Thanks Miss Aida. I'm going to go with the fact of using too much herbs and spices, and not having them ground on a taper candle.

Update: I had redone the spell using a 10 inch taper candle. It burned down in 5 and a half hours. The candle holder, a gold star shaped holder got singed. The flame was leaning over an edge and done that. Could that just be a bad sign. The entire thing was black and most of the wax burned down ...
