Hi there!

I've just had a reading with an AIRR worker about getting my ex back through hoodoo work. He says that on top of performing certain spells, I need to do some road opening work as well as getting an empowering talisman in the form of a key.

I'm going to buy a key pendant on a necklace. My question is, how do I go about making it into an "empowering Talisman" for the purpose of getting my ex back and keeping him in love with me and stay with me? Do I need to perform a special ritual to consecrate the pendant? Any oils/incence/powder/candles do I need for this?

Also, I know this is not the right topic here but can you suggest a quick road opening spell or point me to a link?

Thanks Aura, I was thinking of getting that but it comes with a rabbit foot and I'm not comfortable working with severed animal parts being a long time vegetarian. My reader also said specifically to get a key as talisman. I think I will get the items from the kit separately without the rabbit foot.

Hello everyone,

In the past I have worn a few talisman for protection but stop wearing them after a while; usually about two months or so. How long should a charged talisman last; I heard it depends but I ask, depends on what...can't seem to get a straight answer. Also, charged jewelry such as rings, do they loose power when contact with water over time?

Hi Casey, the reason that you get the answer that it 'depends' is because there isn't one answer. Each person will experience a different reaction to how long a talisman or charge will last. Each talisman is different and the way that you charge that talisman will also have an impact on how long it lasts.

For example; if you have a ring that you are running through Fiery Wall of Protection incense or dabbing with Protection oil every day, this is likely to last a really long time. You are working with keeping that energy going every day and therefore, it will be more effective in the long term.

If you only charge it once and continually wear it after that without doing any reinforcing it could fade or become less effective over time. How long? Well, again, that depends. But yes, they will lose power if you are not taking action to reinforce the energy that you want them to contain.

I have also had jewelry disappear on me when it was done or lost its charge. Most often these items then reappeared months or years later. Anytime I lose a piece of magical jewelry now I just assume that it needed a "break".

My recommendation is to set a regular time where you will cleanse or recharge your talisman. This will keep the energy strong and working for a much longer time.

I also have a black cat mojo bag but I can't tell if it is working. The reason I say this because I haven't won the pick3 or 4 lottery. I talk to it a few times. I even fed it with oil and smoke at the same time one night. I thought I would have better luck even in scratch off tickets.
What am I doing wrong?

You cannot expect to win every time you play games of chance. That's why it's called gambling. Don't limit yourself as to where money is coming from. Try doing some general money drawing work.

These are small charms, varying from tiny (the Skull, the Owl) to substantial (the Clock, the Crown, the Lovebirds in a Heart). Hello. Thanks for your time. I just had a quick question. I'm making a charm and the specifications were that I had to put it under my pillow at night and carry it during the day for nine days. Well, this morning I ran out the floor and left it at home! Do I have to start over? What should I do?

Unless the spell SPECIFICALLY states that the charm is dead if you don't carry it for nine days, I don't think it's necessary to remake the charm. But do start counting again from Day One; carry it for another nine days and leave it under your pillow for another nine nights.

Heloo Charityrose13,

First you can always take it to a Catholic or Episcopal priest if you are a follower of those faiths. You could also use LM Blessing oil or any of the Our Lady oils. I think there are 8 of them. Pick the version that you are closest to. I have always been partial to Our Lady of Guadalupe because of her closeness to indigenous peoples and Our lady of Perpetual Help is also one that feels good to me. When you get your oil just put a little on your fingers and say a sincere prayer to the Mother Mary asking to be closer to her and then pray your rosary.

I have always loves walking sticks when I was younger and now as i am older and developing I feel attracted to decorated staffs... I happened to have found three amazing staffs for three people in my household, myself and my son included. Very beautiful pieces. Is there any background or experience with staffs in hoodoo? I have read Starr Casas' workbook, which mentions it in connection to Moses, and I feel an affinity to that since it is in the Torah. My staff in particular has a hole at the top where I put my hands, I can possibly affix something into the hole, anything powerful I should use in particular - that I can buy from Lucky mojo? A stone, bone, or root?
Any thoughts are really truly appreciated!

Thank you Professor Ames, always nice to hear from your perspective. My main use for a staff would be to project energy, much as Moses did when he used his conjure staff against the Egyptians before the Exodus. Ive had experiences personally where I think a staff would have helped me focus, concentrate and dispel energy from my body into a point...be it the tip of a wand or the bottom point of a staff. Does that make sense? Im new to all this! Feelin it out! Im not talking Harry Potter hocus pocus stuff here either, Im well beyond that

There are some people I know who wear their protection around their waist. It's like a colorful thick string. Does anyone know more about this? Where does it derive from? Is it apart of hoodoo tradition? Does lucky mojo have this?

I think what you are referring to is from Nigeria and are called by several names, but I know them as jigida or mgbaji. They are worn by women as protection but mostly as an outward sign of their sexual maturity, fertility and womanhood.

I don't know that Lucky Mojo carries them. I'd suggest calling the store and checking, with curios there are often times when they go by a different name, the supply changes often I'm sure and a lot of the curios aren't photographed.

My daughter received a beautiful ivory pendent in the shape of a hibiscus flower, from her boyfriend. Can I somehow enchant it for her to be able to keep her boyfriend. You could get some of his hair and put it in a bottle of Stay With Me oil, and then anoint the pendant with that. It would get both his DNA and an oil designed for your daughter's goal of keeping him onto the same item, which she would wear. It's a great combination.

Update my daughter has been putting the stay with me oil with his eyebrow hair in it, on the pendent, bracelet and ring he gave her, also the jewelry box and stuffed animals, for 2 weeks. Last nigjt out of the blue he announced he wanted to break up. 2 weeks ago we had a reading with Miss Michaele, and she told us what to get from luckymojo to keep them from breaking up. Haven't been able to cast because we waiting for our order. This morning we have another reading to find out what happen and how to fix it. We are just in shock, did not see this coming, not sure what to do. He did get some of her menstrual blood, and deacon millet has a candle lit. And we have been working with the archangel 3 day wishing spell, tonight will be the third night. I guess stay withe won't work should I change it to something else?

Wow! That is a shocker. They were fine a few weeks ago.

Please just follow your rootworker's advice.

It is difficult for us to tell you one thing when your rootworker knows the entire story and the prescription.

If you start doing a zillion things (that your rootworker didn't advise), then not knowing what they are doing, it could interfere with their spells.

So, please ask either one of them what else they recommend for you to do.

I pray that this is just a spat and that they get back together again

It was a complete shocker. We found out from Miss Michaele thay he was forced by his mom, we will have her personal concern to freezer monday, how would we phrase her to quit interferring and and controlling his life, if he isn't my daughter's boyfriend rigjt now? Anyway he does still love her, but we have to clear the mommy onstacle. So Miss Michaele is making a babydoll with his hair, we started a honey jar yesterday with pink candles and put his hair in it. We anointed the candle with stay with me, tranquility, crucible of courage and king solomon wisdom. Plus around the jar, rose petals, catnip, star anise, cinnamon powder and red clover flower, and his picture under the jar. Yesterday the candle burned clear and steady all day, no wax, today the same so far. We also got a report from the church that our candle burned clean, but there are some delays, so keep praying and it should help. The ex could not take his eyes off my daughter and he looked sad. Anyway also Deacon Millet is lighting a love potion number 9 candle, 3 of them with a petition, and my daughter is praying everyday. I wish there was something I could do to punish that mother, but I don't want to jeapordize everything that we are doing.

I did have one question about my honey juror I should say my daughters honey jar, we put pink taper candles on top held in a metal candle holder, its either silver or pewter, anyway these candles never leave wax to drip down, They are really tall so we didnt think we should just stick them on top, it that ok?

I would like to ask, what is the larimar gemstone meaning? It have been first found around 1900 and is only available at the Dominican Republic, so I don't think many people use or understand it.

We are not a gem and mineral shop, and we do not carry this stone. I suggest you look through books on the subject or inquire somewhere that occult gems and minerals are the main sale items. We do carry quite an assortment or rocks, minerals, and amulets, but our work is prmarily in making oils, incense, powders, and bath products.

Traditionally a talisman is an ensouled object; a non-living object which has some of the attributes of living things. Some talismans seem to have minds of their own, and they are very active on the spirit plane. Legendary talismans in ancient times were statues that came to life. Mojo bags are talismans because they are given a spirit or awakened by the practitioner, but there are many other kinds of talisman in a multiplicity of traditions.

Amulets are usually lucky or protective objects which have their own innate power, and are more passive than talismans. A crystal pendant has metaphysical properties, but isn't necessarily alive. A blue evil eye amulet hasn't necessarily been infused with spirit, yet it is said to be effective anyway.

I personally break things down into more categories, but ultimately the question is where the source of the power is because it will somewhat determine the powers, maintenance, and limitations of the object.
