I downloaded the podcast and enjoyed it very much. ConjureMan Ali is a good teacher, and I hope he does write a book on the subject.

I have also placed a purchase order for the recommended Richard Webster book. I have several of his other "For Beginners" series books and I think that his writing is what I need at this point -- simple, no-frills introductory-level basics.

Is Geomancy and Ifá Divination related in anyway?

They are related mathematically, but not culturally. Many divination systems are based around multiples in this series: 2:4:8:16:32:64:128:256 -- and so forth, and they will look the same in terms of the number of responses to choose from, but culturally, they come from different parts of the world.

I wrote a book about bone reading that describes some of the similarities among diverse systems, based on their mathematical properties. It is called "Throwing the Bones." It does not cover Geomancy (no bones, shells, or nuts are found in that system), but it does get into the parallel between the 256 odu of Ifa and the 256 changing lines of the Chinese I Ching.
