Greetings from Australia

Hello,
Greetings from Australia! I recently moved here from Quebec, Canada, so am getting used to being in a completely different hemisphere. As someone has lived her live very much in tune with the seasons, it's a big transition to make, spiritually.
I'm a longtime occultist from a (Catholic) French-Canadian background. I worked in an occult shop, and practiced Wicca for a long time, but became disillusioned after awhile. I began to investigate Trad Craft, for the same reasons as many of us, I suspect.
I've always been attracted to vibrancy and life of the diaspora religions, as well as folk magic and Hoodoo. Hoodoo, Voodoo and the various diaspora religions have always felt more 'current' and 'alive' than some of the reconstructed religions. I don't mean that to offend anyone; in time some of the old European practices may become more vital as they adapt and evolve to our era; as more and more young people blur the line between the mundane and spiritual.
I'm interested in Hoodoo, and conjure-style magic. I'm interested in learning and trying some Hoodoo-type work, although I may never become an actual, full-on traditional rootworker, given my Catholic and Pagan background. Also, I'm learning that alot of the New-world plants used in Hoodoo may difficult or impossible to find here in Aus.
