I think just negative spells would be effected if he is protecting himself. If I were in your shoes I would do some sort of reconciliation work for mending (which is very difficult work from what i've read), and a honey jar spell to sweeten him, his mom/friends to you.

Hmm you could also try a vinegar jar too, that will make them argue/fight with each other. Just be sure to protect/cleanse yourself, not just from other people but yourself too because of the type of work your doing you don't want the energies from that to effect you.
