Hello I was wondering what someone would use brown rice or a grain that looks like rice to do as far as spells or cursing? I have been dealing with a ex who had someone leave things in and around my home to control and blind me during our relationship to her nonsense and cheating ways and has continued to do things that I now realized has been going on all this time. Pretty sure she is trying to get me to come back with her but I'm done with her.In cleaning my home I recently found this brown rice grain rolled up in one of my shirts tucked away in a clothes box that was hidden away out of normal reach and use. Not sure if this was left there while we were together or recently placed but just was wondering what that would be used for???

I am not familiar with any hoodoo spells which would use a grain of rice like that. It is either a weird mundane thing or else it is rooted in another spiritual tradition.

Thanks athena for your Input. Although it was not just one single grain in the shirt to be a mundane thing it was about maybe a cup or two of that brown rice tightly wrapped in my shirt. I have had readings by airr members and are aware of what's going on and have successfully defended my self and unraveled the whole thing.i was just curious about what type of spells or tradition would use that to maybe hone in on intention or to figure out what they were trying to accomplish. As Miss Athena suggested, the best way I know to hone in on someone's intent who you think may be throwing for you, is to get a reading. If you aren't someone who reads for themselves, then getting someone to do a reading for you is the most straightforward thing you can do to try to get some enemy intel, as it were.

I have read a lot of information about protection but it is difficult for me to choose. Would be enough for protecting me, a salt bath before and after doing a sour jar on anyone? If so, should I have the bath before beginning the jar spell, and the last day, when I finish the 7-10 days of the spell?

When I do negative work, I do it in this order: vinegar jar, cleansing, and then protection. You will need to cleanse yourself to take off the negative gunk you picked up from the spell. Preferably with hyssop and psalms 51. Adding protection afterwards will fend off any backlash you might receive if the spell works.

I'm not sure if you are talking about just plain salt in a bath or if your talking about magically prepared bath salts like Lucky Mojo sells. I mean you can certainly do the plain salt bath but that isn't hoodoo. Baths in this tradition are usually mixed with herbs or other minerals.

I have a friend who looks to the people closest to her as her prime resources for just about everything. If I tell her I’ve read a good book she’ll ask to borrow it right away, if I learned something new she’ll ask me to teach her everything—-basically there is a tax on every good thing that happens to me (if I tell her). She also asks for money. She’s got other value, but has the MO of a parasite.

What kind of spell would you suggest to essentially put a “do not disturb” boundary so she does not come to me looking for resources/favors? Would you suggest a jar? A misdirection poppet for her to suck on? I would like her to not identify me as a resource and not to burden me with tedious favors. Thank you for your help. Q

Need suggestions of LM products for protection and avoiding car accidents.

Recently, I was involved in an accident. I didn't see a very stealthy placed Stop sign, until I'm in the middle of the intersection. Now, you don't have to be a good driver to know this, but seeing a Stop sign while you are already in the middle of intersection is waaaay to late. Then I saw the headlights of a 2020 Ram pick up truck coming at me at full speed, didn't slow down at all, the pick up truck hit my car, my car span 360 (or maybe 720) and it was totaled. My car's entire front bumper is gone along with severe engine damage.

However, it was a miracle that both me and the pick up truck driver survived. I have used some Protection, Safe Trip sachet powder I got from LM to protect the car, or at least tried to.

Knowing what each product does, I can think that Clarity can be used to give me a clear mind for driving, but what else can I use? There is so many ways an accident can happen. Even if I am the most careful driver out there, obeyed all traffic signals, there might still be chances that someone hit me from behind, or, when I was going over a bridge, out of some rare chance, the bridge collapsed, and I fell into the water below. Or maybe my car's engine suddenly dies while I am on the highway, and I suddenly stop, and cause a big and potentially fatal pile up.

You can probably tell that I am paranoid of another accident. Which is why I am seeking advice to avoid all that with magick. Some sort of protection spell to protect me and my car, and avoid accidents altogether.

As for products, have you thought of King Solomon's Wisdom? If I may offer some mundane advice, if your fear interferes with your sleep (dreams) or your daily life, please consider therapy. Around a decade ago I was involved in a bad car accident and I had nightmares. Therapy helped. And please remember that your car did its job - it took the damage so that your body didn’t. I like to look at my accident that way. My car was totaled, but it “died” saving my life.

I was listening to a recent Hoodoo Network Radio hour, and a woman called in who was a Cancer. The hosts commented on how Cancers tend to attract people who try to attack and take advantage of them. This struck a chord with me, I'm a Leo but I have that same problem. So, I took a look at my horoscope. I'm right on the cusp of Leo/Virgo, in fact, in my youth Jean Dixon had my birth sign as a Virgo. My moon is in Libra, but my rising sign and 1st and 2nd houses are in Cancer. This was an "aha" moment. I understand these will influence how I present in public, and might help explain some things I haven't been able to make sense of. I feel like my "real" Leo personality is always being tripped up. I weirdly find myself acting emotional and fragile when in fact I'm not. A small part of me feels easily intimidated and fragile, but the majority of me feels strong. I find that bullies single me out and people try to take advantage of me. I am also passed over for leadership positions I know I can do because my supervisors don't perceive the leader in me.

Does this make sense, and if so, is there a way to remediate this situation so that my true Leo self can come through? I thought I could combine crucible of courage, queen elizabeth root oil, crown of success, and master oil and put it in my body lotion and wear it as a perfume. Would it make sense to get some Leo oil? Any other thoughts on what I could do? I don't really need to increase my actual courage as much as get people to see and respect my strength and courage. Maybe clarity oil?

Also, I was wondering if there was an easy way to push back the people that target me. I'll be in a 3-day online event soon and one of the women who's attending publicly bullied and shunned at a previous in-person event. I’ve defended myself one-by-one with these people, and it works, but the constant effort is tiring. It feels futile because another person will just pop up again out of nowhere. On the same radio show, getting dirt from a protective ancestor's grave and burying it in the 4 corners of your property was suggested and I'm planning on doing that. Also during the radio show, Conjureman Ali suggested rootwork where you boil the person's name paper in saltwater while reciting the 35th psalm. It seems so simple and not overly time-consuming. I've gotten really good at identifying people who are going to be a problem for me early on, could I just do the salt-water name paper boiling up front?

I think there's some other factors at work here, like my family history, but dealing with the astrology aspect might be a good first step. An astrologer would be able to work with you and make a talisman for you to wear that can help balance the issues you are feeling. I would look on AIRR and see which readers do this type of work and set an appointment with them. Yes using oils like Leo oil , on a candle with the appropriate color for Leo would help as well. You have to remember the planets, the signs all play a unique role in each persons make up and it can be complex but very rewarding to learn about. Evan Lionheart, forum Administrator is writing a book on Astrology that will be available at the next Hoodoo Festival!

You can do the work that Conjurman discussed on the show as an option to stop bullies. I would also wear Fiery wall of Protection oil and a protective charm or mojo bag. Stop Gossip is a great product when dealing with verbal bullies. Freezer spells work to stop a bully as well. Some people have it in them that people do this, it's like you have to learn a lesson or karmic lesson. This is something a worker could explore with you.

Astrology oils, both zodiacal and planetary, can be used in many ways, to dress the body, to aid in characteristics of that sign, to enhance those qualities of those with that sign, used as an astrology candle dressing when doing love work to represent, for instance, a Leo lover. I just placed a big order with LM. I got Uncrossing Oil, Run Devil Run, Block Buster, and Jinx Killer. I have Firry Wall of Protection and Protection oils already. I am going to use these oils in a jar with every protection and uncrossing herb I can, along with a black tourmaline, my hair, and petition.

There is a man in Florida that won’t stop torturing me with love spells. It’s making me sleep all day that I can’t work, eat, workout, or do anything I need to do. I begged him to stop, and he won’t. I had a vision today of him taking a bite of a red apple, and I took a bit after, and we kissed with my arms around him.

I am able to astral travel anytime I want. After he promised me he would stop doing spells on me, I saw my pic against the wall with a red candle facing it. The next day I saw it again but with a purple candle. I have been getting visions of him doing spells on me for months, and he recently came clean about it after denying it.

It’s bad to the point where I’m rolling around calling his name out, and saying that I love him, with his face stuck in my head. I feel like a lost soul, and break down crying at times. I’m at my wits end, and it’s clear I’m dealing with a sociopath.

I feel like I’m in despair, and being forced to love somebody I know I would never love. He used my handwritten letters as a personal concern. I don’t need a reading as I’m a very good psychic, and can see what I need to know anytime. I want to know if this sounds good, and if I need or should do anything else?

I would start protection work any day of the week, considering the emergency nature of this kind of work. You can work with either moon cycle, waxing or weaning. When the moon is waxing, petition for the shield of protection to surround you and keep you safe from harm. When the moon is waning, petition for the end of whatever spiritual attack you maybe under.

Are there any traditional circles in hoodoo practise, other than that in HHRM? Or any tool to make circle? Like wand, machete, or staff? Something like grimoires style? Or like traditional english witchcraft?

Personally, I am not familiar with such tools or rituals in hoodoo. Use whatever tool is available to you to draw your circle and see how it works for you.

You could always research the spiritual properties of certain types of wood. Many are associated with protection; for example, rowan wood is believed in some magical traditions to protect against witchcraft. Use a small branch or stick from your chosen species of tree to create your circle. Just one idea.

You're asking about several things at once here. The protection you're talking about, within hoodoo, is usually provided by God or Jesus, and the seals to which you are referring (such as might be found within the Lemegeton (or "Lesser Key of Solomon") are typically used as talismans within mojo bags at best within hoodoo tradition.

What you have described sounds may be rooted in European ceremonial magic practices. These forms of magic have influenced hoodoo to a certain extent, but they are not essential to its practice. There are also Asian shamanic practices that involve drawing a circle.

The Black Man at the Crossroads is usually not conceived as the Devil, Satan, an evil spirit, from which one must be protected, but instead as a tutelary spirit from whom one learns expertise in some art or field of performance.

The grimoires most often encountered in hoodoo are those such as The Black Pullet, The Egyptian Secrets of Albertus Magnus, The 6th and 7th Books of Moses, or The Key of Solomon. Those dealing with evil spirits are usually avoided as unnecessary or dangerous.

Engaging dangerous, inimical, or evil spirits is usually the prospect of those who employ Black Arts products in hoodoo, for compacts, deals, alliances, or consultations with spirits of questionable or evil character.

Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic does not contain recommendations or descriptions of the use of protective circle in a ceremony of which i am aware. Please point to the page where you are finding this. At best my recall is that an example is given of piece of paper with a written circle and criss-crossed words inside, which may be used for petitions.

Ceremonial magicians, Wiccans, and Thelemic occultists at times find the activities and tradition of hoodoo compelling because it involves folk magic from which they have been disconnected in their family and culture. Wiccan tradition was heavily influenced by hoodoo by such sources as Lady Sheba, and Thelemic magicians owe a debt of gratitude to Paschal Beverly Randolph. Their writing writings provided inspiration to people who were creating these traditions in the 19th and 20th centuries.

That said, there are few to no ceremonies of the type you describe in hoodoo, and one exception to this might be found on page 64 of "The Guiding Light to Power and Success" in which a 1939 novena of black candles in a circle is described. The folklorist who gathered this spell from an African American man in Saint Petersburg, Florida, was Harry Hyatt. Hyatt also described meeting with a few African American ceremonialists, even Rosicrucians, but i'm not aware of any who were contacting evil spirits while so engaged.

Working in secret is a very common tradition especially if you live with people who don't agree or believe. You will have to resort to sneaky tricks to protect them.

Some examples or options for concealing your work are:
* Add the spiritual oil to shampoo or hair conditioner, after you pray over it to protect them.
* Add the oil in their shoes, putting it on the sole of their shoe
* Write a petition paper with a protective seal on it, dress it with Fiery Wall of Protection Oil, place it in and put the sole back.
* Brew a protection bath, add a cup of the water to the rinse cycle of their laundry to dress their clothing with protection.

So according to my age and culture, I’m heading into 3 years of ”bad luck” in terms of everything starting next year. I need to order cleansing items and protection items. What shouldn’t I miss? I need help to make a product list as well as suggestions on spells please.

I have fiery wall of protection oil and powder, protection mix herbs, What more is a must have for protection?

And in regards of cleansing, what is a must have? Perhaps 13 herb bath? Uncrossing?

You stated this is based on your age and culture that you are heading into 3 years of bad luck. Have you consulted with those in your tradition and culture to ask how to remediate this or to minimize the effects?

You can also consult with an AIRR member to get a reading on the situation and what work should be to intervene.

Products wise, I would cleanse daily to remove any bad luck, clean the house with Chinese Floor Wash, bath in 13 herb bath, dress the body in Fiery Wall of Protection. Especially if the enemy knows how to cast spells!!!

Yes you can break a persons protection, this may included using Bay leaves to hide your work, using protection on yourself, calling on spirit guides to assist you. You can place the person in a reversing box to send the work back as well.

Hi again...despite the work must be done for my spiritual cleaning and protection...what should I do to break her protection in order to not cause problems in my spells against that person...because everytime I am working her with spells something is going spiritually wrong with no physical explanation !!! Unbelievable thinks happen
My point is break her protection so my spells against her find their way and have the desirable results with no blocks
In few words I want to make her powerless, confused, and unable to be protected in any way

First you hide the work, if the person is not aware of it, less likely they will fight it. Second you need to determine what protection they have and overpower it with another working. If they have strong spirit guides, you may need to call on a strong spirit, if they have protection all around them, then find a way to break the protection. Most workers in my experience have a blend of protections, this is due to them knowing the craft and the work. I also think using Confusion products to cause them to be confused to help break into the work.

A doll-baby is an excellent way to protect a person from a distance. You can add a personal concern, stuff it with protective herbs, add seals, other protective items. You can place protective candles such as Fiery Wall of Protection around it, put a Rosary other other religious symbol based on your religion.

Hi everyone!

I'm in need of some advice on a couple of things, I hope I'm posting in the correct thread.

I've done my cleansings, uncrossings and jinx removers but I'm in need of some protection spells for not only myself but my family (spouse and children) that I can do myself at home. Money is extremely tight and I'm unable to pay a rootwoker at the moment so I will need to do them myself and with very limited resources. Someone suggested I could do a reverse mirror box (mirrors facing outward with a picture of myself and family inside)... any feedback on this?

Any other simple protection spells when resources are limited anyone could recommend would be greatly appreciated!

I moved your post from the section about rootworkers to the page on protection for self and family, as it is more aligned with this topic.

For the family you can add the same product line to their laundry, to shampoo or body washes to also remove it off of them.

A reverse mirror is when you place you and the others in the mirror box, the mirrors face outward to reflect back, the inside of the box would be lined with protection herbs and products. You then can seal the box and add protection candles on the four corners.
