She prefers full sun but can do fine with as little as five or six hours of full sun. She appreciates well-drained soil, so try not to plant her at any low points in the yard where water might collect.

A lot of plants coming from the greenhouse are a little root bound, so gently separating and freeing roots will allow them to settle in faster and better.

Rosemary in containers only need to be brought in when in those areas where the temperatures get down below 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Overwintering rosemary in containers can be done by placing in a sunny window in a cool room. It’s an evergreen herb, so it’s tough, but can dry out faster in indoor environments.
