New Thought teaches that a change in consciousness can change the world. But what exactly is consciousness, and how does it bring these changes from thought into reality? The mystery of consciousness -- whether or not the quality of awareness arises from the material brain or is a non-material "spark" separate from, but acting in cooperation with, the brain -- has been investigated by every branch of human inquiry. Yet we're no closer to a definitive answer today than we were three thousand years ago. This episode continues a series of discussions concerning consciousness. We'll look at Buddhist ideas, quantum models of consciousness, the materialist or functionalist model, and much more.

The crystal of the week is Blue Kyanite.
Reverend Jon Saint Germain, pastor of Divine Harmony Spiritual Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, is the Voice of the Crystal Silence League and author of "Crystal Magic: Divination, Healing, and Spellcraft with Gems and Minerals," providing Spiritual guidance on the practical use of crystals and crystal balls in the development of mental concentration, mind power, silent influence over others, divination and scrying of the future, and telepathic contact with people and spirits. He has also written "Lithomancy: Divination and Spellcraft with Stones, Crystals and Coins," which teaches numerous methods of fortune-telling with gemstones, runes, and other objects.
