If i would like to make a novena for St Helen, do I do it everyday for 9 days ? Or do I do it on every Friday for 9 weeks straight ?

If I have to burn a candle when I recite the novena on Tuesdays, do I burn the whole candle or until I finish my prayers only ?
What colour candle should I use ?
Which prayers do you use as well ?
Im in need for her help now.
