Five Finger Grass Questions and Answers

I am an artist and work with my hands a lot. I was wondering if Five Finger Grass would be helpful in guitar-playing, painting, marionette manipulation or other dexterity-driven artforms. (other than playing with cards)
How can it be used best for this context? As a hand-wash, incense, mojo? What other LM items would be beneficial? Would I be able to convert a Master kit for this purpose?
I am interested in this sort of work also for full-body activities like dance and fire spinning. Any ideas? I know these aren't typical desires for Hoodoo focus, but something tells me the answers are in here somewhere.

Bri and all -
OH!! I love that crossroads ritual! The Black Man is going to get so sick of seeing me on the corner! Do you know what kind of alcohol I should take?
It says "and the spirit himself is given offerings of alcohol and sacrificed animals..." I don't sacrifice animals (except maybe an egg) and I am assuming it would be a mistake to take my puppy with me. ::cringing at the thought::
I don't mind bringing an offering of liquor, but which kind? Should I take a different one there each night? What do I do with it afterwards? Should I do the Master spell before or after?
I have ordered an Uncrossing Spell Kit and want to get through that ritual as well as my Fiery Wall of Protection ritual first - so I do have time to plan this. (I don't know if I am necessarily "Crossed" or not, but something happened yesterday that told me that big changes are on the way and whatever they are, I want to be as prepared as I can be. I am hoping I am making the right decision.)
I want to do it right and as graciously as possible. Has anyone else here done it? Do you have any advice?
I'm not quite ready for the Look Me Over - I am actually very shy. I think when that time comes, I would first have to work on Courage in some way. Suggestions for this are welcomed as well.
I am so grateful for this forum. I can't believe it took me so long to get here. This is the only place I actually don't feel compromised talking about these things. It feels very safe. Safety is a good thing for me right now.

Because it is good for your hands, if you are an artist or a musician, it can also be brewed into a tea which you can drink ... but be sure to save some to wash your hands with as well.

Their are a lot of variations on the crossroads ritual, when I went to get better at machining I certainly didn't kill any animals, I waited their till sunrise with a micrometer in my hand and when it was all said and done I left rum for him.
Crucible of Courage is just the thing to give someone more confidence in them self's and their work. I would suggest getting a mojo made up with it to help you. Right now they don't offer a Crucible of Courage mojo bag online but I would call the shop and ask if they could make one for you.

Well, I am always asking for help so I decided to try something out on my own this time to see what the outcome would be.
My garbage disposal has been acting up, and the maintenance man, who happens to live a few doors over from me

drags every single time he is asked to come and fix something. I mean literally, he will wait months. Every.single.time.
Anyway, so i decided to go over to his house this morning and see if I could get him to come NOW and fix the garbage disposal and a couple of other things.
I took some five finger grass (my first time using it) and dabbed some compelling oil on it. I took a small piece of brown paper bag and wrote my name over his 9 times and then placed the grass in the center. I wrapped it up and held it in my hand while I concentrated on my desires as I walked over to his house. Well, he answered the door and I told him what was wrong. He said ok he would be right over and the doorbell rang in less than 3 minutes.

I just thought this was so funny, I was truly surprised cause no matter what you do; call him, text, go to his house. He never. comes. until. he wants!

Thank you!

Hi miziluvhoodoo,
loading vigil candles is a subject that has been covered at length in the following thread (which will also provide much interesting reading and advice):
candles-trim,-carve,-load,-petition,-pr ... t9108.html
Lara, one of the site admins also has wonderful recipies she shared:
recipes-for-dressing-vigil-candles-t419.html
Short answer however: poke holes (3 or 4) on the top of the candle, around the wick, using a screwdriver/awl/knitting needle/pencil. Fill the holes with five-finger grass, cutting it into smaller pieces if required, and the condition oil(s) of your choice.
Blessings and best of luck.

Is there a particular Psalm or other section of scripture that pairs particularly well with five-finger grass? Thanks!

Of course Psalm 23 is all purpose, however, I like Psalm 78 when requesting favors

Psalms 23 would certainly be appropriate:

Although not quite the same in affect, you could purchase a Lucky hand root:
http://www.herb-magic.com/lucky-hand-root-small.html
They're often used together in combination hands and the Lucky hand root is more for gambling than skill in the hands, but they do share some similar properties.

I should have explained that I can't bring any dried herbs into Australia either, as they are often confiscated by customs and paying out for them just to lose them doesn't overly impress me.
I may be able to find some Lucky Hand, but I will have to grow it as It isn't available in dried form...unless someone from Australia knows of an obscure supplier.
Any other suggestions as to what I could use please? I did think that perhaps Bayberry may do.

Nutmeg is a traditional gambling charm, but they don't have the same effect as five finger grass.
That said, many related potentilla plants are used interchangeably as five finger grass and some of those are available in Australia - therefore I don't see the problem.
If you don't already have Miss Cat's herb and root magic, get it ASAP since it gives you latin binomials, alternative plants and plant families for all the major roots and herbs in hoodoo. With the book you'll be well-equipped to answer your own question as well as choose your garden based on what you want growing there magically!
Here's the link to the book:

Finally, please do keep in mind that although I understand the import difficulties you are facing and though we do aim to help, this is a Forum devoted to the use and purchase of Lucky Mojo products - not a Forum of ''how can I substitute Lucky Mojo products?'' Please try and be respectful of that.
Blessings and Success in your Works.

I am so sorry. I didn't realise that we weren't allowed to ask about substitutions. I will remember that in the future.

You can talk about substitutions, but asking for an obscure supplier in Australia.... not so much LOL!

Don't worry about it - but do get the Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic book since it will allow you to better understand what each plant is and how best to work with or substitute it.
The herb magic sister site to Lucky Mojo also has detailed info on the magical use of each herb so you can see how close a match they are to each other here:

Hi there
Sorry for my stupidity, but I was doing some research on herbs and their properties and been Afrikaans I googled some unknown herbs to see what they are and when I googled five finger weed I got info on marijuana.
Is this what it ?
Please don't laugh

Nope. It is not marijuana. It is Potentilla or Cinquefoil, also called SIlverweed. Cinquefoil means "five-leaf."
