.
17 Diligently keep the commandments of the L-rd, your G-d, and His testimonies. and His statutes, which He has commanded you.
18 And you shall do what is proper and good in the eyes of the L-rd, in order that it may be well with you, and that you may come and possess the good land which the L-rd swore to your forefathers,
19 to drive out all your enemies from before you, as the L-rd has spoken.
"

In Jewish Magic And Superstition: A Study in Folk Religion by Joshua Trachtenberg (1939) on page 146, the text reads:

"Descended from a primitive charm, affixed to the door-post to keep demons out of the house, the rabbinic leaders gave it literally a religious content in the shape of a strip of parchment inscribed with Biblical verses, Deut. 6:4-19, 11:13-20. in the hope that it might develop into a counter reminder of the principle of monotheism - a wise attempt to re-interpret instead of an unavailing prohibition."

Of this difference in the information, I can make little comment. Perhaps a printer's error? Perhaps a minhag, in his area or time? I, personally, disagree with Trachtenberg on his interpretations of the history, meaning, and use of the mezuzah in the above-quoted text and would instead quote a perhaps less well-known source, Blu Greenberg:

"A mezuzah is not meant to be a protective device, nor lack thereof a source of direct punishment. A mezuzah is a sign and reminder of the Covenant, of our love and commitment and our willingness to create a Jewish household. That, in itself, is sufficient!"

In your service,
Professor Porterfield

Thanks Professor. May I ask why you disagree with Trachtenberg on the history, meaning and use of the mezuzah—his references are impeccable. I have gone to the cited sources and the information seems solid.

How can it not be a “protective device”. It was clearly originated to chase demons away and protect the home; and is still worn as a personal amulet of protection today.

BTW, I know it’s slightly off topic but do you, by chance, Lnow where I might find Seder Gematriot?
