Hello All,
Anyone have any advice or sources of info on how one ought to properly address, petition, and revere St. Sebastian in accordance with Folk Magic/Religion and hoodoo tradition and such?
Anything in regards to specific colors of altar cloths and candles, prayers and novenas, offerings and such would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I am not as familiar with Saint Sebastian, however, I recommend that you connect with an AIRR reader who has working knowledge. You can identify one of the members here (

In Catholicism, St. Sebastian is the Patron Saint of Archers, and of a holy death. The holy death part seems to have linked him in some way to the veneration of Santa Muerte ( who is not an "official" catholic saint ). Sebastian is also a Patron Saint of soldiers ( he was in the Roman army), as well as a Patron Saint of Athletes. I know a popular Confirmation gift for kids in athletics is a St. Sebastian medal. He is also well known for his healing abilities and sought for protection against plague. Since the middle ages, he has been depicted as a handsome, young, ... almost naked man shot with arrows i.e. "a hottie", popular with both females and gay men.
You can google St. Sebastian prayers and novenas. I am sure some of the Catholic sites have prayers for each area for which he is a Patron. As far as hoodoo tradition goes, some of the other folks on here will have to fill in the details. Best of luck.

Hi Lilith,
If you are working with Saint Sebastian to clear a path forward towards justice, then you can work with Road Opener products to appeal to him for assistance.

He is known to break down obstacles in court cases so you could also burn Oregano and Cascara Sagrada as incense for this goal.

Work with Saint Sebastian on Tuesdays. His color is red and his feast day is coming up (January 20).
I hope this helps. Good luck

Thank you for responding.
I’m making a Saint Sebastian oil on his feast day for my gay clients and am looking for herb and oil suggestions.
