I've never heard of putting the incense on the candle.

I don't understand putting incense on the candle. Lucky Mojo's incense is self lighting. You're going to melt the sides of the candle and could possibly start a fire. You could grind some herbs and roll your candle in that if you like - but ...

you could burn the incense in an incense holder instead of around the candle. if you put a lot of incense in with the candle,then as the incense burns ash will be left in its place and it could put out the candle flame.

if burning the incense separately, put only the candle with some oil rubbed on ...
