I was actually under the impression Uncrossing was just for when someone crossed you or general bad luck. Nice to know it can be used for this as well.

Does each bit of the spell remains need to be wrapped up in a bundle and thrown, or do they need to be thrown loosely?

That's not an option for me for a number of reasons, unfortunately. I really don't like having to waste the materials, but for this instance, I decided it was worth it. It's definitely not something I plan to do regularly.
