Yes, stars and lillith777, all candle reparts are emailed unless you request otherwise. As alternatives to emailed reports, you may request either NO reports or paper mailed reports.

Thank you kindly for the response. From what I was reading on the site, it seemed as if they only do snail mail. I am glad for this information!
Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
How long do these candles take to burn on average?
I ordered a light to be set from MISC, I just wanted to know how long I should expect to receive the candle report?
(I'm sorry if I should've found this information in another thread, I didn't notice anything, but I'll continue looking and take this thread down when/if I find it). Thanks!

I've always found that they always get to it within about a week. I'm sure the move to email reports has helped get those reports out faster, but its always good to remember that Lucky Mojo is a small business with only a handful of lovely employees serving all of us.

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
@Xanek
The candles take between 5-7 days to burn. They can take longer depending if your candle has a high flame, or a low flame, which may be representative of your situation.
As for the candle reports, I know a few clients and a couple of friends that have used the service lately have gotten their candle reports back up work i have done have gotten their reports back within 2-3 weeks. I think it all depends how busy they are, as I know Cat spoke about how they had to build an extra space for the excess of candles. So just be patient if you are going to order from them.

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
Hello! I wanted to have a light set in a few days at MISC but, I'm a little skeptical. I've been scammed by false readers in the past.
Does anybody know if the people at MISC actually sets a light for you? I apologize if my question offends anyone. I just don't want to experience what happened to me again.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Iv had candles set at MISC before they are not a scam, and the candle reports are always soo good and informative, things will show up on the report that happen to be true or come true. candle reports can take a little while to get to you though so dont be discouraged or worried if it takes a few weeks.

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
Hello!
I'm new to this forum and I am here because I have the following problem:
Last Friday I ordered a candle set on the MISC altar. I forgot to write my petition and a question concerning it in the message field of the order form, so I sent an e-mail to order@luckymojo.com. So far, I didn't get a reply, and I`m a bit worried, that they didn`t read my mail and set the candle without my petition. Would they do that? I tried several times to send another e-mail, but for some reason, it always returned.
I know this forum is not for customer service, but I have no no idea how to reach the customer service. I live in Europe, do I really have to call LM???
Any advice?
Blessings,
Leni

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
Im a little confused. I see a lot of post where Kits or Candles, Etc. are suggested and M.I.S.C. is mentioned as a BACK UP to your own work.
I have a room mate and zero privacy, so I use MISC as an alternative to doing work in my home.
Must you do your own work in addition to having candles set?

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
You have an option Cali_Girl. You can have lights set and do the spell or have lights set (period) or do the spell (period). Personally, I have worked spells with success and had lights set with success. Therefore it is a personal choice, you do not have to do both. As you stated, it is backing up your work or as an alternative to working a spell yourself.

I just purchased a candle to be set on their altar. I was wondering do they let you know when they're going to light the candle?

Hi Tigerlily86,
From my experience, they do not let you know when they will light it, but they do send a candle report once the burning is complete...I believe you can arrange the vigil to be lit on a certain date, but must let them know before hand. And you can also call them and check your order status. They are an awesome crew, very polite and helpful.

You can write your petition in the instructions or message area of your order. Your confirmation is your payment. Once the candle is burnt out you'll receive a report on the burn.

Oh i will get a report when its done =) thats very good!!
Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
I did not tell that i want it set to a special day, as i will not send any photot of the target.
I wrote to set it right away =) when time is to it
That means that my candle was set yesterday, i think. An intranquil candle.
How long does this kind of candle burn?

Amilo,
They generally set the candle with a day or two of the purchase. Candles burn vary for a variety of reasons. You'll know how long it took to burn when you get the report as it states it.

Backing up work is not mandatory, it is a personal choice, I have had success both ways. However, you can wear the oils and/or dress the candle(s) and burn at home. You can certainly work a honey jar, is this to draw a person to you?

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
I have a question. There have been times when I've had candles lit and gotten a less than ideal burn and was told that it was recommended to light another candle to strengthen the work. I also know on the page it has where you can order a number of candles at one time to be burned in succession (i.e. order three candles and they are all dressed and prayed over and when one goes out, the next is lit so that there is a continuous stream of energy being directed to your situation/target). Is one more effective than the other? Is it more effective to order one candle, then another than another or just the steady stream of three from the start (assuming I'm going to be burning three candles either way)?

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
It's completely dependent on the situation - there's no one stock answer to that question. Certainly if a candle shows resistance, then continuing the work through another candle would make sense (or continuing to address the situation on some way, anyway). However, in some cases a run of candles may not be necessary - so jumping right to that on the idea that it will be more effective is not accurate.
Talk with your reader about what would be best in any specific case.

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
That question, Kevin, is entirely based on what you are trying to do. What magical work that is required is contingent upon how great a change you are attempting.
Some things require a nudge and so a single candle can be immensly powerful and for other things you may need something more involved, or a series of candles that build power to the point of bringing about the change.

Hi All,
Please could someone tell me what the Top and Bottom in candle divination report means. I had candle set by the very kind and very patient Ms Elvyra after I had a reading. Ms Elvyra was very to the point and made me feel that I need not worry. I have had my report, but do not want to trouble her by asking if the top refers to past or future/present etc.
Thank you.

Hi, Loripots --
Candle divination is an art, not a set of rules, so it's not quite as simple as "asking if the top refers to past or future/present etc." I can give you a couple of examples, though: A candle burns from the top down, so a glass showing light grey smoke at the top but a clear bottom half means delays or obstacles but eventual success, while a glass filled with deposits of black soot from top to bottom holds little promise for future success. Likewise, a ring of unburned wax that is left at the bottom means that past events or conditions are held over and will influence future events.

I've had a reading with Elvyra at MISC; she is the best! I can't wait to get a reading with Cat as well. I'm saving that for a in person reading. it would be great to meet her, Elvyra too shes a sweetie.
Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
I sent in a petition less than three days ago, and I wasn't sure what the procedure was. When I received my paypal reciept, I forwarded that along with my petition to the e-mail address of the church. Hopefully that was OK.
Reading this thread I now understand what the timeframe is for requests. Actually I am not too worried about the exact timing of the candle or the report, I just wasn't sure if that was the correct way to send in the petition.
At any rate, I saw distinct movement on my issue almost immediately after I hit the paypal button and before I could even write out my petition...

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
Hi, CCS --
The best way to handle the petition process is to include the petition in the message area of your order. There are actually two opportunities to do this as you work your way through the checkout process.
Fun facts:
You may ask us to keep a petition on file for re-use at any time.
If you include the full name and birthdate of the person whom you wish to influence, we can work with better intent and focus on your behalf. We will keep the name and birthdate on file if you request.
Petitions should be 200 words or less, as we read them over the candles and can't read an entire "novella."
If you want photos attached to your candle, send them separately to photos@missionaryindependent.org

Thanks cat! I will remember for next time.
Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
I've been sending the photos to cgurch@missionaryindependent.org. Nobody has ever said anything otherwise, so I'm assuming there was never any problem and those pictures were attached to my candles?catherineyronwode wrote: If you want photos attached to your candle, send them separately to photos@missionaryindependent.org
Basically, what I did was in the message area of the order, I left a note that the petition would be sent via email. The email was sent to the order address with the petition, full names and birthdates of the people involved and the pictures attached.
In the future, I will do it exactly as you spelled out, but I didn't know what the limit was for the length of a message included with the order. And no, I didn't type out any novellas lol. Just 2 or three sentences. Actually, I'm anal retentive enough to check my last petition - it was 37 words. But between that and the full first, middle and last names and birthdates of a couple people, I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't get cut off.

If it is near to impossible to do Spell Work at home (I have nosey roommates), would having candles set at the Church be enough?
Coastside Conjure, HRCC Graduate, Forum Moderator
Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
That depends utterly and completely on you and your situation. Some problems can be addressed solely through candle work with great success via the burning of one or more candles by a competent worker, others tho... Others will require different forms work such as baths, lodestone ritual, moving candle spells, sneaky tricks, or container spells, just to name a few.candlemagic wrote:If it is near to impossible to do Spell Work at home (I have nosey roommates), would having candles set at the Church be enough?
That said, it certainly won't hurt to have candles burnt for you at MISC, and since the candle is read after it has burnt down this can be a valuable diagnostic tool.

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
Hi, Kmew,
Sending petitions to church@missionaryindependent.org when ordering online is not a good idea as the petition space is right in the order form. It makes a lot more work for us, trying to match up the petitions to the church orders. I'll explain the procedures:
The email church@missionaryindependent.org goes to our church pastors and deacons. However, because, like any business, we get so much spam, the office email is pre-filtered three times -- by a proprietary spam-filtering service in San Francisco, by an automated email-flagging service at our internet service provider in Santa Rosa, and by a unix-based filter set up by the the LMCCo co-owner (and my darling husband and mate) nagasiva here in Forestville. Only after those steps does it go into our church account's directory structure, from which the deacon downloads mail. This is done 5 - 7 days a week, about twice or three times per day.
The deacon downloads dozens of emails at a time. She has a choice then: She can either print out those that contain petitions and other material relating to orders and hand-walk them over to the relevant candle servers -- or she can forward them to the church's photos email box.
The emails that are forwarded to the photos email are sent back up to the internet and they return back down through the same filtering process described above, only this time, they end up in the photos email box of Missionary Independent Spiritual Church. A candle Deacon such as Katrina Meade, or someone helping her, downloads email addressed to the church once a day. The emailed petitions that were not properly attached to orders and automatically recorded are edited for length (500 words maximum) and cut-and-pasted into the order record for the matching candles where they stay as a permanent record. To do this, the order database for the church is opened and the petitions are inserted in their proper places. After they have been inserted into the database, they are printed out, and then each one must be matched up with its relevant candle-order, which was previously printed out and given to the deacons for the candle service.
Now, what if the petitions were propery attached to the orders? Well, quite a few steps would be eliminated!
The orders come in from our shopping cart provider with petitions attached. They are downloaded and inserted into the relevant portion of the candle order in the database, then printed out with the order. The order, with petitions attached, is given to the church deacons for the candle service.
Its much more seamless that way, and the potential for delay or misplacing the petition is eliminated.
The same is true of photographs. If they are sent to Lucky Mojo's sales department (order@luckymojo.com) the office manager will either print them out or forward them to the church. Depending on the deacons' schedules vis-a-vis the office managers' and order-takers' schedules, the printed-out photos may not arrive at the church on the same day as the order. However, if the photos are sent directly to the church, they will be downloaded earlier and will be held until the orders are processed and printed out. They will then be affixed to the orders, and when the lights are set, the pictures will be right there.
But if they are sent to the proper email -- photos@missionaryindependent.org, the deacons will have them right away, with no delay.
So, given all of these variables, each with its potential for human or mechanical errors, what is the best procedure to follow?
As of June 2011 (and this may change as we refine our system, of course), the best procedure for sending petitions and photos to the church is:
1) Edit your own petitions to 200 words or less.
2) Attach petitions to your shopping cart order in the message area.
3) If you are sending photos, include a note in the message area of your order stating that photos are being send separately.
4) Send photos, with captions naming the people depicted, to photos@missionaryindependent.org and be sure to state what they are for -- e.g.
A) "These pictures are for my candle service, order Number XXXXX" (you will know your order number when you order)
or
B) "These pictures are for a psychometry reading by miss cat, scheduled for X-Date" (you will know the date of your scheduled reading when you call the shop and set it up with the staff).
Hope this helps!

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
In my experience, usually roughly 3 weeks (sometimes sooner, rarely but every once in a while later). I had one time where there was a computer mix-up and a candle I ordered wasn't lit. I've ordered a number of candles from them and that's only happened once, but it did happen, so if you're worried, you can call the store or the church and they can check for you.

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
I am unsure whether when you ask for altar lights set by MISC, that they can e-mail the reports. I thought I found a thread somewhere which mentioned this and I stated in the report my e-mail address and to send the report via e-mail. I am now worried that this isn't available and I may have misread. So I am slightly worried about that.
Also, I placed my first order on the 12th (I think) & a set of three to run on the 13th, when should I expect the report? Do you light one after the other, moving the petition? So the work would be complete in roughly four weeks?
Many thanks in advance,
Callum R

Yes, MISC can e-mail the candle reports to you. I have it done that way all the time. Regarding when to expect the reports, my email candle reports have come anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks after the candle has completed its burn, which would make the wait for the candle report 2 weeks to 4 weeks from the time the candle was ordered/set. Each situation is different depending on how busy they are with candle settings. Your wait could be shorter or longer. If the wait goes longer than 4 weeks, though, I would call the shop to make sure your order was received and/or started, just to be safe. I do not know their process on how they actually handle the setting of lights in runs...sorry I can't help in that regard...but I can tell you I L-O-V-E having lights set in a run and find it very beneficial. Good luck!

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
Thank you for the reply JAG, I'm glad to hear that they can e-mail the reports. I'm looking forward to receiving one as this is my first time setting lights on the MISC altar, so should make for an exciting read. I imagine that they would use the same petition paper and move it from vigil to vigil until complete.
Thanks for wishing me good luck also
All the best and thanks again,
Callum R

Re: MISC How to Order Candle Services Question and Answers
Hi, DestinyAndFate1 --
Nicole left MISC to pursue other interests and other paths in life. She's doing well and still living nearby.
We were very fortunate to hire Mother Katrina to take on the role of lead candle deacon, working 5 days a week. Katrina is one of the most compassionate and caring people i know, and brings real love to her work on behalf of clients. In addition to setting lights and interpreting them, she is also MISC's liaison to the Crystal Silence League and downloads all of the prayers that are posted there by folks who are in need of help.
