I would like to know which type of divination should I request when approaching a rootworker for advice in deciding whether or not I should perform spellwork on a specific situation?

I'm new here but I was curious as to the differences between the bottle spells and the traditional spell kits. Is one more effective than the other? Why would someone choose one over the other?
