Hello again, I just bought a Santa Clara candle.
On the back of it, it petitions her to ask Jesus to clear my sins.
Does anyone have any idea if this is what Santa Clara is typically called upon for?
Peace,
Chaitanya

Re: Santa Clara candle question
You bought that candle from some other manufacturer, and i know it, because i wrote and typset the back of our Lucky Mojo Saint Clare candle (note that our candle is labelled in ENGLISH and is not called a Santa Clara candle ) and it does NOT contain any lines about using a candle to "clear your sins," so you need to get off this free board and go find the free board run by that other manufacturer.
Oh ... they don't have a free board for you?
Tough, ain't it.
But seriously, don't come round here trying to beg me for my time writing to you about candles that i did not make, or you will get banned. This is your first warning.
I don't make exceptions.
Yes, this is TOUGH LOVE.

Saint Clara or Saint Clare? ?
Lovely people,
Does any one know if Saint Clara and Saint Clare of Assisi are one and the same?
I came in from busy day and found a very old 9 day prayer/novena for St. Clare of Assisi, I had jotted down (at aged 10) from an old aunt of mine. I had stored this with healing workings/prayers files ... on top of a wardrobe. Nothing else was on the floor but this old written prayer, also not anywhere near the cupboard, it had landed near to my alter some 10 feet away. So I feel I should do some work with her at some point... but was wondering in curiosity ....
a) Is St. Clare of Assisi same as St Clara?
b) Does anyone know more about colours for candles, what this Saint likes etc?
Any info would be most gratefully received? Thank you

Re: Saint Clare Novena Candle Questions and Answers
a) Yes. See the above post. just like the name Juan is John in English, so is Clara spelled Clare or Claire in English. Her actual name was neither Clara nor Clare. It was Chiara (an Italian form of the name Clare.) Her full name was Chiara Offreduccio and she lived from July 16, 1194 to August 11, 1253, in Italy.
b) Yes, i know a lot more. I manufacture Saint Clare candles, oil, sachet powders, incense, and bath crystals. If you are in the market for Santa Clara / Saint Clare spiritual supplies, you have come to the right shop. Please see the "Catholic" portions of our online catalogue pages, under the letter "C." The candle (our most popular Saint Clare product) is shown above, with a clickable link for purchase.
As for offerings; she was a supporter of the poor, and in token of this, she and her sisters refused to wear shoes or to eat meat. The religious order she founded is known as the Poor Clares. A monetary donation to any charity to help the poor, especially any organization that bears her name, would be a suitable form of offering in thanks for her intercession.
Good luck!
