Unread post by Celebrant » Sun Dec 29, 2013 3:00 am

Greetings everyone from Australia, and merry Christmas to those who celebrate.

I would like to start the year 2014 fresh, to put any things such as hurt/financial stress/ unhappiness aside Not those things specifically, just all the "bad" times from 2013 in general whilst retaining all the lovely parts of life.

I would also like to have something nice to perform to welcome in the new year, with a fresh, clean outlook, full of positivity, financial happiness, health and general life happiness.

I seek the advice of those who might have some spells/rituals that would help me do both of those things.

I am not sure whether do to a banishing type spell to banish the bad parts, then some sort of opening road type spell one after the other?

Or perhaps to do only one spell, and at the beginning make a statement about letting go of 2013 and then move on to saying what I want for 2014?

I do plan to do a lovely clean and freshen up of my house on the 31st also to make it feel all new, and I do have my goals set also.

If you have some lovely ideas, I would so appreciate if you were to share them with me. I thank you very much in advance for any replies, and I wish for you and your families all the wishes you hope for in 2014.

Lots of recipes for New Year Foods as a form of spell-casting in the Hoodoo Foods! Cookbooks.

On the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour Radio Show for December 29th, 2013, our guest, Madame Pamita, gave a nice three-ingredient house blessing spell for the New Year. It is near the end of the show, in the Free Spell segment of the program.

It is also a good time of the year to do cleansing and set up protections for your home, your self, and your family at the turn of the New Year as well. Many people make resolutions and this comes from a much older form of magic at the turn of the year. It is a great time to take stock of what you have and what you might want to accomplish. Then you can set your goals (both magical and mundane) on how you are going to achieve them.

Also mentioned on the radio show yesterday was divination. After a good cleansing on the 1st I always do a annual read to see what I can expect from the coming year.

Planting seed on Birthday is very good idea. The plant Grows as we grow up. Its quite interesting. I haven't tried it yet, but on my coming birthday will definitely going to try it out.

Hello All,

I'd like to know any recommendations for a birthday ritual or blessing. I had a difficult past year and could use some positive energy as my solar return approaches. My wishes.. The areas I need sweetness in are:

1. Home (peaceful home needed, my neighbors are terrors)
2. Financial Prosperity
3. Love

I should also add my birthday falls on a full moon this year.

I wonder what I can do to aid my intentions to manifest success in these areas towards a blessed new year as I evolve.

Any advice or suggestion will be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks! :) \

Happy upcoming birthday, Nysunra. I am not sure if this topic has ever been discussed here. I suppose it is a kind of New Year situation, but more personal. I do know thatmany people schedule readings (cards, horoscopes, or bone readings) on their birthday, to find out their luck for the coming year. Some readers give extra time allowance for the so-called "Birthday Special" reading.

Hello Nysunra,

Happy upcoming birthday! I really liked the suggestion that coastwitch gave you about getting a reading; I think around your birthday is a great time to do that.

I think some other auspicious things to do would be to do a Road Opener spell to open your roads for the coming year, as well as doing a wishing spell. You can read about both here:

http://www.luckymojo.com/roadopener.html
michael-gabriel-and-raphael-the-3-day-w ... 11901.html

Follow the Road Opener work with some Van Van work, to bring love, luck and all good things into your life:

Lastly, if you want to do something about your awful neighbors, check out this thread:

Take care!

I really love this topic! Last year I prepared food from this topic for New year and I got a really good job few days after.

I do have two question though...

1. Should I use Road Opener and Van Van on Dec 31st or Jan 1st? (I will cleanse myself with 13 herb bath and my home with Chinese wash on the 31st).

2. Is there a ritual or food for finding love in 2020.?

Thank you ❤️

LA1985,

It is a great topic and I am planning my menu for New Years right now.

1. This is personal preference. I would cleanse on the 31st to wash away the old and do the Road Opener on the 1st to open the way ahead. Again, I don't believe there is a hard rule about it.

2. You really stumped me on this one. I'm looking and looking and can't think of one but I know I have heard of at least one. Sorry, but I just can't remember where I have seen it. If I come across it, I'll post it. I'd say just about any love spell would be good. The moon is waxing and the 1st is perfect. If you find one you like, go for it!

LA1985,

1) Cleaning out the old year and inviting a tall, dark-haired man in to be the first entrant (the "first footer") of the New Year is an old Scottish tradition that has been firmly implanted in African American folk magic for hundreds of years. It matters not if he visits just after midnight or is the first one in the door in the morning -- but many folks stay up late for his arrival, and he may visit many homes before he goes to bed. The first meal of the New Year is Hopping John, beans and rice, or black eyed peas and greens with cornbread on the side. See the book "Hoodoo Food" for recipes. New Year's day is generally spent cleaning.

2) The traditional "New Year's Resolution" is the way to connect love, money, health, or ambition spells to the New Year. Resolve, "This is the year i will look for love every day, keep myself open to all offers of love, and follow my heart in matters of love. This year my goal, above all other matters, is to be embraced, adored, and fully committed to love. May every step i take lead me toward love. May every word i speak be a word of love. May everyone i meet see the love in my heart and make it their goal to bring my lover to me if they can in any way assist."
