Hi everyone

Hello Everyone,

I have been self studying hoodoo for a few months now so...I am super new at this. Although, I feel that I have had natural gifts since childhood. I feel that this has been a calling to my life for many reasons.

1) I have not cast any spells yet (things keep holding me back). I would like to reverse this curse that I feel has been placed on me a long time ago first. Gathering all of the appropriate supplies has been difficult.

2) I have read tarot cards and I have done some scrying with my crystal ball (which I supposes isn't completely related to hoodoo).

3) I am open to any advise more experienced members have to offer.

This website is wonderful and filled with so much information! Now I just have to find a way to stay focused on one thing at a time!

QueenRa --

Hello and welcome to the Lucky Mojo Forum.

1) We made and sell spiritual supplies and sell them by mail order. There are several thousand products in our catalogue. See our catalogue here (with pictures and descriptions):

http://luckymojo.com/catalogue.html

And see our complete inventory, with no pictures and no text, here:

http://luckymojo.com/inventory.html

2) I don't know where you got the idea that reading tarot or a crystal ball is not related to hoodoo, but there have been practitioners who have done both for at least 100 years. Playing cards are more common than tarot -- but tarot cards are a form of playing cards. Crystal balls and also figured stone balls have been used by many a famed rootworker of the past and they are still popular with today's workers as well.

3) My advice is to start with my free online book, "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice":

Good luck.

Hey, QueenRa --

While you are researching the history of hoodoo, let me show you this little video clip to get the false idea that "crystal balls are not part of hoodoo" out of your head. It is a brief overview of of the life of the famous black conjure worker Dr. Jim Jordan of North Carolina, and as you watch it, you will see his actual crystal ball, which the family has preserved. His use of it is described in the book, "The Fabled Dr. Jim Jordan" by F. Roy Johnson.
