Hello, CosmicSoul, and welcome to our forum.

This thread was started because people do have a lot of questions about how to interpret or read candles, such as:

* candle flames (including popping, hissing, low, high, and flickering flames)

* candle wicks (including knotted or split wicks)

* candle wax (on both free-standing and encased candles)

* candle glass (including breaking and smoke patterns on glass)

* candle remains (including shapes, unexpected fires, and scorch marks)

We cannot answer specific questions here in the forum. Reading candles and candle glass is like reading tarot. It's something you either do for yourself or you can hire a professional to conduct the reading.

To educate yourself, i have written the following FREE web page:

http://luckymojo.com/candlemagicdivination.html

And there is more information on spells that involve candle burning -- and candle reading -- in this book

Unread post by SagittariusLover128 » Mon Sep 03, 2018 7:18 pm

So today on this good 'ol Monday I burned both my honey jars-- one with a white candle, one with a red candle (I found my red candle stash after I had already lit the white candle lol)-- they're both love honey jars just two separate people. Both candles were double dressed-- with oils and herbs-- the jar with the red candle had a high flame through the entire burn; now if I'm not mistaken that's a good thing!

But .. what confused me was the jar with the white candle-- that flame started as normal and ended up a little high as well, but not as high as the other jar.. but the jar with the white candle also did something I've never seen at the end of the burn! Once it got down to the end and there was basically nothing left to burn, the wick in a sense relit itself as if it had no intention of going out! It did this twice before actually going out 🤔 Once it finally went out I could smell the smoke a lot more than the first jar ..matter of fact I didn't smell the jar with the red candle at all when it went out!

I read the page on candle divination-- I actually have a PDF of the webpage saved in iBooks for quick, convenient viewing; but I couldn't figure out how to interpret the white candle.. any suggestions or helpful tips for my next burn on Wednesday?
Thank you St. Jude! Your help was much appreciated!

Just a quick question... I lit a Pink candle with Attraction and Look Me Over oils plus some herbs for love. But my candle kinda split in to, had two flames, then one flame again and a lot of wax remains... And I get this ‘spell gone wrong kinda feeling’, can’t explain it :( Should I leave the remains on the crossroad, clean up, cleanse and do it again? I don’t know why but I feel I don’t want the remains near my home :(

Thank you in advance!!

LA1985,

If you think spell gone wrong then the work is dead, dispose of it. Two flames then becoming one can be two people coming together.

I’m not sure if two flames became one or that just one went out (too much herbs, ugh, I should have known better).

Thank you JayDee for the rescue. Again and again :)

LA1985,

Remember, you can learn to do your own candle readings by reading this FREE wen page in "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice":

http://luckymojo.com/candlemagicdivination.html

And do you have a copy of Miss Cat's book, "The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic"? If not, and you are burning your own candles at home, it is simply the best $9.00 you will invest in your candle work. I learned most of what I do as a professional Candle Deacon from Miss Cat directly, and most of what she knows is written down in that book.

So I did a spirit lead conjure by creating a honey jar with a petition inside --- for love and restored contact (I anointed it with a variety of oils) I also burned a pink Adam and eve couple candle on top of the jar which I inscribed and anointed with oils and personal concerns.

Why I did it -- I was with a guy who just cut me off without reason and blocked me from the phone but continued to follow me on instagram. Weird. I blocked him from my page but once I had some time to think about possible conjure or walking away I unblocked him so that he could contact me. We are not friends on there but he can see my page.
Everything was going so great and we even booked a trip together then suddenly out of the blue nothing.

I decided to do a honey jar after some soul searching and decided to go with my higher self and what I was lead to put into the conjure. I have always had good results with my work so I did what I was lead to do.

Before I did that I did a penis candle a few days ago and i gave it my intentions. I saw three signs in less than a day :
1- i pulled a book off the shelf that happened to be published in the town he is from.
2 - i saw a message on my time line that said "what if your ex boyfriend contacted you right now and said i love you i want you back" what would you do?
3 - my friend contacted me and his ringtone came on.

Today I went into my messages on insta (before sending him any new ones) and he was reading the old ones (I saw the little eye icon on them :))

QUESTIONS --- The couple candle is almost finished burning after only being lit 5 hours. I messaged him on insta and said no hard feelings and hope to hear from him. Then suddenly his side of the candle's flame went super high while mine stayed the same. I saw he was reading my message but didnt reply. Then hours later the two wicks twisted together and became one and then the flame shot up. It is still burning high. I think these are positive signs that he will reach out. What do you think? And should I burn another candle after this one goes out or just leave it? (Not trying to skip getting a reading -- just want to know in general).

mrsLight,

I would highly recommened a reading on this situation considering he "ghosted" you, and you do not have communication, and he is not responding. That being said the candle burning in about 5 hours straight is about right for a candle to burn. Many people burn the candles for a series of days such as 5-7-9 days and put it out after 15 mins. The high flame would signify the person being effected, the wicks coming together also a good sign.

The last time I burned my honey jar for my ex, which was the 5th burn since I started burning it, the flame started out low and began to alternate from low to high and then it remained high throughout the burn and danced a little. I'm use to the high, dancing flames and I know what they mean-- the new thing that happened is that some of the red candle fell onto my altar, but it was melted wax-- it was just some of the candle, no longer than the backspace key on the keyboard. Any suggestions?

I will also be doing my 6th burn tonight so hopefully that flame stays high!

SagittariusLover128,

Low flame then going high can be a sign of resistance wax melting depending on how it looks can be a sign of tears, look in the shape for meaning. If you are interested in candle reading I would get cats book.

Hello, I made a honey jar a couple months ago to sweeten a man to me. I worked the jar for about a month, and then I buried it on my property, because things were good with him and me. However, it seems like the energy/magic between us is dwindling, like a flame that starts to go out. I was wondering if it would be ok to dig up my jar and work on it (pray and burn candles) some more, to heat things up again. I can’t think of this being a problem, but I would love some other perspectives, and if this is not a good idea, why. Plus, if I have to make a new one, I don’t know if I would be able to get ahold of personal concern of his (that’s my because reason not to start a new one). Thank you for all that can help!

Yes, since honey does not go bad, you could dig it up and go again, but I suggest you also try using it in food that you make for him.

I know that some people bury honey jars to be walked over, but I have personally gotten my own greatest successes from using the honey in food for my loved one to eat.

This idea that "someone told me that I need to bury it" is currently making the rounds -- see the same question a few posts above yours. It is UNTRUE that you "need to bury it." You may do so, if you are laying a foot track spell, but there is no "need" to work that form of trick with sugar or honey.

briley57,

You do not need to dispose of a honey jar, it is custom for people to keep them for years, as coastwitch said the honey does not go bad so long nothing was inside like water to make it spoil. Many people burn a candle on it mon-wed-fr , others work it when needed, some burn a candle once a week or monthly. The choice is yours. For continued work, I would do it at least every friday for love. For your situation to increase the fire I would do it daily for 7 days and read a chapter each day of the Songs of Solomon. A great oil to add to the work is fire of love oil, and some ginger to heat up the love. There is a book by LM that is all about honey sweet jars, it is a great asset for those interested in this type of work.

Honey jar book: http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodoohoneyandsugarspells.html
oil to increase the passion: http://www.luckymojo.com/oil-fire-of-love.html
Herb you can add to the candle for increasing passion: http://www.herbmagic.com/juniper-berries.html
Ginger to heat up love: http://www.herbmagic.com/ginger-root.html
Cat nip another great love enhancing and passion herb: http://www.herbmagic.com/catnip.html

You can crush the herbs, mix them with a love powder you have like love me now and sprinkle a heart shape on a pan, place the honey jar in the center touching the peek of the heart. Take your candle inscribe the petition. Dress with oil and roll it in or dust it with the powder selected and left over rushed herbs ( this is called double dressing a candle). Now burn the candle on the jar. You can also make a spiritual bath with the herbs and bath in it as well.

briley57 ,

Songs of Solomon are found in the OT of the Bible right after the book Ecclesiastes. There are 8 chapters total in the book, but it only spans a few pages. Each day for 7 days you will read one chapter day 1 ch 1, day 2 ch 2 and so on till day 7 ch 7. The book is really a love story. You can also replace the phrase when he writes " my lover is.." and add the persons name instead so it would read "John doe is" its called adding them in. Nice way to work with scripture for a specific person or thing.

For some reason, I deided to read this thread from page one, and, My God, people just keep asking the same questions over and over!

So, in the interest of reducing Moderator workloads, here are "the answers you have all been waiting for" --

How long does honey last? FOREVER.

When does honey go bad? NEVER.

What does it mean when honey crystalizes? NOTHING; IT IS STILL GOOD HONEY.

Can I open the honey jar? YES.

Should I bury the honey Jar? NOT REALLY, UNLESS YOU ARE WORKING A FOOT-TRACK SPELL.

Should I keep the honey jar on an altar? IF YOU WANT TO; YOU CAN ALSO KEEP IT IN A SECRET PLACE.

Do I have to burn candles on my honey jar? NO.

How often should I burn candles on my honey jar? YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR OWN DAYS.

Are honey jars slower than other spells? NO.

What do I do with the wax from candles I burned on the honey jar? YOU CAN BURY IT.

What do I do with the honey? YOU CAN COOK WITH IT.

How do I dispose of a honey jar? WASH THE HONEY OUT INTO A RUNNING RIVER AND RECYCLE THE GLASS JAR.

There. Now everyone can just point newcomers to this post.

Helpful Rev Ernest

Hi Everyone!
I'm looking for a little help in determining the outcome of a candle I recently burnt. I have used a few candles in the past with preset intentions but this time I decided to burn a plain red palm wax candle for love. I wrote my intentions on the glass in permanent marker, dressed the candle with oils and herbs/flowers and may have overloaded it a bit initially. When I prayed, I prayed to god. I burned this off and on with breaks for about a month or two (sometimes I forgot, and for a while, I was out of town) but finished this up this past Saturday. As you can see, a chunk of the glass broke off at the top when I started burning this candle and to my surprise, also at the bottom of the container..but it still stands. Recently things have been going on in my love life that seem like fate, but could also be seen as coincidence...Any help in interpreting this?

(I couldn't upload images here so I hosted them online--links are safe :-)

aoao85,

Broken glass is almost always seen of a bad sign in working with a glass candle. When doing it to break through something such as a road opener it can be read as a good sign, or in work to break people up. In love work it is not a good sign. I would redo the candles. Its hard to read signs in a candle when its burned off and on because when you put it out it creates smoke and will cause the glass to darken. I would redo the work with a new candle, if you can let it burn all the way through. If you cannot then you can burn it like you did and have one set on the alter at the church by LM to back it up while you are not burning yours. Here is some books and links that would be of good interest.

Thank you! I was actually burning other candles at the same time (just got a new job) and this may have been the candles reacting together... so hopefully, that means good things.

Appreciate it

Hello everyone!

Earlier today i lit a 6 inch free standing red candle with a love petition under it. The candle had both our names, a short version of my petition and some oil on it.
It burned away normally until it got about halfway, suddenly the flame got huge and the candle started to burn very very quickly down the center creating a hole and then the outer walls would fold out and melt and fall apart. In a matter of minutes the candle was down to about 1/2 inch aand it calmed down and is now burning normally again.

Ive done a lot of successful candle spells but have never had this happen and although something inside me tells me its positive id like to hear your perspectives on the matter.

How would you interpret this?

Hello--this is my first post--so hopefully I am following protocol. I burned a Come to Me Candle in hoped to bring the right man in my life. I have an ungodly amount of black soot on the top half of the candle. So much so that it looks like I spray painted it black. the flame danced continuously through out the burn with a high flame. Candle took approximately 4 days to burn. The amount of black soot to me indicates bad mojo--any advice on how I should proceed?

Ase and Blessings!

I have been working with figure candles for quite a while now and never in the years have I ever seen one of my candles (woman) "sprout" a wing. The wax formed a wing off the right side of the back of the woman candle and shortly after burning half way down it went out. There was a strong, steady flame and it went out like it was blown out.

Any suggestions??? It's racking my brain, I've never experienced that before.

Thanks!!!

Re: Love Romance Sex Honey Jar Spell Kit Questions and Answers

Unread post by loveremains » Tue Sep 25, 2018 2:56 pm

A few questions about love honey jar spells:
1) In absence of personal concerns, what is the appropriate way of placing a photo? Inside petition paper or directly into the jar? Do I need to put my photo outside the jar so two photos face each other?
2) Which photo would be better? Old photo with clear face or newer photo without clear face?
3) Should I use birth name, official name or preferred name that I go by?
4) My mom will stay with me for a couple weeks. Can I pause the candle lighting on the jar while she's here? Or is it OK to continue once she discovers that I'm lighting candles? I can just tell her that I'm praying instead of doing spells.

Thanks for your help!

loveremains,

1. You can write the petition on the back of the photo and wrap it around the items as instructed.
1.A. No you do not need photos outside the jar but you can if you want to, or under the jar, or next to the jar, or on a vigil candle.
2. Clear faces
3. Birth name, power is in a name, include bdays after the name if you know them too like John Doe 1/22/87
4. Yes honey jars are a container jar meaning the honey with petition in a jar is a spell in itself. It happens to work very well with candles as an additive which many people opt to do. You will notice this in many other spells as well. The choice is yours. Most people light a pink or red candle for love on Mon/Wed/Fr/ Carve petition bottom to top, dress in love oil as you pray the petition and pray to God. Since its a love jar you may be interested in reading the Songs of Solomon, Read one chapter a day each day you light a candle. Continue doing this as you work, simply start over with chapter 1 when you hit the last chapter. LM has a vast amount of info on honey jars and a book written on the topic as well. As for mom, many people hide the work and do not let people see it. Also hoodoo is praying over the work.

The woman wants to sprout wings and fly. To interpret that, the reader would need to know the petiton. I will give you three examples:

1) The petition is for a woman whom you wish would leave your man alone. She is sprouting wings and flying away. Good job.

2) The petition is for a woman you love and want to marry. She is sprouting wings and flyig away. Not good at all.

3) The petition is for your socially awkward daughter, to improve her charisma in school. She is sprouting wings and flying. Great work, and she may achieve more personal power soon; but take care that she doesn't fly too high and get burned.

See --? That's why we do not interpret candle burns for folks at this forum. Get a copy of my book on candle magic and -- if you want to speed up your learning, take photos of the candle as it burns or after, and pay a reader for a ten-minute reading on it. You'll learn a lot.

Good luck

Thank you for the response.
I changed my birth name when I was 12. I’ve been using my preferred name in the last few years. Is it still the best to use birth name instead? Also, my target doesn’t know my birth name.
Does the power weaken if my mom finds out I’m lighting candles?

loveremains,

Your other person knowing does not matter. I know people who have used nicknames or changed names and are successful. Example people get adopted and names change. But there is also power in your name so its up to you, what do you feel best with? Since you prefer a name it seems it would be more positive in the work to use that name. People knowing or seeing work ( outside of mojos ) does not weaken the work. LM has a church on the property where candles are lit and you can see them. If this was an issue they would be burned in secret. Now keeping it a secret to not get negative energy or to get accused of something is completely ok.

Dear Miss Cat,
I remember you mentioning an astrology book that you were writing for graduates of your course only. I was wondering if it was available. If not, I think that would be a great book for the future. I have really enjoyed the books that Lucky Mojo has published.
Sincerely,

Hi, Nina --

I am indeed working on such a book, but it will probably be made available to the public when i am done. I have about 1/3 of it written, but i have put it aside to work on a couple of other books ahead of it. I know that divination books bever sell as well as spell books, so i try to kinda pace myself and vary the publications that i and others produce.

I haven't forgotten it, though -- far from it.

Thanks for asking.

Hello All!

I have a very hard time reading for myself. I have been reading Tarot, Lenormand, and pendulum(least reliable for me) and cannot find a system that I can perform on my own situations. I have ordered a bone set with books and it should be here soon.

My question is, have you had any luck finding a specific system that works better for reading for yourself? I understand that every person will have a different system that works for them but I just would like to know that there is hope of finding a system that works for reading for ones self. I can read for others, no problem.
I'm a Pisces and thought for sure scrying would be the ticket...not much luck there either. I can't seem to get a picture to completely form when looking at the stone. It's like seeing a moving mess of underdeveloped thoughts.

I have a hard time doing readings on myself as well. This is typical for a lot of readers NOT all. If I need an answer or have a question that is a yes or no answer , I will use my pendulum . Everyone is different and somethings may work for others and some won’t.
Good luck.

I find that the type of tool used makes reading for myself difficult or easy. I prefer the I Ching or Astrology when reading for myself on anything beyond a yes or no question, or when not consulting myself, but rather trying to see my future.

There is a reason for this. Those of you who have read my book "Throwing the Bones" may recall that i break sortilege divinations into mathematical groups -- how many possible answers there can be. When reading for myself, i prefer a divinatory system in which the number of outcomes is too large for me to have memorized -- because even with 78 tarot cards, i can fake myself out.

The 256 I Ching lines are more than i have memorized, and Astrology is even more multifarious in its patterns, and so it gives responses that i cannot second guess.

On Reading For Oneself

I gave up divination for prayer many years ago, but i was always better at reading for myself than for others, despite trying my hand a few times at that service. Unlike a number of others (some who were my instructors) who told me that, try though they might, they could not read for themselves, i usually preferred readings i did for myself to those provided by other people, amateur or professional. I wasn't too worried about timing or performance; the ritual state of mind, as i referred to it, was of primary importance, and i usually also delved far more deeply into a study of the system and device itself than they had once the basics were absorbed.

It probably helps that i have always loved studying divination systems and games, but i think one's philosophic attitude and disposition in interpretation may go some distance toward the success in this process. Mechanisms and rites are useful in taking the biased mind out of the equation. Concealment of resultant lots or divinatory valence (what hexagram or card is what in what spot) and designation of their meaning in advance by practice for any situation) help preclude the wily self-deceiver from twisting the divinatory tool toward desired results. And a facility with gaming postures, role-play, and let's pretend games of children, quite alike to or the equivalent of trance, can make the interpretation easier.

All the same, i have found that simple and direct inquiries with flat Yes/No outcome choices are generally easiest to interpret, and especially for oneself. If the situation is fraught, then i might expand this to a set of components or pieces with an odd number (2 of 3, or 3 of 5) to more resolutely address a question about a serious relationship, financially tricky career choice, or difficult lifestyle adjustment.

It may be reassuring to think that, with but a little practice, one might turn such a personal limitation of skill around and overcome it. I know that if i really want to i can treat another to the type of reading that i provide for myself, with them in my place; and yet too often they're expecting something more dazzling or performance-oriented than investigative and bookish. In all my interviews with diviners, sensitives, mystics, and magicians, i have witnessed the vast preponderance of those with any skill at all fell into only one of these camps or the other (able to read for themselves but not others; able to read for others but not themselves), and did not try too long to bridge the gap.

Hi everyone.

I've been burning a come to me glass encased candle for a few days now that started out wonderfully and then went awful in a hurry, throwing out black sooty smoke and has badly sooted up the top half of the glass.

I'm aware of the reasons why and what has happened with this person for these signs to show.

What I am wondering is if you would finish that candle off, let it burn itself out then work on fixing the other issues before trying again. Or end this one early and get to fixing things?

I think I will let it finish - no harm in continuing to send that energy out there but I was curious what others would do in this situation?

Hello Graveyardhag,

I think if this were me, I would let this candle finish burning, then burn a Road Opener candle, then try another Come to Me candle. Just to clear things out first, and then try again.

Take care.

Graveyardhag,

I would let the candle completely burn out on its own, then read it for the signs left in the glass a swell. You read the signs as it burns and when its done to give an over all. The candle could suddenly turn clear which would indicate obsticles but you will over come them with work and effort. Wax left can leave symbols in the glass detailing the issue needed to be addressed. Road Opener, block buster are both great to open ways, van van, if the person is mad at you add a reconciliation candle as well.

Thanks JayDee. I'd say it will be completely done in a few hours there's maybe half a cm left of wax in the bottom. That soot is creeping further and further down the glass though. Zero wax on the sides however in that sense its a very clean burn.

I honestly probably should have left this one for a few weeks and did others first but I got impatient. That will teach me hey.

Graveyardhag ,
Do you own cats book on art of candle burning? great resource! Also make sure the petition is clear and concise and use scripture in your prayer to assist. Seems it may be a angry person or relationship issue, I would suggest Psalms 23 and 32 together for reconciliation and heal past hurt. I think its great you burned the candle you learned a lesson on signs and intuition. While you work a candle also consider all the work you can do with it to support the work such as a reconciliation candle with a honey jar to sweeten someone. The 7 day candle backs up the work while the jar sweetens them.

The book is on my wishlist :) Along with all the other books lol.
It's a big stupid situation involving someone else having crossed myself and him (yes I've had a reading, yes with an AIRR reader lol) and pushing him onto someone else just to make sure I wouldn't be happy. I've already been advised she isn't going to stop trying anytime soon so I believe that black jar indicates she's definitely doing what she can to stop it.
Honey jar is done, already seeing positive signs with that which is great.
The come to me candle is done now, just the tiniest bit of wax residue left, not even enough to scrape out and bury. But black 3 quarters of the way down.... won't be coming any time soon lol but I knew that already.

I've ordered an uncrossing candle with MISC to back up my own uncrossing work, and am working on protection work etc
so current plan, keep working the honey jar, get rid of the crap she's thrown at me, protect, reverse, blockbuster, get rid of the new woman, and THEN work on bringing him back.

Graveyardhag ,

Do you wear, or have you made a fiery wall of protection mojo? They are great to get rid of curses and keep them off. Wearing a cross, dressed with fiery wall oil, I wear a Hand of Miriam (or hasma depending on what you call it) dressed with the oil as well. Placing two photos of you with a piece of hair between them inside two round mirrors, have the reflection part shine outward, dress with reversing oil and wrap in white linen this is good to reflect anything negative sent at you. I dress the oil on my feed limbs, chest back and head. You can buy an oil and mix it with a body wash to use nightly to cleanse as well, this is good for daily use when not taking a spiritual bath. Rue is a great herb to uncross, to break a jinx and to cleanse love jinxes.

I had a LM hummingbird candle buring since Friday. Then on Monday 8th Oct- night A moth flew in and died inside the candle. I removed it.

However, this has left me wondering. On that morning 8th Oct, was the 1st I had used the “fire wall of protection” oil and this just seemed a bit simbolic of anyone trying to hurt me or my work will burn to ash!!!

Any thought?

Also, a continious run of candles at home...is this recommend?

Freestanding candle for protection, I had used both protection and firey wall of protection oil from LM to dress the candle. This candles is now curling in the back...does this have any meaning?

JayDee,
Currently wearing a seal of Solomon pendant, dressed with a plain protection oil. I have a hasma pendant in my car, and a tea light holder in the shape of one as well. My rootoworker has given me a big protection thing to do as well just waiting for everything to arrive.

I'm getting a second reading before ordering any more products and I need to keep the order small or I'll end up with over $100 in postage costs, and our exchange rate is pretty bad. It's all a bit steep this time of year.
Fiery Wall of protection is a definite yes however! Getting herbs into Australia can be hit and miss too so I wasn't sure if I wanted to try buy the herbs themselves or go for something that is better able to make it through customs.
I have to make what I end up purchasing count so I am researching and really thinking before placing any orders

CuriousIndigo ,

Most people simply recycle the whole thing. Some melt the wax, wipe it out and dispose of the items in the traditional manner. I would recycle it, its what I do.

Ok, Thank you. I thought I would have to somehow “dig” them out to properly dispose them, burry them in back yard for example. I don’t want to feel like I “trashed” them as if they’re part of bad work cuz they’re not. I hope I make sense.

Oh by the way, what I mean by recycle was in the recycle bin, not by reusing the glass let’s say to put another candle for the same purpose.

CuriousIndigo,

I understood your question, some people do carve it out and and dispose of it, others do not, I am one who does not. It is more respectful to God and his creation to recycle the glass and keep the earth clean. I think you are fine with recycling the product.

My uncrossing candle has a confetti star stuck to the glass near the top. I can't find any information on what stuck confetti shapes mean so any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks!

littlewing,

We do not interpret candle wax or smoke signs here on the forum, but if you want a reader to do so for a modest fee, you can contact an AIRR member who does this or pay Rev. Ernest at MISC for the service. Whoever does the reading for you will want a photo (or two or three) and a brief description of what life condition the candle was burned for, how it was dressed (with what oils, herbs, powders, etc.), what prayers or petitions were associated with it, and whom it was intended to affect.

My second candle on a three night love work.

First, due to my traditions I don't always use a candle as my fuel source so I'm more practiced at reading flame and smoke than wax.

Second, I do non coercive love work: opening for reconciliation, a first kiss, they can take it from there on their own. It's not that I'm against some coercion, I just find love lasts longer and is healthier without it. I use some coercion for break ups and all.

Third, in all my years, this is the first time it's for my benefit.

The flame was beautiful. It popped when lit. It was strong all the way through, no smoke (this is common when I do love work even if I use wood as fuel, it's an area I'm gifted in, not that it's ever benefitted me lol. It danced, beautiful colour and halo. At 4 hours, 46 min, the droppings from the wick lit and stood up making two wicks with red embers in one beautiful spiralling flame. That flame melted what was a lovely orchid pattern (we're both women) into a crescent which shrank into nothing, no wax left at all and the second wick went out, instantly re lit, then both wicks extinguished from a tall flame to a small white tendril of smoke at 5 hours, 8 min, meaning the twin lasted 23 min. Flame / smoke wise this is the best I've seen.

Wax wise (like I said less experience) there was tears down the honey jar, ending in nothing or small pools at the back. To the front right was two sets of tears pooling into a feather which lifted up from the plate. I expected tears as this night I was working on healing a past disappointment that had led to a relationship not starting, and I had come to understand it was cuz I never read her advancements as such. So this is like opening for a second chance. But I'm not used to drippings and such with no stub left. Like there is zero wax left on top. I guess it reminds be of a new moon since it went from orchid to crescent to nothing.

I think my insecurities in my own love life is why I'm not just trusting beautiful flame work? But I've not come across anything anywhere about no remain wax/stub.

Keezhig --

When setting a light on a honey or sugar jar with a metal lid, there is complete air circulation and it is quite common for the metal of the lid to heat in such a way that even the stub melts and runs.

This is unlike a candle holder, in which lack of air circulation in the holder may lead to a stub being left in the holder.

And that fact, by the way, las led to the old rhyming mnemonic about how lucky it is to burn a candle "to the socket" -- that is, to leave no wax remnant stub in the holder. You will find this in the old British-style spell-rhyme about candle divination. It comes in many variants, but this is the version i learned as a child:

A Bayberry candle that burns to the socket
Brings luck to the home and gold to the pocket

Despite its European cultural origins, this rhyme entered African American hoodoo folk magic long, long ago, and is often recited when lighting bayberry-scented money candles.
