Rose Petals and Rose Buds Questions and Answers

Post by kmew1315 » Wed Dec 09, 2009 8:00 pm

I have a question. The page on honey jars says that you can add rose petals to it for a love jar. I'm assuming the best way to get them would be from buying or finding a rose and taking the petals off -- or does Lucky Mojo sell rose petals?).

If I pick a rose, do I have to do something special with the rest of the rose or since it wasn't actually part of the spell is it ok to just dispose of it any old way?

Also how much would the rose petals actually help? I already have quite a few different oils, hairs from both of us, pictures, etc. I know the hairs are the most important thing but I REALLY want this to be effective and it's my first time with anything of this sort. Thanks for any help.

Rose petals are worked in spells to bring good luck in love affairs....read more here on LM https://herb-magic.com/rose-petals.html

I have dried rose petals in various containers around my home as they carry a nice scent. Consequently, it is o.k. to dispose of the rest of the rose yet I keep all rose petals...

LM sells rose petals and rose buds.

HER-ROS-BUDS Herb Rose Buds $3.50

HER-ROS-PTLS Herb Rose Petals $3.50

If you want to prepare your own, roses are very easy to dry and the petals will last a long time if kept in a crush-proof container out of direct light. To dry a fresh rose, tie a string to the stem and hang it upside down in a warm, dry place. In 3-5 days the rose should be slightly shriveled but still intact. You can then remove the petals or keep the flower intact and just pull off petals as you need them. Since you will only need a few petals to make your honey jar, why not try making some magickally charged potpourri to complement your spellwork?

Dried roses have a lovely smell and make a great love-drawing potpourri. Gently mix rose petals and whole blooms with cloves, cinnamon sticks, orris powder, well-dried orange peel and some love-drawing sachet powders or oils and display in a pretty bowl, ideally in a location where you will be with your intended love -- don't forget to pray over your ingredients while preparing to align them with your intent. In addition to the few ingredients I listed above there are numerous others that could be used to make this potpourri as well -- look on the LM Co. store website to see an alphabetical list of traditional hoodoo roots/herbs/floral curios and their uses.

Good luck with your work!

The roses I grow (don't know the kind) get really large at the end of their bloom and you can lightly pull off all of the petals at once. I put them in paper bags, which I shake a couple times a day until they are dry. When you have half a dozen drying at once, the scent is amazing!

We grow 350 different varieties of roses on our property. Some are wild roses, some are domestic. About half of the varieties we grow have petals that are pink, purple, or red, and those are the ones we collect and use in our Rose Petal curio packs, love oils, love bath mixtures, and luck bath mixtures. If you subscribe to the Lucky Mojo Newsletter, or read the newsletter archives, you'll see that i wrote an article on our rose petal products in July 2010. The two varieties shown there were not wild ones, but we do have wild roses here on the property, and we do collect their petals.

Hi again ALL!

Well, I am going to make a doll baby of my love, Friday, and I
was at my mothers house today and noticed her rose bush. I saw
1 small bud and immediately got the idea to use it for his heart
and anoint it with some of MB (Moon time for me, really want
to work at this time and with my MB).

I don't know whether or not to make it out of a worn unwashed sock of his I have
or a worn t-shirt of his (both of us has worn it, unwashed of course),
So I guess my question is...Since I want to do this work THIS week Friday
while I'm on my Moon time and I JUST picked the rose bud and hour ago,
Do you all think I can go ahead and add the rose bud to the doll baby
even though it won't be fully dry? Will the drying process while in the
doll baby affect his real heart?

Thank you in advance!

Hi ConjuringLove,

The drying process will not affect his real heart, however I would be concerned that the dampness in that bud might create mold if it dries inside the doll. It's a possibility. I would allow it to dry completely before using it.

Good luck.
