Hello from Seattle!

Hello, everyone!
My name's Stephanie, and I'm currently living in the perpetually wet city of Seattle, Washington, here in the States!
I've been involved with magick in one form or another for as long as I can remember, ever since I was a child, and found myself drawn to divination and magick, while living in an extremely conservative town, where everyone thought I was going to burn in Hell for even taking an interest in such matters! Haha, so, needless to say, I didn't get very far in my practice, back then! I got older, blessedly moved away, and took up first Wicca, and then Paganism in general, never really settling on any one path for a while. Then, years later, at a convention in NY City, I discovered Chaos Magick, which I fell madly in love with, and practiced for a good many years. I fell away from that, and these days simply follow my own very ecclectic path, though Chaos Magick does in its own way still very much influence my work. When you begin having experiences, however, that lead you to realize the gods and spirits are quite real, and not simply the mental constructs that your fellow chaos magick practitioners insisted they were, it tends to make you look elsewhere to learn about the mysteries this universe holds!
Recently, as I've begun to study the spiritual practices of my own Mexican heritege, I've found myself very much drawn to the practices of the African-American community, as well, which I was blessed to have been surrounded by in my early childhood. Hence, my interest in hoodoo, even though in many ways, it's quite a departure from my previous work. I've been listening to Cat and Conjureman's wonderful Hoodoo Rootworking Hour on Sundays, which I've learned so much from already! And I've been pouring through this website, learning all that I can! And, the more I learn, the more I very much feel at home here!
I most certainly have plans to apply to Cat's correspondence course, which I was really excited to see her offer! However, there's a family matter that I must tend to, first. Once that is taken care of, however, then I very much look forward to applying, and, I hope, have the honor of being accepted in as a student!
It's a pleasure meeting everyone! I'll look forward to talking with you, here on the forum!
