Allow me to introduce myself....

Greetings and salutations!
I’m Kristyn. I’m a wearer of many hats: mom, herbalist, doula, midwife assistant, crafter, and witch. It’s the last one that brings me here. I’ve been a practicing witch since I was 11. I’ve always been decidedly witchy. My parents are/were (the “were” is for my mom who transitioned from parent to ancestor in 2010) always supportive of me finding my own spiritual path. And so I set out to the lands of Barnes and Noble where I found umpteen books in the “new age” section and quickly devoured them. But was always left feeling vaguely unsatisfied. And it wasn’t until rather recently that I realized why. I come from a family full of closet witches. We kids used to sit around and watch the adults throw down cards, crack out the pendulum, and tell stories of spirits. They used to play games with us with playing cards called “hot and cold” to help develop our intuition. But they denied that what they were doing was witchcraft and after some time they stopped doing anything witchy at all. I still don’t quite understand why and sadly I am now estranged from most of my family. I think they were conjuring behind closed doors and don’t want us to know. So in an effort to find that missing piece I started to reach out to more people who practice AND look like me, and thus I was introduced to Hoodoo by a fellow sistah. I have known of Hoodoo since I began my foray into the world of witchcraft. But all of the sources I had to call upon termed it “evil” and so I stayed away. And I can’t believe I bought that line of trash hook, line, and sinker! I could have been at this study and this work from the get go! But I’m here now and hoping to reclaim some of my roots through rootwork. Hoping to take the correspondence course as soon as I can save up some money! Super stoked!
