Reporting and Eliminating Spam and Abuse

There is a Spam posting in general discussion. The name of it is Free Credit Report. I tried to report it but it said an error occurred so I'm posting hereto let you guys know.

If you feel that you need to report a post due to commercial spam, personal abuse, copyright infringement, or inappropriate content, you may use the "Report This Post" option available on every post.

1. Click the "Report This Post" icon next to the title of the post.



2. Then fill out the "Report this message" by selecting the topic from the drop down list box.
3. Choose Yes/No if you'd like to be informed of the status of the issue.
4. Enter in the reason why are you reporting the post.
5. Click the Submit button.

Of course, you probably need to read at least one post to determine if someone is a spammer, although some are obvious from the title.

There are two basic kinds of spammers and scammers who try to post here:

1) Commercial Spam. This group includes those who post and then delete their registration name, which makes it more difficult to find and delete their posts. They usually want to sell you something that is not hoodoo-related --- like light fixtures, movies, viagra, or porn.

Most of the full-time commercial spammers send their emails from India, Russia, Poland, Nigeria, China, and Roumania. If you're curious about them, you can copy the IP address in one of their posts, and go to google and look it up. Most of them will appear on a spam list or bots vs. browsers list.

2) Occult forum spammers and scam artists. These people are trying to lure clients to hire them to perform rootwork or spell-casting or give psychic readings. They may post the same message about a "powerful spellcaster" or "great spell-caster" over and over again under different names, or them may try to engage other posters in brief dialogue and lure them over to their email or web site. They often deny they are spammers, and try to pose as a successful client of some wonder-working miracle-spell caster.

An occult psychic reader and spell-caster from India has been banned from this forum many times under many names, email addresses, and IP addresses, including

-- but she keeps coming back with posts that mention a "great spell caster" and often contain the odd phrase, "How Can I Repay Him?" as well as the phrase "How I Got My Ex Back." She is actually the gross and repetitious spammer

-- all of whom send their occult, "great spell-caster", and psychic reader spams from India.

B) Nigeria
The occult spammer
Kenddy a.k.a.

is a "sleeper" spammer, who supports and shills for the spammer
micheal a.k.a.
michealanderson a.k.a.
micheal234 (like michael but spelled wrong).
Ken and his variants sometimes claim to live in Canada but actually post from Nigeria and may be the same as
tasha_woddy. a.k.a.
tash_woddy and
tasha
who spams from Nigeria and claims to live in England. Meanwhile,
Sandra,
Sandra04,
Paul,
Callpaul,
Scottcarlcr7, and
Rossy
also send "great spell-caster" occult spam direct from Nigeria.

C) China
Another repeat offender is
den52nis a.k.a.
dian532na,
who spams psychic reader advertisements from China.

If anyone posts an email address or web site address soliciting services for psychic readings or spellcasting -- or for lighting design, cheap movies, viagra, and porn -- please report the post. Just click the little triangle that points downward and has a red exclamation mark in it (!) and give a reason for the report. You can also follow up the post with a one-line reply, something like "The above post is a scam, has been reported, and will soon be deleted; do not respond to it."

I know this is generally for LM forum help but my yahoo account that is signed up to the HRCC and the HRC grad yahoo groups has been compromised and I fear may be used to spam or what have you in those groups. I am working to try to recover the account with yahoo (and the subsequent hotmail account that was also compromised) but wanted to alert someone so they can take whatever actions may be required (blocking, removing what ever is necessary)

oh I managed to recover the yahoo account and hopefully there was no spamming involved though the hotmail one seems to be a total loss, they refuse to really cooperate since they have locked the account down and apparantly i cant "guess" the correct information to the questions they are putting to me (that i originally answered over 10 years ago lmao) so be it...

I'm not a spammer but for the past few days I've been getting a message error saying that I was a spammer,it gave a link to click on in order to fix the problem.It said something to the effect that my ip address was on a spam list.If I ever posted something to make the Moderators of the Forum I was a spammer,I'm sorry.I just made a big purchase to to fulfill my requirements for the Correspondence Course....I swear on everything I love I'm not a spammer...Does changing my user name have anything to do with it.Just asking again thanks and have a good day...

This is obviously an IP address used by many Cablevision / optonline customers, and you personally have received no board warnings or other write-ups for problem behaviour.

You have sent no PMs (private essages) and have a total of 3 PMs in your inbox -- not the marks of a spammer.

My guess is that someone else from your IP location spammed us at one time. I wish i knew how to delal with it, but, frankly, i don't.

Other than the click-on-it box -- which, frankly i have never seen nor even heard of on this [articular forum -- what symptoms are you seeing?

I got this same error a few days ago. I was away from home, on the forum on my smart phone. I had moved out of a home network, and was on my phone service provider's network. I tried to post and, still on the LM forum site, received an error page telling me I was unable to post because my IP was on a spam blacklist. It provided an external link, which explained that this was not indicative of my having done something wrong, and explained that I could do something in my email settings to avoid future confusion. I apologize, but I do not recall the external site, nor the offered instructions. I restarted my phone, and the issue was resolved, so I didn't think anything else of it.

For iPhone users - I just got this message and was unable to post my post. I called at&t (my carrier) and the nice lady there told me to renew my ip address these are the steps:

Go to settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset Network Settings

This will cause the phone to reboot.

But then I was able to post.

I'm afraid I didn't see this thread before I did these steps, but the site said my ip address was associated with a virus that collects banking info. The AT&T operator did not think this was specific to my phone, so hopefully it's not!

I was to post from my iphone and I got a message saying this:

What is this about, I am confused. The only thing I can think of is changing my user name 3 times. I just wanted to find the right username to have.

Just a heads-up --

Many of you who have been here for a while recall the "great spell caster" spammer who posts a personal testimony type message about a "great spell caster" who saved her marriage, This person repeats and repeats and repeats under different names, but the most frequent phrase in these posts is "great spell-caster" -- and the spams come from India and Nigeria.

Well, yesterday this person posted a prayer to the Crystal Silence League. The supposed prayer at the CSL consisted of the same cut-and-paste "great spell-caster" and "How I Got My Ex Back" hogwash about a marriage reunion that we have seen dozens of times, but with a different name than they have used here.

The latest "great spell-caster" name and email combination is

As a person with Pastor privileges at the CSL site, i retained the Ishavara Temple / Stella Chris post but edited it into a paean of praise to God. Now Ishvara Temple and Stella Chris can receive hundreds -- perhaps THOUSANDS of happy messages informing him, her, or it that "someone at the Crystal SIlence League has prayed for you." LOL!

The term Black Gypsy refers to something else -- a Black person dressing as an Indian or Gypsy.
