Wintergreen often makes an appearance in spell work for gambling and good luck. And if you mix it with sugar, it makes sparks of light when crushed.

Use sparingly and dilute well; methyl salicylate (the major component in wintergreen oil) is a potential problem for people allergic to aspirin. It can be absorbed through the skin--and is often used in liniments for this reason.
