Thanks for the response. The mechanical explanation can be ruled out. Summer temperatures are normal in the Asian country I am in, and the first time it happened, it was spring and still a little cold. The first candle bent south, and the second bent the opposite direction in the North.

I use plain candles all the time in different ways for different spells, with nothing extraordinary ever happening.
