Abramelin Oil Questions and Answers

Just got an order of Abramelin in oil, incense, and powder. I was really drawn to this formula when I read that is based on the Jewish holy oil described in the Bible.

I used already used the incense for trance work, and the effect was amazing!

I'm writing for any suggestions of other ways I can use this formula, especially since I have it in 3 styles. I just knew, inside, that I needed to work with it, and am eager to see how. Thanks!

Folks who use this line of products often come to it through an old book called "The Book of Abramelin the Mage," ascribed to a Jewish author known as Abraham of Worms. (Worms is a town in Germany). The book describes excercises of spiritual power and insight that are of benefit. It is in the public domain and may be read online or ordered as a printed book. The oil described in the book is the one that we make.

The book, as well as the oil and incense sold by Lucky Mojo, is amazing and a wonderful eye-opening read. Highly recommended! I was excited when I first saw that Lucky Mojo had these handmade items in stock...all those years ago! :)

I was wondering if there was an alternative to this oil here in LM?

I recently came across this oil and the meaning of it but have never heard of it before till today. This oil sounds like something fantastic to use in controlling work.

Abra Melin oil is used to bend others to your will and leads them to obey your wishes. In such cases it is normally used with either dragon`s or dove`s blood ink, depending on whether you lead them into harm or to a more beneficial path. It can also be used in self consecration rituals, and to aid communication with spirits of a higher power.

It also may be worth ascertaining if this formula is not just a wacky way of spelling ''Abremelin'', you can read about it here: http://www.luckymojo.com/abramelin.html Since the formula contains calamus which is a controlling herb - it may explain the ''used to bend others to your will''. You can read more about calamus here: http://www.herb-magic.com/calamus-root-chips.html

Abramelin spiritual supplies derive from an ancient Jewish formula specified by Abramelin the Mage and are employed in magical works of the practical kabbalah.

Use oils to fix candles, prepare magical amulets, anoint the body and hair, add to bath water and floor wash, and dress furniture and rooms, according to folk magic spell lore.

I recently purchased the 7-11 Holy Oil from LM. I'm looking at a future purchase, and wondered how Abramelin Oil and the 7-11 would differ in usage.

They both seem to be based on the Holy Oil recipe from the Book of Exodus in the Old Testament. Is Abramelin more for medieval Jewish kabbalah applications and Ceremonial magic, such as work with the Goetia, etc?

I would say that Abramelin Oil was designed for just those applications, exactly. The recipe differs from the temple oil in the book of Exodus due to (A) not wanting to break the "rules" God gave to Moses concerning that oil -- that is, not copying it exactly -- and (B) because of limitations in supplies of essential oils among Ashkenazi Jews in the Middle Ages.

I think that the 1930s 7-11 Holy Type Oil recipe was designed by a Jewish perfumer for a Christian clientele who wanted a holy oil made for them, but (A) not wanting to break the "rules" God gave to Moses concerning that oil, he chose a way to not exactly copy the original -- and (B) he had access to all of the essential oils required for the original, so he simply altered the proportions.

Thus they are two different recipes, appearing on different continents in different centuries, both respectfully abiding by "the rules," but being the best that their designer could devise.
