Hello! I am pleased to offer my introduction on this platform. I suppose it will be merged with the 2023 Public Forum Introductions.

I am BalkanDiviner. Actually, I've lurked quite a bit around here but this is the first time I am actually engaging adequately. I am from Romania, precisely from the region of Dobrojea, near the Black Sea, which is in fact included in the Balkan Region, hence my name alluding to this zone. I've researched various magical traditions including Hoodoo ever since I've been in middle school, but the first step I've taken from a magical standpoint was learning to practice cartomancy with a basic, affordable and easy deck of playing cards poker version. Afterwards, pendulum came in handy. Recently, my tarot reading skills have also increased by listening to the radio show. I actually give a big thumbs up to Miss Cat as her manner of reading based on symbolism greatly resonated with me.

I am interested in Hoodoo as I find similarities between this practice and the gypsy tradition practiced in my home country. I am neither a black man, nor a Romani, but I approach each tradition with respect and veneration. I identify with my religious upbringing in the Orthodox Faith, but I enjoy studying different faiths as well. However, I've turned to more eclectic ways as I reject doma in any shape or form.
