Oh no Miss Aida, I was thinking about roots that customers may have held onto for too long. Not sure how long "too long" is, in which case, should we assume that lack of smell means a root needs to be replaced or fed in some way?

If real abre camino is endangered, then I'm all for finding equally potent alternatives. But if substituted with quassia, how will it change the effect of Road Opener? What things could one do or use to balance out that change?

Curious... so should we be looking for smells to our roots? If a root no longer has a smell - be it High John or any root - does that mean it's dead or too old to be of service?

Also, when I need to do some road opening, I often will use Van Van oil with saltpeter and quassia. It's not the same as proper Road Opener oil, but I figure it will suffice until I can do better.

This is an interesting opportunity for me to learn something new. I only know about use of quassia ...
