Peony Root in Oil Questions and Answers

I am going to work the "Retaining Health" candle burning ritual out of Gamache's book. He suggests using Crucible of Courage oils on the "health" candles. When reading through the descriptions, I thought that Peony oil seemed a better fit.
Have any of you used Peony oil in this manner or for other health oriented spells? How did you feel it worked?

I would work what is specified in the book. Now if you want to light a helper candle with peony oil on it, then you can. But they are not interchangeable. There is a reason for each oil specified.

I think both would be helpful. I know personally what it is like to need courage in a health situation. The courage to live and the courage to go through it "again". I just ordered Peony Root from Lucky Mojo, i just received this week along with many other healing herbs and roots for what I'm working on. I know you asked about the oil which I do not have, but I think it is a great choice! I particualrly like the root because it is a health and a protective root.
Take care.

Thanks for the responses, starsinthesky7 and Triplethreat. I'd love to hear more from people who have used Peony oil/root/powders in their workings - especially healing related, but just in general, too.
I think since the "healing" candles are set in pairs around the astral candle I'm going to take a hybrid approach and do half of each pair in each oil. It's not by the book, but I have a feeling I should include the peony oil in the working and this feels like the right way to do it.

I've used Peony root to break jinxes and to bolster healing work, I find it works particularly well with Angelica Root and Althea leaves.

Hi mike,
that sounds like a good plan to me.
I've worked that spell in a similar fashion myself, doing one oil for the white ones and one for the red although I didn't use peony oil at that instance
I too like to work with peony root for health.

Quick Update: the Peony Oil worked really well in this application. I will definitely keep it on hand for future use. The combination of it & the Crucible of Courage oil on the candles (separately, not on the same candle) yielded the desired results and I'm very impressed with the quality of the oils.
