Hello gang! I have looked all through this thread and can't find much help for my situation ... so here goes: I need input as to the meaning of finding large, dead, black widow spiders at my front and back doors.

I am living in an old house ( over 100 years old ) in a small town. I have never seen a black widow in or around this house; other types of spiders once in a while, but for the most part I don't have a lot of insects or spiders in the house, attic, basement etc. Last month, I went out onto my front porch and was sweeping when I noticed a black "clump" near my door mat. It was a huge black widow, but it was dead. I was a little freaked out but got rid of her and went over the area with a spritz I made containing Holy Water, Florida Water, Chinese Wash, and some Uncrossing crystals ( just in case ).

Over the next few weeks, I saw no spiders, much less widows - I even went out of town visiting relatives for a while. When I got back in town, my husband called the electrician to look at our breaker box, which is outside by our back door ( really a small side porch ). I was talking with the fellow when I looked down and saw a big black spider in a web on the step right by us. I gasped, "Is that a widow?" and the electrician took his screwdriver and swirled it around the spider and flung it down on the next step. "Yep, but it's dead" came his reply, then even though it wasn't moving, he squished it with his boot - too make sure. At this point, red flags are going off for me. When he left, I sprayed the step with my spritz and prayed for protection.

I have now had 2 very large black widows at both my main doors - very large  dead spiders. If it had just been the one time, I could tell myself - no big deal. Having it happen at both doors with highly visible 1-2 inch long spiders ( not including leg span ) makes me think someone is trying to tell me something. Is it an attack, or does it mean we are protected and the attackers are killed before they hurt us?

Thanks for the reply Miss Aida. Actually, for the first time in years, we are starting to earn a bit more money. The Markets are up and more folks seem to be starting businesses - which is good news for us ( we work with start ups ). I read the links you sent. Are you thinking our finances are under attack because the spiders were dead?

I have Wealthy Way powder and Money Stay with me oil, if I remember correctly. Guess I should cleanse, protect, then draw money? Is that what you were thinking?

hi guys
something strange happened at my house this morning i hope if someone could give me any advice please
so yesterday i brew up some herbs to make a floor wash to attract money, love, and happiness to my house and my life i had the intention that i would do it for 7 days yesterday was the first day, anyways i woke up this morning and found 3 or 4 big flies flying outside in the living room all windows and doors were closed so there is absolutely no way for them to come in i'm sure.
i'm positive this is not a coincidence and i also decided not to continue doing the floor wash....Can anyone please give me advice ?

Hello, Nina,

I was always taught the flies are messengers.

But, they mean different things to different people.

Are you positive that they weren't already in your house and the cleansing just dispersed their hiding places?

Take care

Hi Miss Aida
i'm positive they weren't in the house because i've been deep cleaning the house everyday last week and the house was clean also these type of flies they are not the type that hide i still have no idea how they came in. But i think the floor wash worked because 2 days after i got unexpected cash and some free stuff.
you said that flies are messengers i had no idea, since i'm scared to death of all types of insects i felt it must mean something negative so i freaked out. however, in my culture for some reason they believe when a big fly comes in the house it's a spirit of a dead relative but i honestly do not share the same belief...

Hello, Nina ,

One come into the house last year and it was in love with me. It was always on my shoulder when I walked around the house.

I would put food in a dish and it would fly to the food. When it was done, it went back to my shoulder. At night, I put it n the bathroom sink and closed the door.

I was so sad when it died. Their life span is about a week and it was about 5 days that this fly was with me. I got attached to it..

It was like a tiny little bird! LOL

Hi

I was wondering if lady beetles and dragonflies mean anything?

I buried a honey jar and started a new one on someone (same person for both jars, I just only had a bit of unwashed laundry in the original one and not much else in it, I have semen and more herbs/spices and a rose quartz crystal in this one so was hoping it would be stronger). So I buried the honey jar Friday night in one of my garden beds and while I was pulling out weeds the next afternoon I had a lot of lady beetles land on me when I was at that back garden bed that I had buried the honey jar in.

I also did a quick sugar bowl spell last night and when I went out of the front to bury the remains of it I had two dragonflies fly into my house as I was closing the front door when I came back in.

I'm not sure if any of it means anything to do with the spells? I haven't seen lady beetles in months and can't even remember the last time I saw a dragonfly.

Hello BabydollBunnyXx,

Signs are personal to the people who witness them because they vary by culture and are not universal, but if this was me, I'd take the appearance of the insects as a positive thing. Kind of like nature blessing your work. Hope that helps!

Hello BabydollBunnyXx --

Ladybugs, also known as Ladybird Beetles, are a sign of spring. They are valuable predators in the garden and keep away harmful insects. They are known as hard workers and have a special afinity for females.

Dragonflies are known for their fabulous mating flights over water and are a symbol of grace, artistry, and gentle sexuality.

Hi!

I’m not sure if I’m in the right thread for this question... but something strange happened during one of my spell castings tonight and I was wondering if anyone could weigh in...

This evening in preparations for a love spell I was about to cast, I went out and picked some flowers for my altar. They were very beautiful red and pink flowers. I placed them in a coffee can for safe keeping. When I picked one particular flower and dropped it in my can, I could hear a bee buzzing around in there. I shook the can a little bit and tried to release the bee. I couldn’t hear it anymore and assumed it had flown out. When I arrived home, I left the coffee can on my porch for a few hours with the lid off.... just in case the bee was still in there.

I anointed a red skull candle, prepped my altar, laid out the flowers, and was about to begin my verbal ritual when the bee came flying out of nowhere. It flew around my house, and my cat tried to catch it. So did I (so I could try to take it outside). The bee is now lost somewhere in my house. I’m not sure if it’s wounded, or where it ended up.

I do love bees a lot, so I feel bad that I may have been the death of this one. But also am amazed that it survived that long and actually made it into my spell casting.

Any ideas? Does this seem like a good or bad omen to anyone? Just curious what others think about this situation.

Thanks!

Ianoydb --

This is a bit of an unfortunate omen, i am sorry to say.

Solitary bees go to sleep in flowers and worker bees from hives will also spend the night holed up if they cannot get home. So, since you say that when you picked the flowers for your love spell it was "evening," the bee holed up for the night.

Bees symbolize work, sweetness, cheerful cooperation, productivity, and success.

Alas, a bee trapped in a home is doomed to die -- and like a bird trapped in a home, unless it is successfully released, it is a sign of death. In this case perhaps it symbolizes the death of love rather than a literal physical death, but it does not bode well for the outcome of a love spell.

I have moved your question and my reply to the section on insects as omens.

Good luck

Oh! Thank you for this insight!

Once I read your post, I immediately undug the remains from my backyard, baptized them in Florida water and “released” my person of interest from the spell by verbally doing so and throwing the remains over my left shoulder at a crossroads.

Do you have any other suggestions for how to undo the spell?

Thank you!

Hello Ianoydb,

You did it correctly so there's nothing left for you to do.

Good luck if you decide to re-do your spell.

Hello!!

I'm so glad i found this website!! I'm coming from New jersey!

I also wanted to ask anyone who knows if this a concern!

So I recently started in my journey in the craft and I have only done small things like sigils. Ever since I started I have noticed an unusually large amount of bugs around me. Little beetles, spiders, different types of flies, bugs I don't even know. They are focused in my room specifically. It's so bad that today alone I found a dead bug in a recently opened chip bag and again in a container of sea-salt.

Im starting to grow more and more concerned. One because It's gross and the other because bugs terrify me.

Is this a sign of some sort?

I'm going to activate a protection sigil on myself but if there are any suggestions to what I should do I am 100% open to it.

Thank you,
Cutiebunzz

When you say recently opened chip bag, how recently? Bugs are attracted to food after all.
Risen as in the phoenix.

Hi everyone

I burned a break up vigil candle. The one thing that I’m perplexed about is the real life moth trapped in the wax.

I’ve checked online the forums and haven’t seen anything about bugs being in it? What could this be an indication of ?

Thank you

Hello vibe77,

I moved your post to the correct topic on insects as omens. You can read through the posts here and learn more about what this might mean.

We do not perform divination on specific situations here on the forum, but if you want more detailed insight into what you experienced, you can get a reading on it by a member of AIRR:

Ugh. After three or four years of peace, the Argentine Crazy Ants are back.

Serious measures are required. Prayers for the Little Brown Ants of California. We support and uphold you! May you defeat the Angentine Crazy Ants, in the name of the Archangel Michael! Amen!
