Mugwort Questions and Answers

I read in Hoodoo Herb & Root Magic that mugwort and comfrey can be placed in a red bag for safe travel. I drive a lot and was thinking of putting up such a bag as a rearview mirror dangly (you know the sort?). My worry is that if a passenger touches it it will lose its power. Would I be better off hiding it in the dashboard or somewhere else or would it not matter since it'd be protecting everyone in the car?

Well for a mojo if anyone other then yourself even see it is bad. I keep a bad like the one you talk about in the glove box with the cars papers. You might also consider dressing the car with Safe Travel oil and getting a saint Christopher metal and praying for his intersession on your behalf.

in Ms.Cats book it stated to place mugwort under your pillow to aid in production of dreams.
what do you do in addition to that specifically? pray while your prepairing the bag and place under pillow?
once its placed under pillow do you just leave it there? any candle work involved?
Also saw on another thread about adding lavender & mint.
(i have mint inscense) tht ok?
Thanks!

You are correct; you pray over the Mugwort and tell it to give you clear dreams. You can leave the bag of Mugwort under your pillow for one night or every night until you have the dreams you want. You could, if you like, light a candle dressed with Psychic Vision oil and burn it in the room where you sleep just before you go to bed.
Good luck,
Mary Bee

Hello, I'm curious about the symbolism behind mugwort's use for safe travel. I noticed its use for vehicles in HHRM and wondered, where does this use come from?
For petitions, I like referencing the symbolism. For example, "cinnamon, just as you are sweet and hot, may my next lover be sweet and hot as well!"
But I don't know what to say about mugwort that has to do with safe travels.

Hello, Lazulum --
Mugwort is known as an herb that enhances psychic abilities and has also been used in washes or sprays to cleanse crystal balls and so forth. When it comes to travel, as it says on the label, it is used "to make journeys more pleasant by Eliminating Interference in One's Travel Plans." In other words, it is protective in a psychical sense, allowing the traveller to sense and avoid difficulties on the journey.

I have heard that Mugwort is not good to use if trying to get pregnant, is that true of all of the other Artemisias?

Mugwort and other Artemisias (such as Wormwood) are considered UNSAFE to ingest during pregnancy.

I have had excellent results with mugwort tea (I use a spoonful of mugwort, a clove or two, and honey) for eliminating insomnia. I steep for about 5 minutes, strain and drink. The tea will calm the mind, induce a deep state of sleep, and if you set the intention, can help with insightful dreams (psychic insights - in support of what Ms. Catherine stated above). Add a bit of anise to assist in psychic dreaming (if you like the flavor). And skip the honey if you want to avoid the sugar, and you can take the somewhat bitter taste of the tea.
