Pardon me if this has been asked, I don’t believe I saw it when I searched this thread. Can anybody tell me how big the empty painted bottles from Lucky Mojo are? Or rather, how much fluid volume it will hold (in fluid ounces or milliliters)? Thanks in advance.

crazycatlady --

They hold roughly one fluid ounce. Thanks to our own Eileen "Ms. Science" Edler for that answer.

Hi nice to meet all of you I learned so much on this forum.

Im Nancy I wanted to know about a bottle spell

I want to do a dominating and controlling type spell to work so im thinking about adding target photo, my urine, rum and some herbs for love/dominating.

But my concern is can I add poppy seeds because this dude is set in his ways about being with me and im trying to break him out of that he is a stubborn virgo.

Also im going to add a lil bit of hypnotic to the jar to get him really drunk in love. Do you think is a good idea?

imthefairestofthemall --

Poppy seeds are confusing (they contain opium) and it is my experience that confusing someone who is stubborn is not always the best way to handle a situation. I prefer Deer's Tongue, for eloquent and persuasive speech.

Adding "a hypnotic" (by which i assume you mean a hypnotic medication like Ambien, Seconal, or Halcion) to a bottle spell would do more than make him "drunk on love" -- it would be quite a sedative, as well. Do i think that is a good idea? Not for me, because i like my men awake and alert. :-) But some people do enjoy having a partner who is nodding off. Different strokes for different folks!

imthefairestofthemall,

I would opt for herbs and oils , or waters, that are used for that rather than alcohol. Some ideas that would work well in a container spell for this cause is damiana herb to make him in love, catnip, makes a man crazy like a cat is for catnip, rose petals for love, coriander seeds for passion, juniper berries for passion and romance. You. can add honey to a jar as it is sweet and will sweeten him to you, you can also add rose water which is a sweet flower sent for love. To influence and dominate you can add calamus root or licorice root to influence his thoughts. Love oils I would suggest is come to me to bring him to you, follow me boy, goes great with making a man follow you like a puppy, Fire love to increase passion in him. You can dress red candles with these oils and burn them on top of the jar you create.

I understand that with a break up spell bottle you need to shake it and yell at it a bit until they are broken up.. But what about a Come to me bottle? I have one and I’m not quite sure what to do with it. Should I put both our photos in it together or just his? Do I keep talking to it daily after it’s sealed, or is once enough and then bury it?

Hello Beachykeen,

You can add both of your photos, or one of you together if you have it.

Burn candles on it (presuming the jar has a metal lid) and speak to it as you would to him. I like to work candles on a jar like this until they burn clean (no wax residue), which is my sign that Spirit has heard my petition, then deploy the jar.

You can continue working it as long as you like, but I do suggest you put a reasonable time limit on this kind of spell. If he has not come to you in love and desire by a certain date, you can consider that your answer. Please don't pine away over one guy for years!

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Where the Southern Cross the Yellow Dog: The Conjure Doctors of Virginia

Tier 2 DECEMBER 14th, 2021

Hello, everyone, and thank you for supporting "It's All Ephemera"!

This week in "Where the Southern Cross the Yellow Dog," i present a 19th century black educator's perspective on African-American folk magic and folk medicine.

1) "THE CONJURE DOCTORS OF VIRGINIA" by Rev. Daniel Webster Davis, from the Southern Workman and Hampton School Record, Vol. 27, December 1898.

[PATRONS GET THE SECRET URL IN EMAIL ONE YEAR BEFORE IT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC]

This illustrated page brings us a memoir written in 1898 by Rev. Daniel Webster Davis, in which he describes the Virginia conjure doctors of his youth. Born into slavery during the Civil War, Davis became a public school teacher, a poet, and a teacher to other black educators. An upwardly aspirational man who played an active role in the progressive politics of the 19th century, he also documented a recipe for a buried bottle spell that is virtually identical to those still found in 21st century hoodoo.

Thanks to my wonderfully supportive Patrons -- you have made this web page possible.

The Southern Spirits web site includes material about hoodoo gathered from old books, magazine articles, newspapers, and fragments extracted from novels and short stories. It is heavily annotated with interpretive and comparative notes, especially distinguishing between narratives told *by* practitioners and narratives *about* them. If you are not yet familiar with the public portion of the site, check it out!

I know Honey Jar is considered a bottle spell, but can I combine Honey Jar and a bottle spell together?

By this, I mean instead of putting the name paper in a jar full of honey, I put some honey and sugar inside a labeled LM bottle spell kit, along with the name paper and herbs etc. I treat it as a bottle spell and occasionally shake it, and the only time I eat the honey would be before I put the honey inside the bottle.

mastersirius678 --

Yes, that would be a usable variation, absolutely. I personally prefer contact magic when i work with sugar or honey, so i like to feed the sweetener to the person it is intended to affect. I feel that contact magic is more personal.

Thank you miss cat

I could use the contact magic as added power, I was thinking of making a universal bottle spell that affects groups of people, so it would only be plausible to feed a select few that I feel a needed push is needed

This reminds me of the Frizzly Rooster, a rootdoctor in Mules and Men by Zora Neale Hurston, who writes:

"There was one jar in the kitchen filled with honey and sugar. All the 'sweet" works were set in this jar. That is, the names and the thing desired were written on paper and thrust into this jar to stay. Already four or five hundred slips of paper had accumulated in the jar. There was another jar called the "break up" jar. It held vinegar with some unsweetened coffee added. Papers were left in this one also."

Sounds like a great plan, Master Sirius!

Miss cat, Deacon millett, or anyone

Yes, I think it would a great idea too, I was reading about the bottle spell page, and I thought maybe adding some Florida Water and Hoyt's Cologne into my said love bottle that includes sugar and honey, for the extra added luck and blessings through my meeting with ladies.

But my concern right now is the physical mundane level of things.

Of course I won't be eating the honey or sugar already inside the bottle, but what would happen if sugar and honey are mixed with Florida Water and Hoyt's Cologne? They are both high in alcohol with essential oils.

Or maybe I should seek out other ways to bring the blessings and luck to this bottle.

mastersirius678,

I think the answer is going to depend on the proportions.

Honey is stable and does not decay, but both sugar and honey, if diluted with water, will ferment.

Florida Water and Hoyt's Cologne are both alcoholic, with the addition of herbal essential oils. but are diluted with some water.

Will your mixture ferment, or will it be stable?

Proportions will provide the answer -- and this is your chemistry experiment.

Miss Cat

I think to be safe, I probably will just buy some blessings herbs for the bottle. I will probably run that chemistry experiment outside in a separate container.

Just got the bottle spell. Still have one thing that is unclear to me

What does it mean to stuck a candle in the neck of the bottle? Does it mean putting a candle inside the bottle and let it burn down like a mini vigil glass candle?

mastersirius678 ,

Yes burn the candle in the mouth of the bottle, you can then seal it with the cap.

Hand-painted bottle spells at the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Each one has a "window"-- look inside and find one of our hoodoo product labels or a Catholic saint. Filled with petitions, herbs, minerals, or personal concerns, and scented with conjure oil, they are pretty enough to keep on an altar for long-term work.

I did my first Break Up Spell Bottle and am still chanting to it and shaking it. I have decided when I am done with it, I would like to bury the bottle and its contents in a graveyard. However, I also environmentally conscience.

My question is: If I were to open the spell bottle, pour the contents into a biodegradable pot for plants, fill that pot with dirt, bury the biodegradable pot in the cemetary, and perhaps urinate on it before I depart. Would this change anything? Am I ruining the spell by moving the contents and not keeping them in bottle?

Also, ill likely recycle the bottle after.

Now, all the ingredients of the spell are in the graveyard, the bottle is recycled, and the earth's ecosystem is not effected.

Are there any issues with this plan?

Moon Lady ,

Removing it from the bottle is removing the spell, it is a negative sign to the work. You want the content to stay in the container not out, unless you no longer wish the outcome you originally intended. I personally would keep the jar at home in a dark place and work it until they break up, then dispose of it the method you mentioned above. The difference is the results have been met.

Once the Break Up Spell Bottle is created and put together, do you have further suggestions on what to do with it?

1) Is there
daily intention setting,
chanting of my intent,
shaking it?

2) Is there anything else one can do with these bottles to strengthen the spell?

Hi Moon Lady,

You could deploy the break up bottle spell by planting/burying it where the targets of the spell will walk over it and interact with it.

I read that you wanted to bury it in a graveyard. Is that with a specific grave/spirit that you have hired to help you in your break up spell?

After making the bottle, you could work the bottle for 9 or 13 days, shaking it every day while praying over it or chanting over it, describing what you want to happen to the target(s).

Once the time period you have chosen is finished, you could then take it to the graveyard or bury it where the targets will walk over/past it.

You could also do candle work in addition to the bottle spell, and the deployment of powders where the targets will walk over or interact with them.

You can add things to the bottle that can help the spell. As I don't know what you put in the spell, if you don't have personal concerns of your target (ie hair nails, blood, spit etc..) that is always something good to add that can make your work effective.

Otherwise, you can continue to add cursing herbs and elements to drive the break up, confusion and inflammatory confusion, etc..
.
Peace and Blessings

Hi Brother Christopher,

Thank you for your detailed reply.

1) The grave yard I considering burying it it, is a family grave yard. I was going to ask for my ancestors help. I'm not overly sure how that would work out.

2) You have stated I can add ingredients to bottle. I thought that once the cap the went on, I could not open it or it would ruin the spell and intention. Are you saying that once the spell has been cast, the candle has been burned down, and the bottle has been capped, it is okay to uncap the bottle and add more ingredients to the bottle, then recap and continue?

Thank you for you words and advice.

Asking your ancestors for help, from their grave is fine. Especially if it was ancestors that knew you and loved you as they would definitely be willing to help you in a difficult situation. It is always a good thing to pay those spirits for you help. Even if they are your ancestors, a little tit for tat is always appreciated. You should bury the bottle in the right hand of the ancestor, that is, as if they were laying down where their right hand would be, just dig a hole that you can bury the bottle in, and cover it again with the patch of grass from on top, in order to conceal your work.

Opening the bottle is only bad if you empty the contents out of the bottle, as that indicates that you are undoing/ending the spell. You can open a bottle to add more things to it as situations change, of if managed to get certain things, like personal effects, or specific herbs or other materials that the bottle didn't have before to direct how you want the break up bottle to work. Obviously once it's deployed (that is buried with your ancestors) you shouldn't dig it up and open it and add more. It is done then and should be left alone.

Thank you for you words and advice.
Always happy to help

Peace and Blessings,
Br. Christopher

Hello,

Excuse me because of this silly question, but just a newbie.

Which is the best material to use in a bottle spell that is going to be thrown at a river as a final ending?.
Such as for example, sending away a bad thing or person?

I have done several jar spells for different purposes but normally, have buried them. In these cases, have used always glass, it's my favourite material for container spells.

Is glass better than plastic speaking of deployment at rivers or water streams?. Or can glass be more easily broken in a river because of the course of water?.
Is that a thing to consider regarding container spells of this purpose?. Or shouldn't I be worried about the conditions of the container bottle as I'm sending far away a thing?.

Thank you much for your help.
Thank you Saint Jude, glorious Apostle, miracle performer, because you took me back to Jesus.

Angel Eyes ,

I use glass jars for my work.

Yes it may break its always a risk, plastic easily floats. You should not worry about the condition of the container after it is deployed. Once you toss it in, let the work go with full faith the person is sent away. I also would make sure the water area used to deploy is deep enough that tossing it in would result in it landing in water and not hitting a rock or something at the bottom.

Hello Jaydee,

That was exactly what I thought, the possibility of the plastic floating on the water. But as you said, I shouldn't worry about what it goes once I deploy the spell. Glass is my favourite regarding bottle spells.

One very interesting thing about performing magic is the exploring the area. Now I have to go to search for the adequate river to deploy the spell, because my location is surrounded by water, rivers, streams, etc, and they are different,

Thanks so much for your help.

Have a nice day.
Thank you Saint Jude, glorious Apostle, miracle performer, because you took me back to Jesus.

Angel Eyes,

Select one that flows away from you, this way they leave and never flow back towards you again, to do this make sure you are up stream from where you toss it in.

Re: Bottle, Box, and Container Spells Questions and Answers

Larimar Pearl ,

I moved your post from the topic on honey jars to bottle, box, and container spells, as your question is more aligned with this thread. On this thread, you will find 13 pages of information regarding container spells. Lucky Mojo produced the Black Folder which has a bottle spell, and also Bottle Up and Go, container spell book.

For the work, if the purpose is to cut through emotional blockage and to clear the path, I suggest using Cut and Clear which does exactly that, along with Road Opener to open the paths.

For the items in the jar, I would list each item and a short narrative on why they are included, how do these items help with clearing emotional blockage? If it does not then I would leave it out, if it does then include it.

We do not discuss products purchased from other providers, we are unable to speak on the quality or the use of them, it is best to ask those providers.
