Does Master of the Woods have more of a bend to thy will effect or more of a personal mastery effect? Would it be redundant with calamus or complimentary to calamus to get someone to favor you/your cause?

Is there much of a difference in terms of bending someone to your will when using calamus versus licorice? I see in many posts, calamus favored or being used with the other.
