Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Hi it's me Lovemoore
I've been trying to take up the Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course. It all started out by taking up Vigil Candle Services with Deacon Millett because at that stage I was looking for a Job but then the Candle Reports were always pointing to my true calling that is all in the way of ancestors so I went out there, tried it out, ended up treating many people with most of them being strangers and got great results with everyone I came across so I felt confident and ready for this Long Distance Course Of Miss Cat.
So sometime back, I had an email conversation with Deacon Millett to check how someone like myself would do when it comes to the Long Distance Course of Miss Cat and he mentioned that I would enjoy myself thoroughly and hopes that I could work with Miss Cat and so far I've purchased the recommended readings plus the bonuses on the side and I was familiar with everything. I tried the part that I was not familiar with when it came to the Recommended Readings and it was working with the Graveyard Dirt because it's part of the assignment and got amazing results but not without getting home from the Graveyard and feeling exhausted as if I was involved in a Comrades Marathon so when I spoke to Deacon Millett about it then he told me that it's like that when you work at the Graves.
I then purchased all the Required Purchases all at once because I could do so at that time and I was given an email survey to fill out then I needed to be friends with Miss Cat on Facebook so I could only follow or like those pages and I did. I've made more than 3 posts on the Forum, my favourite theme being those Jack Balls because I enjoy having my take on them and getting great results from my experiments. But when it came to the appointment dates that I was emailed to phone in for a phone call interview with Miss Cat then that's when I found somebody else at the other end of the Line and she said that Miss Cat won't be in until September so when I sent emails to reschedule another appointment then that's when they came back not being replied. So I felt that I needed to book a consultation session to talk with Miss Cat because back here at Home, someone whom teaches you to be a Root Worker is a Gobela and you'll never ever deal with them without consultation but then Deacon Millett mentioned that I should post on the Forum and let them know what's happening so that hopefully another phone call interview can be rescheduled and from here I can only see what happens next.

Hi JayDee
Thank you so much for the clear direction moving forward. The good news about it was the green light to order the course after fulfilling the necessary preconditions as outlined in the beginning. I'll order the course straight away because I was always budgeting for it.

Hi, Lovemoore --
Someone from the Lucky Mojo office will reach out to you via email to set up a time for our phone conversation. Due to time zone differences, we will try to find a time that is convenient for both of us. (I am in California.) Thanks for your patience.

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Hi Everyone,
I am Flower I live in the Uk, I would love to do the correspondence course I have been looking over the web pages for the last 3 years
. I also look up information when I am doing workings for myself. The time of looking at my finances was not in a good place, I have used the lucky mojo oils in the past from someone who sold them here in the UK so I know they work! now I am doing better so I have made orders from the shop online looking forward to their delivery!
I was wondering how do I get a chance to speak with Cat about the course, please?

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Hello, Flower, and thanks for your interest in my course.
Step 1: In your next order, leave a note in the message area for your account to be flagged as a "Prospective Student" and for Colleen to send you a list of anything you still need to purchase.
Step 2: If you bought the required books from another vendor, send a photo to Lucky Mojo via email, showing that you have the books and you will be credited for them.
Step 3: Read all the other requirements, regarding internet connectivity, connection to the African American community, and familiarity with the forum -- at https://www.luckymojo.com/mojocourse.html
Step 4: Ask Colleen to stay in touch with you -- she will schedule your interview just as soon as you meet the requirements. Interviews take place on Mondays and Tuesdays. Due to time zone differences, we will try to find a time that is convenient for both of us. (I am in California.)
Step 5: The interview is to see if you have a real reason to study with me, if the work will be feasible for you, and if you have realistic expectations about what i offer to my students.
A. I will seek to find out what your goals are -- to learn about family culture and folklore, to become a professional reader and rootworker, to open a metaphysical shop, to research material for literary purposes, or to collect information for academic use.
B. I will walk you through the 8 homeworks to see if you have experience with the tasks or will need extra help -- for instance, if you have dried herbs routinely in the past, i will not need to give you pointers on how to do that.
C. I will ask you to affirm that you will abide by four basic social agreements.
D. I will walk you though joining the private students' forum, with nagasiva as a helper, and we will introduce you to the private posting areas in the forum and give you a special Student Practitioner badge as your forum avatar and a thread in the student forum nmed for yourself, where you cn post personal updates..
Step 6: Once we have the interview done, you may purchase the course book and begin studying and corresponding with me through the private student forum as well as in this public forum.

Hi Flower,
I already have you marked as a prospective student.
As I asked before, please read the requirements on the page Cat linked above. The books are not the only purchases that need to be made, you will need to purchase a list of Lucky Mojo products, as well.

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
I finally have time to put in a request to take this course, after obsessively reading and re-reading every book I could get my hands on for the past year, while trying to survive my first year at my job and working 60-hour weeks.
Learning from books and the forum has been great, but I've been dying to have the chance for a more formal, structured approach.

Chelles93,
Thanks for your interest. Get in touch with the shop vi email, have them mark you as a "prospective student," and ask them to check off your product list for required purchases. After you have everything purchased, ask for an appointment to be scheduled for us to speak, and you will be on your way.

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Hi, I've been pretty well acquainted with LM for years now. A regular listener of the radio program, familiar with the free website content and have most of LMs printed material. Which sort of brings me to my predicament-
I very much want to take the correspondence course, have for a very long time and know it won't keep going forever. I'd never forgive myself for not taking advantage of the opportunity to learn more under Miss Cats guidance. I truly feel she's one of the most influential, knowledgeable and important practitioners of our time.(but I guess you know that!)
What mostly concerns me is as I mentioned I pretty much have all your books (at least the ones that would make sense for me) but unfortunately only bought the hardcover editions of "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic" and "Trolldom" through your website. This puts me in a tough spot for the course requirements.
I could of course take photos of my LM collection but clearly this isn't standard practice. Is this something y'all might be willing to work with me on? Presuming I meet the other purchasing criteria of course...
Oh, damn! I just saw your reply to 'Flower' is it reasonable to assume that the same instructions apply?

Miss Cat Posted: "Step 2: If you bought the required books from another vendor, send a photo to Lucky Mojo via email, showing that you have the books and you will be credited for them."
So that is what she would expect if you purchased the books from another store.

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Hi All,
This course represents a life long quest for knowledge for me, it’s rare to find such a course in modern day society. I have spent hours reading everything I can on the Lucky Mojo website, and it’s fascinating to see the depth of knowledge and experience documented all in one place.
I realize in the short time that I have been self educating myself, that I have been wrong about so much things. There is so much truth in the saying “ knowledge is power” because I can now connect the dots of simple things like lighting a candle.
I have no regrets in spending all the money over the years on root work, that I now realize was totally wrong. Because you don’t always win the first race, it take practice and determination to eventually cross the finish line ahead of the competition.
I do feel sorry for those who like me spent hundreds, even thousands of dollars on scams. I remember the last rootworker I visited told me it would cost $2500 to save my job. And I didn’t feel right about it , so I decided to buy a lucky mojo uncrossing kit. Well the results were immediate and I payed less than $100. But followed the instructions carefully, hence the reason why I am now in the LMC family.

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
For those who want to study with me, there are quite a few options:
1. Free public lessons on my weekly podcast, The Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour. Join my colleagues and me in the chat room every Sunday, ask questions, and get answers online.
2. Free public lessons at the Lucky Mojo Forum. Ask questions and receive replies from me and other highly qualified Moderators -- and be sure to read old posts for almost TWO DECADES of suggestions and answers to questions.
3. Private lessons for learners at the rate of $100.00 per hour, via phone or zoom. Yes, this is costly, but i am a fast talker and we can drill down on any topic you want.
4. Public lessons in workshop format at the annual Hoodoo Heritage Festival (It will be held August 13-14 this year via Zoom; tickets are on sale at http://hoodooheritagefestival.com at the Early Bird Special price until May 1st).
5. Public books on spell casting I write and publish, available at Lucky Mojo, independent metaphysical shops, and Amazon; most of them cost $9.00 each, and there are discounts if you buy a batch. Find the full catalogue at https://luckymojo.com/publishing.html
5. Join my private one-year correspondence course designed for those who wish to become professional root doctors; the cost is $104.00 to qualifying students. You will receive a 432 page hard-bound book and be expected to turn in 8 pieces of homework to graduate.
I love to teach folks and would be glad to teach you.

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
I am potentially interested in the correspondence course (just beginning to do the required reading and prepare to purchase supplies).
I have a question regarding the viability of my magical ethics with regards the hoodoo/rootwork correspondence course. It seems that this tradition is significantly more comfortable with hexing/jinxing/cursing than the magical system I currently practice. In general, I’ve found that “negative” work is more accepted in traditions that rely heavily on natural magic, compared to those that primarily involve ritual magic (which is what I practice). This seems sensible to me, and I am willing to approach things a bit more flexibly with natural magic than I would ever do in my ritual magic practice (not that the distinction is always so clear-cut). However, for various practical, moral, and personal reasons, I am largely unwilling to perform workings intended to do direct harm or to dominate/control the will of other people (or, for that matter, incorporeal entities). I believe I have seen this referred to as “working strong” in hoodoo. I am more comfortable with spells for hard justice or self-defense. I also don’t mind working “influence” type spells if I have the permission of the target, especially if the intention is positive and mutual. Given these constraints, do you think I could successfully complete the correspondence course work? If not, I will content myself with doing some work on my own with the more “positive” spells and supplies. Thank you for your time and consideration of my question.

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
jenniferkobernik ,
There is nothing in the course itself that prevents you from practicing a certain way that is aligned with your morals, though do understand that the system does not adapt to you either. Meaning, if you choose to work a certain way, this does not become the right way and all other workers are doing it the wrong way. Many of the practices in Hoodoo have roots to indigenous cultures, religious practices, and the basic need for survival. An example is Essence of Bend Over, this is a product that use to be used by African American women to have the women of the house in which they worked bend to their will.
Death, influencing, revenge, reversing are all parts of Hoodoo and based on tradition. These are discussed in the course, they are not homework assignments however. One assignment involves collecting Graveyard dirt.
You can learn much more about the course and these type of questions here: https://www.luckymojo.com/mojocourse.html

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
JayDee,
Thank you! I do understand that these usages are traditional and make a lot of sense in context, just not something that works for me personally at this time, so wanted to make sure it wouldn’t cause issues with me completing the course, as I don’t wish to waste anyone’s time. Graveyard dirt should not be a problem!

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Two of the books i have written on African-American folk magic.

At left is the 432-page hardcover "Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course." In print since 2003, it is the rarest, because it is only available to students who sign up to take my year-long course. On the right is the best-selling 224-page "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic," in print since 2002, with tens of thousands of copies sold in its 20-year history. You can buy my books at Lucky Mojo -- https://luckymojo.com/publishing or at your local metaphysical bookstore or via Amazon. To sign up for the course and get the course book, read about it first at https://luckymojo.com/mojocourse.html (Photo by Shelby O’Connelly.)

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Greetings to all and especially to Miss Catherine!
I am returning to the course after a long sabbatical, so to speak. Life has been full of surprises. In the interim, I got married, moved twice, had a baby, changed jobsx3 and I am remembering now how accurate miss Catherine's reading was when I called. She had told me what I didn't want to hear then but alas, here I am stronger and with a new found wisdom and drive behind what I want to achieve.
I starting from the beginning and excited to be back
I will finish this course!

Hello! I am writing in regards to reinstating my class membership in the course. It's been a long while due to circumstances but I have still continued learning and working as a root worker, as well as continuing purchasing from Lucky Mojo.
Please let me know what actions I need to take to get back on track in completing my course.
Student ID# 932
Thank You!

Hi Blackcat13,
You just need to submit the 8 assignments, and they will be reviewed by Miss cat and Nagasiva monthly.
Here is the link to the Homework Assignments https://www.luckymojo.com/homework.html
Please submit them all together, in one box, with your student ID.
Best of luck,
Mr. Christopher

Hey, Blackcat13, welcome back!
Mr. Christopher was helpful, but there is a bit more ...
By your student number, i know you here in the forum as paintedsmoke24, who joined the course in (gulp!) 2006 -- but never fear, we have seen returning students from 2003, so you are not alone!
Here is what to do:
1) I have merged your Blackcat13 user account into the paintedsmoke24 account and and that will allow you to get back into the private students-only forum, with 96 posts here to your credit!
2) If you cannot recall your paintedsmoke24 password, PLEASE contact nagasiva and he will get you back in-- call the shop at 707-887-1521 and leave a message for him with your current phone number -- or find him on Facebook as nagasiva yronwode and message him.
3) As soon as you can access the students-only forum, please find your own personal thread and post there -- just a hello is enough.
4) After that, yes, please do as Mr. Chistopher said and turn in your homework assignments -- then you will graduate and your name will be BLUE (Whoo-Hoo)! and we will send you your certificate.
5) If you graduate and have more than 100 posts, you can become a Moderator on the forum and earn store credits for making helpful posts in reply to queries.
Again, welcome back -- and i look forward to seeing your homework!

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Hello…Is the cc still offered?
Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
TFaust40,
Yes the course is still active, Miss Cat is accepting students and will continue to grade homework. There are requirements to participate in the course, such as purchases and an interview. The purchases are to show that you are using, learning, and practicing the work, that you have a vested interested, and delved into the practice.
You can learn more about the course and how to take the course: https://www.luckymojo.com/mojocourse.html
You can also learn from other courses from prior Hoodoo Heritage Festivals, you can purchase those courses now: forum269.html

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Hi, Faust40 --
My correspondence course is active and i am continually accepting new students. More than 2,200 students have enrolled since 2003! Many of the graduates have gone on to careers as root doctors, spiritual supply makers, shop keepers, and psychic readers -- and many just use the knowledge and training for their own personal benefit.
There is a special, private part of this forum where students and graduates can ask me questions and i will reply to them.
Thanks for your interest!

Re: HRCC: Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Questions and Answers
Is there a way to save money if I want to do the correspondence course? Because in the past I made orders from Italy but I had to pay very expensive the "customs fees"... Are there no alternatives? For example, the ability to buy perfumes etc. on Amazon without shipping costs, customs etc.? With the books I should be ok, I should have them all, soon I will make a screen of what I miss to eventually start the course. Thanks anyway and congratulations for your work.

Hello, brando.rosenkreutz --
I am sorry but my course is structured so that you will need samples of herbs, minerals, oils, and so forth in order to understand what i teach. For this reason the price of the course is very low compared to others of its kind ($104.00 for a 432 page book and full access to a private student's forum (a secret part of this forum) where i will answer your questions for the rest of my life, if you but ask), and a graduation certificate at no extra charge. I do realize the cost of shipping to Italy is very high, but i cannot help that. Perhaps you can find a trans-shipper or freight forwarder in New York who will handle the boxes for you. Others in Europe have done this.
Thanks for joining the Forum and making your first post.
