I had not considered that the integrity of the glass casing would be affected due to the heat exposure but that’s indeed a ‘duh’ in retrospect. Knock on wood, I haven’t had issues with exploding vigil candles but once is one time too many.

I am very curious to know what the traditional stances on re-using vigil jars are and if there is a precedent for re-pouring to re-use the jars. I would assume so due to the existence of the 'pull-out' vigil lights that can be inserted into the used glass, but you know what they say about assuming ...
